Feel quite privileged to have a personalised tour of the Raptor Refuge. It’s unfortunate that so many raptors are injured by the indirect action of humans e.g powerlines, poisoning, vehicle accidents, but so good that there are people that care for them enough to operate this wonderful park. Thankyou for the work you do Craig and All.

As environmentally concerned Tasmanians we thought this tour was so worthwhile. The individual stories of the raptors & how they came to be here was so interesting & also appalling for some of them. The education centre was particularly informative & hands on.
Our young guide was devoted & inspirational & her love for the raptors was clearly obvious. Our favourite was dapper “Bob”
The owner has a true passion for educating business, government & individuals in an endeavour to save these amazing creatures. We would encourage young & old to visit or support this worthy facility

We had a fantastic time during our tour. Many of the birds we have seen from afar, but it was a once in a lifetime experience getting to be so close to them and learning about them by such knowledgeable carers.
All in all, it was a magical way to spend our morning, and wonderful to know that in doing so, we were helping to support such worthy work.
The tawny frogmouths were exquisite and the wedgies majestic and fine!

An amazing experience, to see these amazing birds up close, see details that you just don't in the wild, and learn a bit more about them. The Raptor Refuge is also doing great work with rehabilitation and release of injured birds. Seriously, this is not to be missed.

My boys (8 & 12) and I had the most wonderful experience taking a tour of Raptor Refuge and seeing the amazing work of Craig and his team. They ensure all the wonderful winged friends in their care are comfortable and relaxed.
We got to meet many new species of raptor and understand each birds unique story of how they came to be residents of Raptor Refuge.
The work done here is incredible and helped us gain a better understanding of the impact humans have on these amazing creatures.
Definitely recommend visiting.

Loved the tour by Juliet. She shared with us the history of the Refuge and background of their resident raptors. They were all so beautiful and looked well cared for. The enclosures they were in were nice too. Would highly recommend visiting and learning more about their work and what we can do to protect these lovely birds.

P.s. The Refuge is very close to the Bruny island ferry

We made a last minute decision to visit Raptor Refuge and we're so glad we did. The Raptor Refuge owner was happy to arrange a private tour at short notice and our host Juliet was so knowledgeable and passionate about the birds (including being patient with endless questions from our 5yr old daughter) it created a really memorable experience.

Found pamphlet on Spirit coming accross. Easy to book. Easy to find. Parking available. Wheelchair friendly. Very dedicated and knowledgeable tour. Facilities top notch. Well designed and neat. My fav was learning about flight tunnel.
Have meal before or plan for after. Not available at refuge.

Amazing experience learning about all the work going into reducing injury risks for these amazing birds. Our guide, Celia was very knowledgeable and gave a backstory to all the birds we met today. It was also sad but funny to see Witchy the wedge-tail eagle’s antics. Highly recommended!

We were lucky enough to have a personal tour. This place is amazing and they do great work saving wild birds. Very knowledgeable guides who didn’t rush through the tour. Highly recommend taking this tour.

What an awesome day. This is the best a wildlife refuge could be. Close up with Masked owls, Tawny Owls, Wedge tails, and everything inbetween. Staff answered all our annoying questions (and we had a lot), taught us a lot, and made the experience a engaging and fun experience. Take your kids, your parents, a random off the street! If you're a teacher take the whole school. I'd post photos, but we were so taken we forgot about our phones!

Wow. I learnt so much about Tasmania's birds of prey. The tour was personal and super informative. The grounds are immaculate, well-built and full of sculpture and paintings. They have a little museum-type area with claws, feathers and other things to see up close, as well as books and gifts including the work of local artists. The highlight was seeing the wild wedge-tailed eagles on a flying visit overhead. In all my years living in Tassie, I've only seen wedgies that close overhead once. The tour was great value and supports the work they do rehabilitating and releasing wild raptors that do recover. The only ones onsite are those that can't go back to the wild. A big thank you to our tour guide Ziggy and all the folks at Raptor Refuge!

I was absolutely blown away by the obvious love, care and time that has gone into, and continues to go into this wonderful place, and the birds within it. The grounds of the sanctuary are immaculate, as are the enclosures.
Our guide, Juliet, was knowledgeable and more than happy to answer the questions we continued to pepper her with throughout the tour.
Visit, support, do whatever you can, to ensure their important work can continue.
Bravo, Raptor Refuge team - the birds are lucky to have you.

Definitely a stand out experience during our stay in Tasmania. You can tell each and every one of these magnificent birds are lovingly cared for. The grounds and enclosures are very well kept. Such a special energy about the place as well. Our guide was wonderful - so welcoming and knowledgeable. I highly recommend a private tour to Raptor Refuge to any nature lover. Thank you so much for our memorable visit.

My partner and I were lucky enough to be the first to experience the Serendipitous Eagle Encounter and picnic, organised by the team at Raptor Refuge. It was a great experience, seeing and learning about these amazing animals, and how much work goes into protecting, rescuing and rehabiliting with the hopes of returning them to the wild. Craig and his team do amazing work, with the animals' care clearly their first priority. The picnic was wonderful; we ended up leaving with leftover food (plus a bottle of wine, chocolates, and a bouquet of raptor feathers)! Would recommend for animal lovers on a special occasion if you want to see some genuine Tasmanian wildlife care.
