Panko Chan reviews
37 Bad service. The staff asked us to order it via the QR code, and we told her we did that. After 20 minutes, she started serving other tables who came in later than us, I asked her. She then said the QR code system wasn’t working. So, what’s the point of the system?
She didn’t even serve us with water and basic respect. Throw the noodles and bowls on the tables. The staff was racist and only chose certain groups to serve. We can observe the other group coming in with similar attitudes.
Ironically, the restaurant is owned by a Chinese.
Won’t recommend visiting. Average food as well. Don’t even deserve a star for the service.
Given a free small side as the apologies having said so. The service was horrible.
I don't think there's any misunderstanding, which is clearly not the case.
Not giving future comments on the food. I saw others comment on their food, and I agree that the broth was tasteless.
This place is odd. But in a good way. Some of that Japanese attention to detail made it all the way to Kingston.
When we complained about one of our dishes (which we did not eat), apologies were made but the uneaten dish was left on the table and we were charged full price.
It's pre-prepared tucker, which is understandable. It's tasty but not as good as freshly made.
The panko cheesy eggplant is so delicious, crispy and full of flavours. Dan Dan noodle and udon are in quality as well. I like the soup base.
Came here for a casual dinner for two on a weeknight. The food quality and customer service was expectional. The creamed scallop spring rolls was a unique twist. The fish market fish was breaded and deep fried perfectly. Definitely worth a visit if you're down in Tassie and wanting Japanese-inspired cuisine.
It's a expensive restaurant but well worth it for their fusion of traditional Japanese and western (sort of British fish and chips) concepts. Try it you will not be disappointed!
Nice Japanese inspired food. We had the poke bowl and the tonkotsu ramen. Decent quality and solid 4 stars for food. Decor is nice and modern and is very close to Kingston beach. Nice local restaurant
Love this place. Eat here every time I come to Hobart. Food is great. Pictures on the wall are very cute. Highly recommend a visit.
Stopped in for lunch. Great service and fabulous food. Ordered salt and pepper squid and the green bean salad with a citrus reduction dressing. The other half had a tonkotsu ramen and a side of pickles. Will definitely return.
We had gyoza tofu n kale slad and panko blue eye with lotus root chips.
Faultless meal every bite was delicious. With 2 non al drinks was $61 bargain in my view.
A must do when in Kingston. Excellent service and food of the highest quality in my humble opinion.
OMG so good.
The scallop rolls are amazing. Everything we ordered was yummy and well presented. Kids menu was also good. Staff are wonderful. Only good things about this place.
Have a quick pass by after lunch as we are starving for dessert.
The place is well decoration with Japanese concept, adorable Panko cat. They have merch showing at front door as well - tute, bowl…
Fish and chip: can customize the coating, we chose fresh panko, it is crunchy with breadcrumbs. I love the fish most as it is feeling fresh and super hot inside. The size is quite big (as in picture with my hand).
dessert: cannot remember exactly the name, but it is fried springroll (similar like apple pie) with ice cream. Totally delish!
Will come back to try on another main dish!
Nice price, but flathead frozen, when we were told it wasn't.
Always a cold restaurant, rug up.
No tea ice cream that was beautiful when they opened.
?
Delicious fish and big servings. The fish was so tender and fresh. Recommend trying the Apple crumble spring rolls for a different take on a classic.
Amazingly good interior design, delicious chewy ramen noodles, and the charred pork was amazing
Excellent location, fresh seafood with a Japanese twist for a family lunch. Tempura, ramen and panko were lovely as was the beautiful Aya.
Definitely coming back next visit to Tassie!
Great value and delicious food. Good services. Menu keep updating all the time. I had fried Udon noodle the other night, it was amazing too
The place was lovely, everything was delicious, my girlfriend loved it and I also got to teach my adopted daughter how to use chopsticks and juggle. It was great the staff loved it and even joined in! Far better at juggling scissors than me AND they showed us the very fishing rod used to catch my dinner! Amazing! Certainly will come back and might even bring kev next time!
