New Sydney Hotel

Came for a quick bite, couldn’t have asked for anything more. Beautiful food, well worth the price.

Wow, currently unable to flaw new Sydney hotel. Good food, generous portions and quick service; staff was able to engage in a chat and seemed happy to serve you. Couldn’t recommend more for a drink and Parma.

Had a few days in Hobart and I had several meals here. Food is way better than your usual pub grub. Great atmosphere as well.

The food was amazing. Particularly the pork knuckle. The food was hearty and the family really enjoyed it. The staff were really friendly and we had an amazing time.

My wife and I had a nice dinner. The staff were very helpful and gave us some ice to take back to our room Up the street. Thanks guys.

Had their Nepalese Goat Curry on special was delicious, prefect blend of the spices.

We ate in the bar which was plentiful and delicious, the service from the Chilean staff was excellent.

Great wee Irish pub and friendly staff! Good atmosphere with live music on Saturday and Sunday - the only place with a buzz about it

We had a dinner for 16 people. The staff were so lovely and helpful. The food was beautiful. Great atmosphere. Thankyou so much for making our celebration night so memorable.

We had a really delicious meal before the Theatre. Bar staff and wait staff were extremely friendly and attentive. We were all very happy with our meals

The food here is expensive and of average quality. Shepherd's pie was mince and mash. Tasted okay. No salad pretty oily. The Cauliflower pie glutinous and salad was o
ff. Interior is very worn and shabby in the bar. Torn seats. Guineas was acceptable but not up to Dublin standards. So lunch was filling but shabby. Tasmania has generally extremely high standards in food. This is sub par. The cheap pub in Cygnet is far superior in comparison. As an international traveller I would not recommend this pub.

Easily one of my most favourite pubs in Hobart, I always make sure to go whenever I visit Tasmanial. The staff are absolutely amazing and the food is always delicious, can not recommend them enough

A disappointing return to the NSH having not dined there since late 2019. Very limited menu compared to the previous very varied and interesting offerings. Started with a glass on the table having a very apparent lipstick mark on the rim. Mains were stock standard pub offerings, lower end of the quality range. Meals came out at staggered times and yet only 4 people at the table. Side of greens ordered but didn't arrive. Only 2 deserts available and sticky date pudding was uninspiring with very burnt sauce. Drinks ordered with deserts arrived well after deserts finished - we were going to leave when they came. Will not be back.

A rowdy packed bar and dining room with interesting memorabilia popular with the locals you can get a great meal here at a reasonable price and generous serves the staff are friendly makes for a good evening

Best cheeseburger I've had in decades, and for a reasonable price.grotty 90s dive bar vibe, with an eclectic crowd of office workers, young inner city, and the odd local derro.

Fantastic staff and atmosphere.
Food is also great and the best place for Tasmanian Whisky.

My colleagues and I like to hunt out places around Hobart and nearby that do Parmis (there’s a spreadsheet of our experiences and ratings) ha! Anyway I love the New Sydney and usually have a great time - but the parmi experience was underwhelming for the team. I was shocked to see that a Parmi cost $27! Free range chicken at Coles is currently $13 per kilo.

Delicious! Stopped in for dinner and was more than pleasantly surprised. My partner and I were happy to find that the menu suited both of our dietary requirements. The fresh market fish & asparagus was so tasty and the almond cream with the greens was also amazing. Better than a pub meal, that's for sure!

BEST pub in Hobart hands down. Great Irish music session on Saturday afternoons. That's where you'll find me. (Edit) Still the greatest pub in town
