Myrtle Park Camping & Recreation Ground reviews
33Great place, close to Launceston. Picturesque, well managed camping area. Good fishing spot too. Landed a nice st pats river trout. Thanks
Really awesome place to go Camping when the weather is nice, the new management have got awesome activities for the kids and families. Met the new managers when delivering wood, really nice people. Highly recommended Myrtle Park.
Perfect family spot, kids had a ball playing on the playground and the fire pits were just what we needed with the chilly nights. Being Queenslanders the $2 HOT Showers were a god send. Loved sitting in the arvo and watching the Platypus play in the stream, it was just so special. Very friendly and helpful caretakers look forward to coming back.
As last visit, nice campground, site says power - there is no powered sites. Very quiet, camp kitchen is great and clean, as were the bathroomsi
Located on a beautiful river flat, lots of open space, great facilities and the owners are really lovely. You can't go wrong.
I went recreational hunting here and it was great there were so many creature just walking about.some where even having a BBQ, odd right.anyway great place for hunting.
Absolutely an amazing place to stay and relax for the whole family. Fabulous people and great food.
I was with family about 3 weeks ago intending to enjoy a nice family BBQ tea. The family have been going there for years and have found it a lovely place to meet with friends. This time.they turned up as they always have done. Then after a while we were approached by a pair of very straggly, hippy type people asking if we had signed in? No they hadn't as they never had to before.then they told told us of some other fancy people who had had a hut prior to us being there and reckoned they had trashed it.we checked it out after they had left us and it was fine.just hadn't put the fire out in the hut.was going out though.then they came back again saying we have to be gone by 7: 00pm if we weren't camping.who finishes a BBQ for tea by 7: 00pm when you only turned up at 5: 30pm.then later came over and asked if we'd finished with the BBQ and asked us to clean it up.talk about pressing and in your face! We all agreed it wasn't a place to be at any more and are looking for somewhere else. We cleaned it all up like we were going to anyway but don't talk about their toilets! Smelly, dirty and definitely not as the family had found them other times.
Definitely not what you need when you just want a nice relaxed evening.
Toilets and showers are gross not cleaned daily. Maybe only twice a week. Yuck bbq not clean at all, apart from lazy campers who don't bring a steelo pad, dish washing liquid when camping to clean up after themselves, the bbq may get cleaned once a week. Proprietor plays symphony card for attention so campers have no option but to hear her sob stories over and over again, "l mean who does that? " Not good practice when running a business arghhhhh.
The park it's self is beautiful, especially when council decides to mow the lawns, it's picturesque.
Great time
The new caretaker is tops
Some of the children need supevision at the tiolets and showers they spoil the experience.
Lovely setting we are lucky to have such a great park.
Always a great place for family camping. New lady managing is lovely, down to earth and helpful.
We stayed at the Myrtle Park Campground for two nights over New Years. We had a beautiful, spacious, shady site. The campground has a great family atmosphere and the people that run the camp were very friendly and helpful. Definitely a positive to have spots for campfires too.
There's only one amenities block for the whole camp site, but even with a packed campground, it wasn't a big problem.
This park is a great alternative to super expensive Launceston. Stayed there one night, while doing my Tasmania road trip. So you can easily spend whole day in Launceston and it takes only 20 minutes to get there from the city, there is petrol station near buy. Park facilities are great, perfect if you are staying in the tent or van. Showers, BBQ — all clean and working. There is a shop on the site so you can buy some snacks as well. Staff is great!
