Moorilla reviews
32Great food and over the counter experience. However when we went to the cellar door we were forgotten about and had to find out about the last two wines on our own
It pains me to write a bad review but an overpriced spot that has mediocre service and food is how I would describe this spot. They also give off an air of undeserved wonderfulness.
How about tasting the best wine in the heart of the MONA Museum? This place has an infinite number of wines and the good thing about all this is being able to have a glass of wine from each bottle if you want, just choose from the menu which one is your favorite.
Called 4 times to try and book a table for dinner, kept getting transferred, then to a message bank, asked to speak to a manager but no. Kept getting told to book online but when I tried twice it was to book a wine tour. Finally I was told that the restaurant was fully booked. Why couldn't I be told this in the first call?
Way out of our price bracket what with ripping of the tourist. We would have love to sit on the lawn and eat a burger. Your food and drink prices hideously expensive
Delicious food and friendly atmosphere. I had an orzo and green things salad (not the exact name) that I recommend.
Right next to mona so a convenient choice before or after.
Ordered the pretzel & gods Mezze plate. Delicious dips.
Not generous in portions for the prices paid for the meal.
Good service.
Decent bistro, food is not bad, price is OK considering it’s museum bar/bistro. Staffs are warm and welcoming.
Dont drink wine at the Moorilla Wine bar, as they ruin the experience by only providing plastic wine glasses. I understand that for those having picnics on the grass outdoor areas but I ondered a not inexpensive lunch & bottle of wine for dining inside the restaurant/bar area & sadly was advised that they don't use glass at all. We much preferred the wine tasting at the cellar door which allowed us to enjoy our tastings in a real glass. The food & ambience was nice in wine bar as well However I'll skip it next time and maybe try the ferry drinks, assuming what they call the " posh " ticket will not be provided in plastic semi clean picnic glasses. We shall see.
Relaxing boozy end after a day at an unusual art museum! AUD$20 for tasting 8 wines seems like great value, even for me, normally not a big wine drinker!
Take me back. So much to do here. Pace yourself, You are in for a Treat. Not enough hands to carry all the goodies to take back home with you!
