Molly's Takeaway Cafe reviews
41 Took over 30 minutes from ordering to receiving a steak chips and salad, and one piece of fish.
Salad was pre-made at least a few hours ago and the lettuce was starting to wilt. Additionally as salads are pre-made one cannot request the removal of undesirable ingredients.
Gravy was ordered and correctly put through the till but was not supplied.
Steak was requested medium rare (also correctly recorded by the cashier) but received overcooked and with no noticeable seasoning. I could (and will) cook it better myself.
Delicious seafood. We shared a couple of seafood baskets (plenty for 5 people). Could really taste the seafood. Such a cute busy store. Staff were friendly and efficient and knew what they were doing.
Café with 3 inside table's & several outside picnic tables, lots of hot food server to order, polite & helpful lady served us. They also have a small shop selling essential foods.
Very concerned about this business, we walked in after seeing lovely pictures of food prior, only to walk promptly back put and decided not to order.
Hygiene was low, floors were sticky and didn't look like they had ever seen a mop.
Young person servicing the counter didn't have a care factor in customer service.
Food in bain marie looked terrible.
I'm glad we left.
A little place wanted to try somewhere different for breakfast as not many options in town first thing Sunday morning. Food was ok.
6.30pm and they stopped cooking!
Served by a teenager chewing gum with a 'couldn't care less' attitude
A really bad experience.
Do yourself a favour & go to the pub instead
- but book first.
Molly's takeaway is one of the few dining options in Strahan open in winter. Luckily, prices are very reasonable and staff are lovely.
Grill / pizza options close off at 6.30pm but they went above and beyond to help us with grabbing a couple of dinner options. The vego burger was surprisingly good and pizza leftover in the bain marie delicious. Highly recommend the wedges as well.
They have a number of grocery options and freezer meals available which is very handy.
Placed an order at 5: 15 to pick up at 6: 45. Arrived at 6: 45 and told it is still ten minutes away because they had a rush. Actually waited an additional fifteen minutes for it. I guess the positive is that it will be freshly cooked and hopefully good pizza. Recommend if you are going to eat here, you walk in and order because pre ordering is obviously a waste of time and walk-ins get priority.
After a long day at work I went to the café to buy a coffee and this is what I end up finding when I finished it.
This place was great! Now, the food wasn't the greatest thing I have had, but it was food. Everywhere was either closed or booked out, so there was nowhere for us to eat. Thank God molly's was open for us to have something. Honestly, if Molly stepped up the food game and had some meals out for people to have late at night, they might have a winner on their hands.
Thank-you,
- Very hungry travellers.
Staff didn’t seem happy. Ordered a steak sandwich, steak was discoloured and smelt off uneatable. Chips were good. Chicken burgers were ok but bacon was undercooked.
Fantastic little takeaway with plenty of different options on offer. Great prices, friendly staff and everything lovely and fresh.
The young boy serving had awesome customer service. Pizza was great and had loads of topping. Great variety of food
Perfectly located right next to the caravan park. A mix of good options but basically a fish and chip shop. Wedges are a steal. Expect a bit of a wait when busy.
I bought 6 ‘local flake” and chips for my family. The flake was sliced wafer thin and deep fried until very dark brown. It was all batter, no fish. It was dripping in oil as were the potato cakes. The chips were underdone, under seasoned with revolting gravy. Afterwards we were quesy and one of my family even vomited. It was by far the worst meal I have ever bought and if I could give it zero stars I would. Buyer beware!
Struggle to find good available food in Strahan so headed over to Mollys. I must say the shop and staff where very underwhelming. Staff obviously did not want to be there, and could I find a smile.nop. However after a bit of a wait, food was pretty good.
We ordered three pizzas from Mollys for dinner after a limited choice in town after 6.30pm. The pizzas were really good with lots of toppings. Would recommend. Thanks Mollys hunger solved.
Prompt service. Well priced. We looked around for a place in Strahan to have lunch and it seemed this is all there was.
Casual dining. We were happy to be able to sit inside to eat our lunch. We both had a veggie burger which wasn’t bad, the pattie was soggy though.
I was sold fish that (I believe) was in the bainmarie for some time. (several hours) The fish was hard and dry (we threw it out, we couldn't eat it!) When you ring ahead with an order, you do it for the convenience of both the seller and the customer. The customer trusts that the seller does the right thing by using fresh produce. This didn't appear to happen in this case! I don't recommend this venue for locals or travellers.
The lady at the shop was super nice and lovely.
Large chips were big - good value!
Also order dim sim and a potato cake and both were extremely yummy.
Thank you!
