Sadly there was no room when we got there, but it’s free, has a great location and toilets.
However we drove a little further towards Swansea and there’s a beach named Kelvedon: we free camped there for the night (no toilets or amenities but very private)

No good don't go there, I want it all to myself. Na, great place great beach and nice tidy and clean. Not much luck at catching any fish but others did.

Unfortunately we arrived 9pm but managed to squeeze into a spot. Great camping and small campervan site. Lovely views and beach.

Gorgeous free camping area. Close to beach but there are no showers or running water so that's a problem

Lovely and safe beach. Crowded camp area with little grass and not a lot of flat (ish) areas. Large vehicles tend to stop on the road/tracks. A reminder to bring your own water is that there are not even any hand basins in the toilets. The toilets were clean.

Nice relaxed spot just off the highway. Beach and views out over Freycinet Peninsula are brilliant. Highly recommend

Great little free camping area. Hybrid toilets, bring own water and firewood. It's a bird conservation area, but dogs are allowed if controlled. Interesting rocks and shells on the beach, great views across Coles Bay to Frecinet with the Hazards and Schouten Is, plus Maria Is.to the south, great in sunset. Check out the bridge. We had a great weekend.

Beautiful spot! Facilities weren't too bad. Beautiful beach, not too far out of town. Nicely sheltered from the wind but still easy access to the beach

After stopped here for lunch we wished we had camped here the night before instead. It’s such an amazing spot right next to a beautiful beach. Consequently it was pretty full when we were there.

Clean, quiet and free camp on the sea side with a beautiful beach and a nice view on Shouten Island and Freycinet mountains.
Bio WC with paper but no sink (no free water) and no wast bins.
A box is installed near the WC for donation.
The beach is long and suitable to have a walk.
Be careful to snakes.

Good free camp spot, gets busy and if you are tenting bring some heavy duty pegs as ground is rocky. Beach walks and views are superb. Saw some dolphins. Some spots are windy with sea breeze so be aware if forecast is heavy winds. Overall a good overnighter but can get busy so hard to get a spot if you don't come early.

The camp sites are well set out. The beach is beautiful and clean. Toilets are clean and toilet paper supplied. BYO WATER. I had children aged 4-17 with me and the camp area kept everyone occupied. Beach fishing, clean sand for sand castle building, grassy picnic table area which it lovely to sit and relax or to use the area for ball games.
Short dirt road just off the highway.
BYO fire wood
Dog friendly too:)

We will be back!

Beautiful location with plenty of sites. Combination toilets, no water or firewood. Sites are dirt or gravel but the ocean is the real star.

Fair amount of space, not much of it is flat. Plots are gravelly dirt rather than grass. Very close to the highway. The beach was smelly in January because of a large amount of rotting sea weed. Toilets OK. Pay by donation only. Good for a quick stop in a camper.

Lovely little area where you can stop for a rest during your Great Eastern drive around Tasmania.
