54 I’ve been staying at the Mantra for a little over a month.
The staff here are unbelievable friendly and accommodating. Honestly some of the best service I’ve experienced. The team here are so very knowledgeable about the local area.
A decent spot, in a great location. Its an aged hotel and been around for a while, but if you can get it for a decent price, its worth it.
Front reception staff are great, very helpful, friendly and made me very welcomed throughout my two night stay.
Breakfast in the morning has plenty of options, and the coffee is good, so thats a win!
Beds are OK, pillows are OK, nothing to glam! Shower and bathroom are straight forward and basic, water pressure ok too.
I think its pretty good for what it is, nothing over the top, but its clean and doable for a few night stay.
No fitness centre though, so thats a downside for me.

A little late for this but I just want to write a review how satisfied and happy we were with Mantra on Collins. It was our first time in Hobart, we stayed for 6 days (august 2023) to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It didn’t disappoint. In fact, we can’t wait to go back and definitely stay again here in Mantra on Collins. We were working for most part of weekdays but even though, we we’re comfortable. Although we might get a bigger room next time for 2 set of desk.
Superb customer service from the front staff. The duty manager that time was so helpful & friendly, gave us resto recommendations and places to visit. Everyday room service and cafe breakkie. Couldn’t ask for more!
Plus they gave us a complimentary champagne with hand written letter for my hubby’s bday.
Overall, we felt home for that short stay.
I am a tour guide who stays at this hotel regularly and its staff are the absolute best! A clean and comfy place to stay.
Thanks for a great stay we have been back and forth for our lil one for medical treatment, when we checked in on the 18/06/23 about 3.30pm the front reception was so helpful and kind they gave our daughter a chocolate colour pencils and and drawings, the location to RHH and Wellington clinics is perfect, the room was quite with everything we needed with a 3 year old, beds were comfy this is the best place we have stayed in Hobart on this journey, Breakfast was great no complaints here thanks Dev and the Team,
My experience here was atrocious. My partner and I stayed for 6 nights during Dark Mofo. The location is central but hobart is a small city so anywhere is. That was the only highlight. On the third morning, we were awoken at 10am by cleaning services. While this was early we advised we’d be leaving soon as they advised they come back at 12pm. We purposely left the hotel before this time only to come back at 4pm and the room was not cleaned. I told reception and they apologized saying cleaners went home. The hand lotion in the bathroom also was empty during my entire stay until i notified them to replace it.
On the 6th morning upon packing for checkout I noticed one of my Doc Marten boots was missing. I searched the room with my partner to not find it. I went down to reception to alert staff only to be gaslit that I was not looking hard enough in the room and to “check under my bed” when the bed base was 5cm off the ground. The staff implied I was lying. Another staff member came out and I had to explain the situation infront of everyone in reception which embarrassed me.
An hour later my boot was found by staff amongst the towels and linen room. When my boot was returned it was dirty.
I went to check out and the hotel manager attempted to apologize to me. Only to get heated and raise his voice when I shared my inconvenience of having to prolong my checkout due to this incompetence by his staff. No compensation was offered or even a free breakfast for our troubles. He instead told me that “he had been a manager for longer than I have travelled” when I told him that throughout my years of staying at hotels I’d never experienced having my personal belongings removed from my room.
SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE AND DO NOT STAY HERE.
Cost is high when compared to quality. This place feels like an old ibis that's been given a facelift. Not impressed!
I appreciate the polite, helpful, and welcoming staff (especially the lady) who made me feel glad to be back at the hotel at the end of a long day. The hotel is also situated at a great location that's close to the habour and the city. Prior to my arrival, I was pretty excited to spend 5 nights at Mantra as I was expecting a 4-star quality room. I was also anticipating a pretty nice room that was deserving of the price I've paid for. With all that hope, I was very quickly left deflated when I saw entered the room. It wasn't that it was bad. It just wasn't 4-star, and it was definitely not worth the value I've paid for, but the complimentary coffee from the restaurant made my morning!
Tiny room with view of carpark. Nowhere to sit. Air conditioning insufficient. Strange freestanding air cooler in room. No free parking. No complementary water.
Good quality comfortable rooms, well serviced. Parking is next door at Sultan multi story carpark. Take your ticket to reception for validation and reduced parking fee.
Ignore carport full sign.
My husband and I just recently stayed at the Mantra in Hobart for 1 week. The staff are so friendly and helpful.
The location is great, walking distance to everything in the city.
Our room was nice with a view of the mountains. We will definitely stay
again when we visit Hobart.
Easy walk to important sights in Hobart. Constitution Dock galleries museums. Staff helpful and friendly.
The room was clean, tidy and serviced daily. But the best thing by far was the welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Thanks for a nice stay team!
Clean and comfortable, staff were always friendly and helpful and hotel was close to everything. Try the pub with the hot buttered rums around the corner!
Fantastic location! We found the staff in all areas to be welcoming and efficient. Their professional attitude made our stay very enjoyable. Our room requests were met, and we appreciated the lovely view to Mount Wellington. The room was clean with a comfy bed. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend this Hotel as a great base to explore Hobart.
Loved our stay here. Good rooms, top notch location. The staff are very friendly. And the service was second to none. Very very impressed with the level of service, the little things really go a long way in my book. For example, I called reception because I was having a minor issue with the air conditioning not working. The receptionist fixed it within minutes whilst still on the phone, he then offered us a portable heater while we wait for the room air con to heat up, we of course said ‘no that won’t be necessary’, but I was really taken aback by the offer.
That’s just one of several examples I could give.
Also, the restaurant downstairs has terrific food, very impressed all around with everything
Horrible booking experience. Staff were not considerate with our booking needs. Made massive booking errors and not helpful with changes. Had to cancel trip.
I always book places with free parking and this place marketed free parking with the travel agent but when I went to exit the car park, I was charged. Terrible.
Lovely staff, nice rooms and easy walking distance to the harbour for tours & the Saturday markets. They even surprised us everyone with a bag of Easter eggs on Easter morning. A really nice touch that was very appreciated.
