Lake Burbury Camping Ground reviews
31The Campground is beautiful and good price! The sunset was super beautiful as well! The only thing was that the BBQ didn’t work and there was no solution.
Wow, the views are amazing. The mtn view changes with the clouds, so beautiful. Most picturesque camp ground.
Beautiful little hidden gem just before making the trip into Queenstown. Facilities and grounds well looked after
Well maintained campsites and driveway. Clean toilets and nice BBQ area with rain water. Ducks and wallabies everywhere. Beautiful views of the lake and a short drive to Nelson Falls. $6 for the night.
Beautiful Spot surrounded by gorgeous Lake Burbury with amazing views of Mt. Owen and others. Great cheap camp spot to fish & have a camp fire. Well maintained.
There is lots of space to park campers and Caravans, while the tent/swag area is huge. Can camp anywhere on the grassy area.
Toilets (flushing) are pretty new and clean, though they are a little far from the camp area, depending on where you park. No showers.
Camp kitchen is just a shelter with a couple benches. No cooking facilities that I saw. A few bbq tables around the grassy area.
Paid $6 for the night, pay to the caretaker or leave in honesty box.
The lake is huge backed by the rugged mountains of that area so nice scenery.
Plenty of room for caravans and camping, toilets are brand new, there's a camp kitchen with gas BBQ and bins on site.
We didn't stay here, but just drove in on our way to Queenstown. But looked very well maintained and very spacious.
Spectacular lakeside location, Clean facilitates, big open shared campsite, and one private little river front site (first in gets it). At $6 this is a very good venue
From the sign it seems like it's $6 for a night. The campsite is very easy to get to. There's a camp kitchen and a public toilet. Very big and spacious campground, just right next to the lake! There's no mobile reception here.
Despite the weird caretaker it’s a nice place just because of the lake. The toilets got cleaned just after when more ppl came to the campsite. There is no shower which has a potential to have.
One of the most beautiful camping spots in Tassie, missed a rare chance to video a asteroid ️ falling to the lake close to midnight “never expected something like that….
Really nice location, only ones there so was quiet. Only downside is we couldn't get the electric BBQ to work
Good simple campsite with great view.
Only one spot with direct lake view, but we got this as only us and one other tent in the entire site.
Only $6 for our van for one night.
We were self contained so didn't use the toilets, but we were able to throw our trash away.
We only stopped for a short break but the camp site looked nice and clean and the view of the lake was stunning
Beautiful lake and surroundings, a bit of hike to the toilet block.which has disabled cubicle but no disabled ramp to get over 2 steep stairs
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, nice and clean, sheltered from the wind short stroll through the bushes to sit by the lake from our spot, amenities clean, everyone friendly
Perfect spot if you're lucky enough to grab the spot by the lake, but still pleasant throughout the campgrounds in any case. Great value at $6 per night, caretaker was friendly and approachable. Basic facilities, old but clean. Definitely rated highly for scenic value!
Good views and dog friendly, but some of the camping spots were quite muddy. Easy drive to Queenstown.
It's a swamp in colder months. There is no view, you need to walk 50 mts to see the lake and the toilets are far.
Tasmania is dense with beauty and my mouth has oft gaped with awe at the sheer magic and natural festivity of even the most benign places - even stopping just off the roadside to shake off the driving momentum.
This lake however, will forever more be a highlight in my life. My words, as vast and peotic as they may be don't and may never do this very special place justice. I also wish whole heartedly that my photography skill was on par with excellence.
Though I've been softening my harsh appraisal of all things lately, it's still uncanny for myself to express my feelings about the joy this lake brought me during my visit.
Huey was kind enough to paint many rainbows and the waters here are a dreamscape to paddle within.
The campgrounds do just fine, the bathrooms may be a little run down but they work well enough and at a mere $6 a night, well, what sane person would be disappointed? No - seriously, I'm not sure I know enough about sane people to speak for them?
