Lachlan Hotel reviews
44Two mates and I stopped here for an overnight stay few nights ago on a motorbike trip round Tassie. It's a country Pub with Lyn doing most of the work due to staff shortages (Covid keeps giving) Open fire in the bar was welcome after a very wet 270k round trip to Gordon Dam. We had a nice meal, and chatted to locals in the bar later on. Good overnighter. Road house down the road opens early for fuel and does coffee and egg and bacon rolls.
We had a great stay at the Ouse! Comfy bed, friendly publican and locals, and tasty food = winning combo!
Last minute decision to stay the night and eat here. We both ordered lamb cutlets and absolutely enjoyed then. Very tasty and juicy cutlets and the mint gravy was amazing. Very pleased we stopped by.
What a gem.
Clean and tidy and the bed was comfy.
Had the best lamb cutlets.
Was great to chat with other guests.
The staff were very helpful
My girlfriends and I had a meal there and it was magnificent! I have not had such a beautiful meal in at least 20 years. The service was fantastic! Can’t wait to go there again and definitely recommend, just amazing well done!
Absolutely rude the lady at bar was very rude we drove from roseberry and needed to use toilet had to stop at pub cos public toilets were packed with 5 or more 4wd and people she insisted a donation and was rude saying there is a sign on front stating that which we did not see so not to return there I also paid
60dollars for a carton of pure blonde wich should be 50
Excellent tasteful and large meals in a location that has stood still in time.
Lovely friendly service.
Stayed on a rainy night while on a tour of Tassie staying mainly in a tent. Sarah was a wonderful host - arranged a wonderful evening meal, made sure we were comfortable, and showed us all we needed for a self-service breakfast. Country pubs don't get better than this!
We arrived by coincidence because the hotel is not listed in Booking.com or any website and guys, this place is GOLD. Staff super friendly and helpful. Food was more that delicious and it has a nice pub to have some drinks. The bedroom super clean, confortable and big beds. The bathroom has bathtub, heater. This place keep us warm, completely ready for winter. If you are doing a road trip and are thinking about stopping somewhere, you must stay here:)
Waitress working had a go at us for asking a question about whether the salmon was locally sourced, just because we like to know what we’re eating and we like to support local. She throughout the night continued to be rude to us. The food was good and so was the atmosphere, but I didn’t feel very happy at all with her rudeness and attitude to us. Was close to just leaving. If there was a different staff member, a friendly one, definitely would’ve loved it
Travelling around Tasmania, my group wanted to stop off for some food. We thought this place would be good. Got inside and the lady was awful, complaining about how many there were of us and being extremely rude. About half of the group decided to bail and head to the servo for lunch instead. Covid-19 shouldn't stop you from being kind to your potential customers. Thanks for your hospitality: (
Great meals and wonderful service. We called in with a large group and minimal notice due to a road closure and were made to feel welcome and had a great lunch.
We were feeling a little peckish so stoped at the local at Ouse. It is one of those gems that you stumble across by accident that adds to the total holiday experience.
Friendly service, a great atmosphere and outstanding food.
This place is absolutely sensational. Good old fashioned service at its best. The decor took you back in time even the real table cloths and servittes. The meal of crumbed cutlets were THE BEST I have had in a very long time. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
My daughter and I decided to take a drive on the weekend and ended up at Ouse so we thought we would stop and have some lunch and a beer at the Lachlan Hotel best decision ever the food was absolutely delicious lots of choices on menu, staff were great can't say enough good things about this place so if you're looking for a great pub meal a beer or wine and some history don't go past this hotel I'm glad we didn't
AMAZING food and service.
We were staying in Hamilton but nothing was open so we ducked down to the lachlan for dinner and the lovely lady who served us was the only one working and yet she got the food out so quickly and the food was absolutely gorgeous, perfectly cooked and delicious (the creamy garlic sauce is perfection)
The Lachlan Hotel was a welcome site after driving too many km's through the West with night quickly falling. It may not have an ocean view, a pool or ousing opulence but it does have character & for $95 a spotless two bed room, comfortable beds (elec blankets), fresh clean linen, bathroom across the hall, beautiful scented rose blooms on the dining tables, linen napkins & the food was way beyond our expectations, this cosy dining room has a menu to suit all palates. Home cooked breakfasts delicious, departed refreshed & sated
Stopped there for the night. Great service, great food, room was comfortable and the beer was cold. Great country atmosphere. Well done!
Delicious pub counter meals. I had the crumbed flathead fillet with chips and salad, great crumbed fish and salad was fresh. Very good portion size too.
Quaint little hotel with really nice and well priced pub meals. The chicken schnitzels are huge!
