Kings Bridge Bar & Restaurant

Good food coming from the kitchen, but the place is let down by the staff front of house. While staying in the accommodation above the bar we visited for breakfast and dinner over multiple days. Several staff constantly ignored us and other customers and seemed more interested in talking with each other about stories from the previous night rather than taking orders or clearing tables.

Excellent location and ample parking, some you need to pay.
Staff were super friendly and very attentive, always coming over to clear table and see if we needed anything else.
Beautiful old building with some modern touches. Food was great, presented very well and so tasty, highly recommended

Absolutely amazing! Adorable D&D mediaeval feel, and incredible make-your-own brekky menu. Service was incredible, but we went when it wasn't busy. Awesome overall.

Extremely delicious food. Great venue options for celebration dinners or gatherings.

Love the Robin Hood castle decor (except the hunting heads and such, not my thing)

Clean bathrooms and service was polite and friendly.

I'd suggest the chicken and mushrooms. Little disappointed on the Paris patatoes other than that the costs, expections and night was delightful

Great place for a breakfast and coffee. Perfect for a post run. Has lots of space for groups. Build your own breakfast is the best.

Thoroughly enjoy the location and decor, often have live music fridays. Unfortunately, the overall distain from staff regarding bar service ruins the experience.

Food is, from multiple experiences, very enjoyable. If you want to operate table service, then excel at it. If you don't want to offer reasonable bar service, dont offer it.

For an establishment with such a lovely bar space, it boggles the mind as to why they don't lean into it.

It would seem the odd day to day staff are interested in offering good service. Unfortunately, their lead bar staff ruin the overall experience.

Only an experienced bar manager away from a stella edition to Launceston.

Have been coming here for 3 years always been good. Today we ordered seafood platter as usual, absolutely terrible $100 for small piece of fish, a few pieces of calamari and a 6 prawns in some sauce, 2 bits smoked salmon the rest was lettuce, carrot, pine nuts and some very dried up chips which had been cooked in old oil, staff are always good but until they replace the chef we won't be back

Gorgeous building, great food and drinks. We even enjoyed some live music while sitting outdoors soaking up the sun

I recently stayed at motel adjoining the Kings Bridge and apart from the bed being one the most comfortable I’d slept on. The food and service at the Bar & Restaurant was top notch.

The daily fresh baked cob is not baked fresh daily. It was a cob loaf that comes in pre made and was taken out of the freezer. The chicken parmigiana x 2 that were ordered came out with old left over chips and the topping was way over cooked. Asked for fresh chips on one of the parmi ordered. To prove point look at the photos I put on here also. No seasoning on chips either. No love in the food. Would not recommend. Especially for the price you pay. Such a disappointment for my first pub meal in Tasmania. Avoid.

We made a reservation and enjoyed our amazing meals and didn't have any issues in regards to food or service for our experience, but I am writing on behalf of those who missed out tonight.

As we ate our food I was completely shocked at how many customers they turned away claiming they are "fully booked" when the restaurant was at most 15% capacity for the whole time we were there during the hours of 6pm & 730pm. We watched roughly 8 different groups/couples get turned away with "sorry we are fully booked tonight. "

If you're suffering a shortage in stock due to public holidays or a shortage in team members, the majority of the public would accept clarity over the situation rather than fully booked.

Perhaps put a sign or two up saying we are only operating at 30% capacity tonight with limited items on the menu. Sorry for the inconvenience.

But from other reviews, this seems like it's the normal here.

Food was delicious once it arrived, although not enough of it for the price per plate.
Because we did not have a booking on a public holiday it appeared the staff were rather put off and frazzled by our entry.
We had to ask for cutlery and serviettes. Apparently there's also an unexplained surcharge for paying in cash.

Went here recently for breakfast found the kitchen staff to be very rude to staff in the bar and the experience wasn't great. Did not like the build your own breakfast, just wanted to order simple big breakfast without having to design it. Can't say I'll be back in hurry. Have found staff to be rude the last few times I been here.

Food is tasty but the staff don't take non reservations well. Kitchen can't handle too many bookings, although there are seats but can't take the customer as there were too many people waiting on the meal.

Pork belly was alright. Waiters are a bit slow. Never got asked if I wanted more drinks, then asked for a dessert menu, waited 20 minutes for someone to take my order and they never came so paid my bill and left.
Seems to be more for the locals then tourists.

Very disappointing meal. I ordered medium rare salmon in broth. It came out dry as a bone; way overcooked. Staff just wanted payment without a care in the world.

A local recommended this place and well deserved. Nice choice of light lunches. The fish and chips and calamari salad with glasses of local wine were all excellent value. Friendly staff.

Quite disappointed. Booked for 6pm, mains and entrees were very slow to arrive. Entrees were taken incorrectly. Waited quite some time for food up to an hr for entree and mains after that as well. Not overly busy. Service was poor. Had to keep getting up to ask for service for some drinks. Staff quite rude and seemed like it was an issue to pour a drink. All in all food wasn’t too bad after it arrived.

If a very noisy and a long wait for table service sounds like a good time this is the place to wine and dine.

If you are hungry and in a rush this is not the place to go.

Got the menus as we were seated which was ideal. Unfortunately after 20 or so minutes I had to go up to the bar to ask for a staff member to order some drinks and take our order.

Ordered the Brisket to share and the cob loaf. The food itself was good. The brisket was massive, the wife and I couldn’t get through it. Tried to get a doggy bag for later but the staff member couldn’t provide, I didn’t want to waste the brisket.

Unfortunately it took 1.5 hrs to receive the meal when the place was about half full. Eating and drinking is not an efficient process here. It’s a shame as this is what this place specialises in.

Poor experience, make sure you ring and book, kitchen can’t handle 2 extra people. There were plenty of spare seats aside from reserved areas and we were told restaurant was at capacity at 7pm on a Tuesday.
