42Clean rooms, crisp clean linen, great food, friendly helpful staff, what more can you want, it is a typical old pub but, you get ambience, but not modern.
Terribly Racist owners, we got refused service immediately after a white man was accepted service.
The employee behind the bar quickly asked the second employee to remove the OPEN Sign immediately from the front of the Shop.
They said they had closed immediately after serving somebody else.
In today's society this type of unfair treatment and discrimination should not be tolerated - we have reported them to the ACCC Australia Consumer Protection Watchdog for further enquiry.
Best pub in the Tassie! They have great parmi’s and great entertainment thanks to Clint. Highly recommend
Very friendly and helpful staff/owners. Nothing was too much trouble.
Excellent country pub. Outstanding meals at great prices. Good selection of wines & beers. Very nice outdoor dining area. Highly recommend.
We went for dinner not knowing what to expect but ended up having a great pub experience. Met some locals, played darts and enjoyed an excellent dinner. The Parmi was delicious with fresh veges cooked to perfection. Thanks Kerri for a great night!
Excellent country pub, great pub food, good servings, good quality. Lovely indoor dining area, well laid out. Great friendly service and staff. They opened the outdoor dining area for us and our dog, very highly recommended. Menu photos attached from 21/10/2020
Turned up tired, wet, cold, hungry and thirsty and the staff looked after us in every way. Comfy rooms, great food and service and very economical. Would recommend to all travellers.
We booked a double room and the manager was in a good mood and up graded us to an ensuite for free! Cheers Kerri We had Steaks for dinner I would argue best in Tassie!
Absolutely delicious food couldn't fault the food or service and the dining area was perfect nice and warm with the wood heater.will definitely be back.well done everybody.
The Atmosphere in the public Bar was very welcoming noice the meal in the restaurant was delicious. The staff were amazing considering there had been a power most of the day.
Great country pub, fun staff and ice cold Great Northern Crisp on tap. Try out the Dorset Red if they have any left.
Nice old pub. Friendly atmosphere. Meals are awesome, Beds are super comfortable. Was impressed with the comfort considering the age of the place. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Will 100% Stay again. Thanks again
Great Accomodation, clean neat room, even though small, bed comfortable even right down to electric blanket!
All we wanted was bed and hot shower so it was great!
Grand old building, wonderful heritage.
Offered continental breakfast, which was great! Very Reasonably priced!
Don't order the chicken schnitzel. It was processed goo, glued together with flour and crumb. Peas like rocks, no sweetness. Ordered chips, got mash. The steak looked good. Pity we didn't order 3 of them. $75 wasted.
Look after your visitors. We would have ordered more drinks if happy. I saw another table unsatisfied.
Hotel cook- Do yourself a favour, throw the goo away and serve chicken breast. Ask your guests if the food is good.
Friendly service. However the meal was pretty bad. Lamb shanks ok but veggies were boiled till flavorless. The steak was ok not medium rare as requested tho but the salad was just some chopped up ends of cabbage and other uninspiring things i can't even remember. Not worth the drive from Derby.
What a great pub. Full of friendly locals and serving the greatest pork steak I have ever eaten.
The main man is an absolute treasure.
Be sure not to miss this place. It delivers everything it promises on the roadside sign
What a beautiful old pub! It is so nice to see an old decorative wooden building being preserved. The owners were very accommodating and welcoming. The rooms comfortable and the pub meals tasty. They even grow their own hops and have beer made locally which they have on tap. It is also a beautiful area to visit. I think we will be returning to this place.
Foods a pass, nothing special. Greeting was far from warm, not even a smile. Do yourself a favor and go to the Dorset in Derby.
Dropped in for a counter meal of superb lamb shank & veggies, enjoyed with a glass of wine by the log fire
Yes, to all of the up above statements. Very friendly patrons and staff. Highly recommend to others. You will not be disappointed.
