I would have to say your business needs a proper cook, we had steak and chips and salad, steak was cooked perfect, mushroom sauce had been burnt and you could taste and smell it and no salad dressing, not worth the drive or $38 for meal

Great pub, dated.staff stretched.
Very friendly environment.
Food is brilliant, they do so well with so little. Quality always on point and menu has been recently updated.
Publican is a hoot and charm. Young las who does everything to make you welcome and happy.
Cook / chief does tremendous job.

The pub is CLOSED, apparently because the owner is selling so he didn't bother renewing his liquor license

I didn't stay there but only saw it. Good memorial for the "Olden Days". ;-)

Had a family night out and these guys went above and beyond, our meals were amazing and the staff were awesome and friendly Thankyou guys we will be back.

Decent pub food but I don't think we picked the best items on the menu (fish and chips). Friendly staff and nice location though, would still recommend.

Hope the owner can find himself a new chef. Steak overcooked to the state of resembling leather. Chicken schnitzel also overcooked and so dry it was near impossible to eat.
Friend expressed her concern and the chef came out and was nothing short of aggressive. Friend given a $15 refund. Not appropriate for a $35 scotch fillet she couldn't eat.
The salad was drowned in sweet chillie sauce. Who puts sweet chillie on salad?
On a brighter note, front of bar staff Fay was delightful.
The bed was comfortable.

Won't be coming back here for a meal.
Ordered a steak as a medium rare got a burnt piece of meat. Salad had chilli in it and I can't eat chilli. Now have a swollen mouth.

Great country pub with delicious meals at very affordable prices, great atmosphere with wood fireplaces.

Stop for lunch here. Very surprised. Was cooked well and tasted great. More people should stop by.

Said $80 online for a double room a night, charged $100. Got a double bed. Tried to get it back after double checking online, showed staff they said just wait a second. Served 3 people behind me before saying no. Partner came in she got the 20 back and we got moved to a room with 2 single beds? We weren't rude but we just ended up leaving, didn't seem like a nice place to stay.

I stayed at this beautiful place for 3 months whilst working away. Loved the home cooked food and the great character of the host. Miss tyson the staffi dog. Will come back one day to see you again

Nice old country pub with friendly staff, local beer, wine & spirits. We enjoyed a great midday meal. Well worth the stop.

Meal looked good but was stone cold (I mean stone cold chip where hot, lamb shanks stone cold veg where stone cold broccoli Stone Cold not cooked at all raw staff nothing to say there

A charismatic, historic pub with great service. The meals were both tasty and generous. Can't wait to get back one day. Highly recommend the steak.

We ate here. Had terrific steak, house made rissoles, fresh vegetables: all well presented with friendly service.

We have stayed here many times and it’s always been clean and tidy, however on this stay, the shared toilets never got cleaned. There was poo, dirty toilet paper, dirty towels and hair. We stayed 2 nights and may not go back.
The room was clean and tidy and the meals were really good.
There were some really rowdy customers in the pub and they came upstairs and were a bit of a nuisance and kept coming back in via the firescape outdoor stairs.

Who knew a ghost town could be so friendly? Stopping in for a bite, we were grabbed by the ambience. Some slow country song played on a jukebox which was removed years ago. A lone whistle sung out from the valley emptied of trains. We sat in the cold and watched the hops shiver in the fields out back of the hotel. The parmi warmed our souls and filled our stomachs to the very brim. Long live the Imperial Hotel!

I am a local that has lived here for 25 years, I was very disappointed in the new owners - they said to me that they charge tourists $10 more for each carton of beer because they hate overseas tourists in Tasmania.

People have constantly complained about the new owners being racist and this is a great sadness to our small family like community.
