Iluka Tavern reviews
46Somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. Service was really nice. Outside sitting available. Had the chicken parma, was o.k, but for AUD 30 a bit pricy. Iluka Tavern also has a bar and bottle shop. Nevertheless, recommend.
While we didn’t eat here, we had a beer in the beer garden at the front of the pub. They have a good selection of Tassie craft beers - the Du Cane is excellent.
A great place to bring the family. Wonderful staff, great atmosphere and delicous food. Also, i loved the way they worked well even when the pub was super busy. Would reccomned.
Bit after the event. But we were involved in the Coles Bay bushfire road closure and overnight forced stay. All the staff and especially the young woman in the dining room went above and beyond to look after everybody. Kitchen staff did a mighty job under very trying conditions. Will be back in November and eating there again!
Cheap beers, great food, welcoming people and locals. Had a great mid week night at the pub
Local tavern that's got a good mix of pub food. Service by the staff was top notch and much higher than what I would expect in a local tavern.
We had the lamd shank which was nicely cooked and had good taste, the mashed potato wasn't properly mashed but that's a small mistake in a overall good dish. Fish curry was decently put together and fish was delicious.
Dinner here was certainly a highlight of our trip! Upon stumbling by this restaurant at Coles Bay, we were completely dumbfounded by the level of high-quality service and food we received. From entree to dessert, each dish was beyond exceptional and this is coming from my father (who was a chef). The medium-rare steak was juicy, smoky, and cooked to perfection. I would say it even outshines high-end steak houses in Hobart. Other dishes such as the lamb shanks or curry are also worth trying out. If you’re ever passing by Coles Bay, I would definitely recommend dinner here.
Absolutely great! Compliments to the chef; the pasta special was amazing! Great attentive staff, really enjoyed our dining experience! Highly recommend!
Classic pub. Good food. Friendly staff. Spent a few hours of a rainy day playing pool too.
Clean and tidy staff friendly but the pork belly dry and bottom over cooked? Rice packet and microwaved husband’s steak chewie sorry
Collectively we ordered; Veggie burger, beef burger, chicken burger, pork belly and cheesey garlic bread for entriee.
The food was on the higher end of what you would expect from a small local pub.
Watching the chef prepare our meals, you can see that love went into the plating of the food.
The facilities and decor is what you should expect from a small local pub, getting tired but still full of love.
Salt, salt, salt and more salt.
The fries was horrible only with salt. Ant the asian rice was very spicy (although the waitress says that "it's no spacy").
Impossible to eat.
Wasn't expecting much from a tavern in small town with limited options, but was pleasantly surprised. Oysters super fresh, and the mains were all excellent, and all with a nice vew and relaxing atmosphere.
Unfortunately this was a poor experience - after waiting 50 minutes and seeing others who ordered well after us being served, my seafood linguine lacked discernible seafood and a pile of linguine, however my partner’s fish of the day was a small serve but tasty. A complaint about the wait plus quality saw our meals refunded (not requested). Our bottle of Freycinet Cab Merlot wine was excellent.
Nice little pub across the road from a beautiful beach. Pretty laid back establishment with a few local craft beers (one rotating tap and plenty of cans).
We had a good pub meal here- fish of the day and parma. Friendly staff and cold beer. Great location
Great service, local beer on tap, outside fireplace and had a good veggie burger. Solid choice for dinner in coles bay
This place was a hidden surprise, the food was absolutely delicious!
Whilst the premises may not scream 4/5 star, the food comes through. With friendly staff and a kids playroom, we are going back tonight.
If you are visiting Coles Bay then while you retreat, make sure you take a pit stop here to refresh yourself, grab a drink and listen to live music.
Ordered specials of Ocean trout so greasy and accompanying sourdough bread tasted like animal fat. Very disappointed. Going back to our cabin to cook some toast.
