Ikon Hotel reviews
38Huge rooms with so much space! Fitted out with new and clean carpet, furniture and bathroom. Decor is a bit boring with a bit too much brown. Great prices in the extensive mini bar, $4 beers is the best I have seen. Breakfast was just Kellogg's cereal and yoghurt as expected.
Far better than I was expecting, immaculately clean and well appointed. There was some road noise, but hardly a deal breaker. Would stay again without doubt.
Wonderful building but awful place to stay. Hardest most uncomfortable bed i have EVER had to sleep on. And So noisy the windows carnt be prperly shut so you have to cope with all the road noise all night with trucks going past. Just dont stay there they are not interested in your comfort.
Absolutely amazing value for money. We had been tricked by places in the past having great pictures and not so great when you get there but the ikon pictures don't do the place justice it's amazing value for money rooms are soo massive came with continental breakfast for free and extremely clean and fresh environment. Food in the restaurant is also value for money and taste great would highly recommend staying here to see all that burnie and the surroundings have to offer.
Beautiful appointed and spacious room (2). Bright and airy. Very accommodating staff. Great views from the room and balcony. Will stay again. ️
Stayed here for 4 nights. It was better than what I was expecting in Burnie and the suite was a very good size and very clean.
Service was very good too.
Rooms were big (especially bathroom), furniture and bed were comfortable, and minibar price was reasonable. Only minor discrepancy is that the outside traffic could be heard quite easily.
I stayed here on a work trip for two nights. The room was very clean, and was actually quite impressive in terms of the fit out - the bathroom was huge, as was the living area and I had plenty of space. The WiFi included was also pretty good. However the room got quite stuffy overnight as there weren't any fans, nor any air-conditioning. Also there was not much insulation from the street noise, and you could hear everything going on outside. Lastly, at about 5am what sounded like a large group of birds started banging around on the roof on both mornings which made it difficult to get back to sleep after being woken. But despite this, I would probably recommend as it was fairly priced, well fit out and in a very convenient spot.
The room is SPACIOUS and updated. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location. We had one of our best sleep in their king size bed. We enjoyed our stay here and we would definitely come back again.
One thing to note is that there's no elevator in the building (due to being heritage listed) - so be prepared to use the stairs.
Even though the carpark at the back of the hotel is limited, they have basement carpark available a few metres from the hotel.
Great find in this town. Helping staff. Huge rooms, modern clean furniture, crisp white linen with a doona. Also has a little kitchenette.
The best hotel in Burnie - which isn't saying much. The rooms are adequate but the restaurant on the ground floor (nothing to do with the hotel) is depressingly awful. There really isn't a good reason to come here if you don't have to
Fantastic choice. Very professionally run and excellent, fully renovated rooms. Highly recommended
Great place to stay. Wasnt expecting this in Burnie. Well appointed, clean, modern rooms with high ceilings. Staff were very helpful. Location is great as it is in the middle of town with Coles, restaurants and other shops a 2 min walk away. Only negative is a lack of aircon for the room. A very good floor fan is provided however doesn't quite help on those hot muggy summer days. Room can feel a little stuffy as a result.
A very unique and interesting Hotel with large rooms high ceilings large bathroom area huge bed very modern and chic and also the restaurant underneath is awesome (Mecca Restaurant) and situated in the middle of the city which is ideal highly recommended
I was really surprised with this place. Rooms were great; large, clean and well equipped. Great location. Would recommend this to anyone.
Unbelievably good service - compassionate care when we were in trouble at 2am. Can't recommend this place enough. Steve deserves a medal!
The food was great as usual. The only problem was the pesto sauce on the spinach and fetta pizza had to be swapped
