Holm Oak Vineyards reviews
46We loved this place, the self guide garden where you can pic up some fruits, walk around, enjoy the atmosphere, all the smells, favours it's an amazing experience the person whi served us was friendly, informative and welcoming. Definitely going back and highly recommend.
I enjoyed my visit to Holm Oak greatly and highly recommend it. The scenery was beautiful, the garden gorgeous and full of fragrant roses, the doggos friendly, and the hosts so friendly and helpful. A generous tasting for $10 was much enjoyed by my friend, while I enjoyed gourmet cheese and other nibbles from their picnic pantry. Great experience overall whether tasting or not.
We're locals and we love this place. Great wines fantastic cellar door. Informative staff. Do yourself a solid. Don't miss this winery.
Holm Oak Vineyard in Rowella, Tasmania, is a hidden gem for wine enthusiasts. As a small winemaker and vigneron, their dedication to crafting exceptional wines is truly evident in their Pinot Noir. Without a doubt, it's one of the best I've ever had and now holds a special place as my favorite.
The Pinot Noir from Holm Oak Vineyard is an absolute masterpiece. From the Hotshot to the Wizard to the imbibable estate. The attention to detail and the passion they pour into their craft is evident in every sip.
The vineyard's location in Rowella, Tasmania, adds to the charm of the experience. The beautiful surroundings and the tranquil atmosphere make each visit a memorable one. I can't wait to go back.
Holm Oak Vineyard is a must-visit for any wine connoisseur. If you're in Tasmania and appreciate an outstanding Pinot Noir, this is the place to be. It's an absolute delight and a testament to the incredible wines that Tasmania has to offer.
Thanks Bec!
Friendly staff and perfect set-up for a relaxed tasting. The wines were outstanding! Highly recommend. Wander through the sensory garden. Delightful way to end the visit.
This winery is way more family friendly than what the internet seems to suggest, not only do they have the pig feeding, but they also have colouring activity packs, a couple of baskets of toys and a padded changing table. The other nice touch, which we missed due to timing of the year, is that they have the trees/bushes just out front of the tastes you expect in the wines e.g. Pear, peach
Beyond that, we were served by a lovely lady (sorry, I forgot her name) that described wonderful tasting notes, though it should be noted we went mid week when they were quiet (just managing expectations). They have some wonderful wines, which I could still tell the quality in those that were not of my preferred tastes.
Whilst we didn't take advantage of it, the ability to create your own cheese and charcuterie serving plate seems like a great idea.
Great selection of wines. Staff friendly and knowledgeable and dogs also friendly. Great to be able to select wines to taste and choose your own charcueterie board to accompany the wine
Had a great time at Holm Oak Vineyards today. Fiona was amazing with her knowledge of the wines. We left with some lovely wine and muscat, felt extremely happy with our time spent there.
Wonderful wines! Everything was great, and everyone was lovely.
We liked that you can choose the wine for the tastings and you can choose the cheese platter.
Well worth the drive. It got really busy on Monday luckily we arrived early. Local products for purchase at reasonable prices to enjoy with your wine tasting
Really great tasting experience!
Tasted 8 wines & selected cheeses & smoked ham & some deli items from the shop / pantry- all on the balcony.
Ended up buying several bottles - loved the Pinot & Chardonnay

A planned short visit turned into a lovely long couple of hours. It was gorgeous-the driveway is lined with big old trees, the cellar door and surrounds beautiful. We were lucky enough to have Fiona for our seated tasting and she was awesome, very knowledgable and genuinely friendly. There is a range of really well structured tasting options-we were able to take a mix of premium and standard flights.
Not a lot of wineries were open on Wednesday so it got pretty busy but we were always looked after. Fiona, without any fuss found time to pack up our mixed dozen of Tamar wines and join us up to the wine club and bring us yet another glass of the delicious sparkling rose! We made up our DIY tasting boards and sat around eating & drinking, pottering around the garden, feeding the pigs & patting the visiting labrador. I don't see what more you could ask for-it was perfect! Thanks again-looking forward to our wines arriving:)
Friendly and knowledgeable staff in a lovely setting. Dog-friendly. In addition to the wine tasting there is a selection of "DIY charcuterie" available on site - grab your cheese, small goods, crackers and accouterments from their pantry and enjoy on the deck.
Recently visited Holm Oak and overwhelmed by the quality of wines on offer. The 2022 riesling was most impressive displaying a citrus/floral aroma, beautiful mineralised acid and long lasting flavour. Although still very young this wine is a winner. The 2021 Wizard chardonnay was another standout exhibiting an elegant, delicate stone fruit/citrus character beautifully balanced with oak. Loved and bought some pinot as well.
We had a great time. Thank you to the lady staff member who looked after us she was superb.
We visited Holm Oaks on an organised wine tour and loved the wines!
Knowledgeable staff and beautiful surrounds … the fire and dogs added a cosy feeling as well!
Surprisingly being able to feed their pet pigs an apple … fun!
Just received my wine from Holm Oak. Ordered on their web site. Excellent service, easy process, wine well packed and of coarse great wine! I drink to that! Highly recommended.
I loved going there it's a shame it's closed to the public though great that they are still selling there lovely tasting wines.
Lovely setting, top quality wines and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Pinot noir range is a standout.
This place is lovely. There is an option for DIY cheese platter with anything from the shelf which is different and fun. They have a great wine collection. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly and also passionate about wine. Ordering online is also super easy and delivery is quick.
Great, easy to drink wine and a friendly atmosphere (and staff!). With the beautiful views it's definitely a perfect place to spend a couple of hours.
