So many Historical sites and towns to visit and Highfield is another one of those.situated next to the Nut in Stanley this site is an nice place to visit as most of the buildings there are stall mostly in tack and been done up nicely, the donations from the good people of the it me to make it look like just like it would back in the day makes the experience even better.

This thoughtfully restored 1830's homestead has much to offer. A stroll through the main house, outhouses and beautiful gardens and grounds offers a comprehensive view of life from this bygone era. I have visited several times and always enjoy the experience.

Amazing place & history. Learn how a few upper class twits made life unbearable for all those around them and how to fail at business! Don't miss it.

Great job of restoring a unique piece of Tasmanian history. Spent an enjoyable hour or do wandering and immersing ourselves into another era.

Wow what an incredible insight into the beginnings of Tasmania. Great staff that are very knowledgeable. Not really recommend for children or teenagers as they may find it boring. Very interesting.

Second time we have been. Equally as great as the first time. A great insight into the start of European settlement in this part of Australia.

Here's a bit of history I knew nothing about. It might have been list. Good on the Tasmania Parks Service for saving this important legacy. Wonderful views. Well worth visiting.

Love this site. So amazingly restored. Difficult history, but nonetheless historically significant. The ruthlessness of the settlers apparently unparalleled. I am grateful for the opportunity to feel the indigenous pain. And for the saving of such a significant site. Plus I love the architecture

Amazing place. Staff are so informative and helpful. The history of this place is amazing. I think we learnt more here about the colony and it's hard workers and convicts than we did in school. It's an eye opener about how rough it was and how some of the ladies coming over were disappointed with it when they arrived. But how can you not love Tasmania ️ it is absolutely stunning and same with this home. The up keep is amazing and very costly. Cheap entrance fee and so worth the stroll around. Love how the rooms are done to show us what they had back in their time. Love love love this place. Do stop in when your up visiting Stanley.
