Hearth Pizza & Small Plates reviews
40 Best pizza I’ve had in Hobart!
Service was great, warm fireplaces!
Walked past and had $5 beer/wine and half price pizzas!
Great little restaurant, doing it tough during the covid times. The water was a great bloke and very friendly and helpful. Good food at a good price.
Wonderful atmosphere with nice music and fireplaces. The girl working on the floor is a magician, looking after tables and all the fireplaces by herself! The food is veeeeeery nice, tasty and filling, warm and avarage prize! Def reccomended and a come back!
What a hidden little gem this place is! Amazing food, wonderful waitress and cosy open fire to enjoy our wine. Do yourself a favour and try this restaurant, will definitely be back!
So disappointed. Had Cheesy Garlic bread and Beef Cheek. The bread was burnt and the Beef Cheek was so fatty. It came with 3 tiny pieces of potato and asparagus. It was disgusting. So expensive too. Don't waste your money. Better value elsewhere, beleive me! WON'T BE GOING BACK.
The menu is far more extensive than the advertised pizzas and small plates. We all chose from the main menu and we were delighted. The salmon was freshly prepared and cooked to perfection. The beef cheeks were falling apart and again cooked to perfection. The risotto was described as divine. All the dishes were nicely presented and had clearly been freshly cooked to order.
I had my launch party for my business here last year and have visited the place several times. I must say that this place never fails to amaze me. The chef Jay is extremely passionate about his food and I have grown fond of this place. The beautiful fireplace and aesthetics also make the atmosphere amazing. Love the food, vibes and environment. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Great pizza and atmosphere in this cosy place. We even had the owners playing music and singing after finishing for the night.
Really nice pizza, good value and able to taste everything! The atmosphere was very relaxing, I really enjoyed eating here.
Amazing food. Pizza with perfect traditional Italian crust and quality share plates. Great friendly service. Great atmosphere and the meals were served quickly. Great place for the whole family!
Great bunch of very energetic team and food was yum for a very reasonable price.
Value, quality and atmosphere all bundled together. How good is that.
Highly recommended
I was a bit concerned with what kind of place we'd wandered into when we arrived as we were the only diners and the FOH staff member was wearing activewear. The food was quite good - garlic cheese sticks were lovely, the arancini was nice however the risotto was a bit wetter than expected. I was quite bemused when asked if we'd like ice for our byo white wine, I said yes expecting an ice bucket; I was surprised by the arrival of a glass of ice cubes and a spoon. Not somewhere I'll go back to at this stage, I'm afraid.
It took over an hour to get the food and it wasn’t worth the money spent on it. The service didn’t understand and they spoke too quietly and we couldn’t understand what they were saying. Don’t go there
We had a beautiful intimate dinner. The pork belly was delicious! Our waiter was very friendly and kind. I would definitely recommend.
Went in last night for a farewell dinner, well, well, well this place needs to bid Hobart farewell! We were there at 7pm, when we arrived there was 1 other table we had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. After we sat down we had to request water for the table, we then ordered some wine and were told that the waitress would return in “just a minute” 25 minutes later we are still waiting to order meals. We ordered the piri piri chicken with duck fat ‘potatoes’ I stress potatoes as that is what the menu reads - what we received was 2 tiny pieces of chicken, 3 spinach leaves and 1 POTATO. We also ordered the risotto which came with hazelnuts, the hazelnuts were no where to be found and had been replaced with petitas, the waitress informed us that they had sold out of hazelnuts- this would become all the more ridiculous later in the evening. We also had the gnocchi which was very uneventful. When we finally got the waitresses attention again we attempted to order another bottle of wine, there are 4 red wines on their menu and low and behold 3 out of 4 we sold out. A place that is not even busy sold out of 3/4 of the wines on offer. We had a chat to the waitress after our meals as she steered clear of our table throughout the evening and hid in the kitchen both our table and the one other in the restaurant had to go to the kitchen to get her attention. After we got her attention in the end we notified her of our subpar experience to which we were granted with a $3 discount. $3 off a $168 table? That was the icing on the cake! That is beyond insulting, no I am not in search of a free meal but as a general rule offer 10% when you cannot deliver what you advertise. Rest assured I will never return to Hearth again, and as a Hobart local who often eats out this has been my worst experience in Hobart thus far. Steer clear if you can (as most already have considering it is so empty)
Decided to try this little 'tucked away' eatery on the way home from work. Making a reservation was simple and easy online for a basic reservation for four.
The food was delicious! Those crispy wings were the best I've eaten from an eatery in a while, the kids loved the pizza and chicken nuggets. The hubby demolished his pizza quickly, yet came away full and satisfied.
The staff were attentive, friendly and professional.
The 'open fireplace' room added to the ambience and we will be returning again.and again, and again!
What a great find. Delicious food, attentive service and cozy atmosphere. Enjoyed the whole night, I will be back!
My partner and I went for dinner, but we should have walked out the door when we noticed that there were no other guests at the restaurant. I give this place 2 stars because the building itself was nice and the prices were reasonable. However, the food was a disaster. The arancini were bland and topped with a horrible jam. The vegetarian pasta was so spicy, that you could not taste anything - and that says a lot considering I enjoy chili. The icing on the cake was that the beer my partner was served expired 2 months ago, but we did not see the expiry date until it was too late. I would not recommend this restaurant. This is a hard pass from me.
The best pizza in Hobart and if you love beer their Sherpa beer is awesome. Friendly staff and great environment.
Friendly staff, nice ambience (lots of space and log fire was lovely). Food was good, and happy hour pizza at half price was a bargain!
