Should’ve read the reviews before booking!
Goodness, where to start…. Very dirty stained carpets, earwigs in the shower/toilet, toilet holder fell off, lights not working, very old stained towels with holes in them. The garden was very unkept, this place looked nothing like it did in the bookings. We had to use all of our sense of humour to get us through the night.
On a positive the place looked very nice lit up at night with the fairy lights. And I’m sure it would’ve have once been a lovely place in its day.

Needs a very big tidy. There was a dirty tissue in the bedroom. A tripping hazard pay me yeah in bathroom door that was bad enough to cut toes. Told them they didn’t seem to care.mold on iron board cover. And just junk around the yard. Broken furniture night. Would never stay there again. Almost $400 for one night. Not happy. Do not recommend.

Very misrepresented if you visit the website. When it was originally built I'm sure it would have been a different scenario. Has suffered years of neglect.

Didn't have a good experience in the cottage. King size bed too hard to sleep on. No shower.water dizzled out. Musty smell throughout. Looks pretty on the outside but needs work.

We were very disappointed with so many aspects of our stay. Our parking spot for the hire care was on slippery, wet, unmowed grass. Our cottage was very old and dated with uncomfortable seating and beds. Lighting in the bathroom is very poor and the on-site restaurant needs a good clean. We saw a dead cockroach on the floor and the owner's dogs were running around the eating area and the kitchen. The owners seemed very nice, but the online pictures are not the reality we found, sad to say.

Had a room booked, picked up the key and had been in the room, only to have our stay cancelled, because someone had made a booking online after we had already been there and they get priority apparently. We were offered another room, nothing at all like the one we had originally booked, that 'hadn't been used in a while' and needed to be aired out and cleaned prior to us being able to use it. The owner was not at all apologetic. Terrible service. Would not recommend.

Badly dated and inadequately maintained. Not super-clean and not great value (we were charged $15 for Coco-pops which is obv bad enough but breakfast is advertised at $13).
Would recommend staying elsewhere. The surrounds and town are nice. Check your bill before you pay.

Absolutely disgusting. Would never recommend. Spiders and hair in the bed. Heaters all broken or leaking Gas so badly it wasn’t safe and we all got sick. Cutlery and bowls dirty, cockroaches and wasps. Dust and used used hand wash and shower gel. Stains on the sheets and on top of bed covers. Only enough hot water for 1 person. Spa broken. Towels stained. Some lights broken. Chair has a staple coming out of it. Dirt incubated light switches. Wet toilet paper. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. Truely disgusting. We all had to sleep in our clothes, our T-shirts covering dirty worn pillow cases it was so freezing and dirty. Something out of a nightmare.

We had no heating as the heater only blew out cold air so it was an extremely cold night also we had to clean the spa as it was full of hair and the cutlery and untensils where wet and full of water as they was not dried from the stay before us. Would not recommend as the owner had no remorse!

Very run down hotel. More like a 2 star that the 4 star hotel they claim to be. I felt very upset with the very rundown room and the mattress was terrible. I could not sleep at all. We pay top dollars for the 2 nights we stayed and i felt taken advantage off. Full of spiders our room and a terrible odour. They need to really work hard to make it cleaner and nicer very disappointed. I would like my money back.

We stayed one night after being booked and recommended by a travel agent. Dirty is an understatement and highly overpriced. Would never stay here again and would not recommend.

Place needs money spent on it. Aged furnishings, not that theres anything wrong with that, budget accommodation is a good thing but it's not a big ask to expect clean. Needs new cleaners, very dirty. Unit was in a disgusting state. Lots of dog poo on veranda also. Definitely not recommended.

Our roof top camper is more warm and cosier than the executive suite. Actually, I'm sure King Arthur would of had more comfort.

Dinner no wine list NO Tasmanian wines Choice of 4 beers all light. Toilet access door locked and outside NO light. Owners didn't care.dirty cups /cutlery, curtin fell of rails owner said "the Chinese Tourists" were to blame. The place was dark dingy run down. It was obvious no maintenace or up keep is carried out. Shower arm wouldn't stay up It was cold the air conditioner/heater didn't work and was so noisy it had to be switched off. When i told the owner she kicked it several times to make it work which of course didn't work. Cob webs.

Could not wait to leave this place and found it depressing. Rooms not clean particularly bathroom floor. Our door was very hard to open and close. Needs lots of maintenance and upgrading to rooms. Bed not comfy. Sheets and towels (threadbare) very old. Pillows lumpy so not much sleep. Tried restaurant for dinner another bad experience. Table not wiped down and still had food on it from previous diners. Ordered garlic bread but did not get it. Ordered two deserts only got one etc. Dont think waitress/housekeeper can understand english. Food bland and better options in Richmond or Sorell to eat. Owners dog running around in restaurant. Carpet hasn't had a vac for a while. Topped off by a toad hopping out from under the bed! Worst stay of our Tassie holiday.

We have been travelling around Tasmania for nearly 3 weeks and our stay at Hatchers Manor in Richmond was the worst standard of accommodation we experienced. Our room was not only in need of maintenance but very unclean also. The bed and pillows very uncomfortable as was the lounge. Sheets and towels were very old & need to be replaced. Had one meal at restaurant which was terrible. Very bad hygiene. Waitress does not seem to understand English as what we ordered was not what we got. Very poor level of service from restaurant staff and housekeeping was the same. A bad experience and would not recommend.

The room was average but we had people upstairs to us and party all night so it was the worst night EVER

The accommodation is very basic, the heating didn’t work and got charged extra by paying in person the next morning.
Both my wife and I were going to book online for $182 for a night with our 2 kids but instead the woman at the desk who is the owner wanted $249.00
After telling her about her online amount she then reduced to $230.00
I prefer staying at owner managed accommodation but some people leave a bad taste for the rest of the people trying to make a living.
All the best Jannet.

Very dated decor and needed a really good clean. Rooms are large but lighting not useful. No heater in bathroom. Towels very thin. Bed not very comfortable either. Had dinner here the first night and was ok. Breakfast was ordinary. Is close to Richmond and has nice views. If you had kids they would enjoy the animals and being able to run around.

This accommodation is not for everyone. It’s a vision of the owners, built by them in the 1990's. The property is quirky, built in a Tudor manor house style with Tudor furnishings. A bit over the top with the decor. Less is sometimes the best, to much look just plain odd. Our room was large but dark, with an explosion of different colours from floor to ceiling. The room had a musky smell about it and needed dusting. The bedding, linen and towels were very thin and worn. Not inviting. Our impression was that maybe they need to concentrate on guests needs, quality of the essential, along with general room maintenance, giving a better overall quality, look and freshness. Photos make it look picturesque but with a closer look, overall the premises is starting to show signs of needing maintenance. We did not have any meals there so unable to comment. Family that run the manor were welcoming and friendly.
