Beautiful rooms with wonderful views. Friendly staff and quite central, short walk to restaurants and market.
MY LIFE PARTNER / SPOUSE STAYED HERE FROM 1-7 JULY. THE HOTEL IS FANTASTIC. IT IS AN 8-ROOM ' PRIVATE ' HOTEL, AND OHSO DELIGHTFUL! LARGE ROOMS, A SPA BATH AT LEAST IN OUR ROOM, LARGE WINDOWS TO THE BEDROOM, AND THE HOTEL HAS PANACHE AND AMBIANCE. TRISH AND AGA, THE 2 X PERSONS WHOM MANAGE THE HOTEL, ARE LOVELY AND VERY APPROACHABLE, AND, WILL ASSIST AT EVERY AND ANY TURN. THE HOTEL IS TRULY OLD-WORLD AND EXUDES CHARM AND PERSONALITY. JANET AND I WILL BE RETURNING TO THE GRAND VUE. THE HOTEL RECEIVES A STUNNING 5-STARS. PEOPLE, DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR, AND, IF / WHEN YOU STAY IN HOBART, STAY AT THE GRAND VUE.
Hotel was a little tricky to find, as it is located in the middle of a residential district and blends in well as one of the residential houses. Keep an eye out for a red bricked building when driving along Mona Street!
Parking is just outside the hotel, along the street. The kind staff will provide you with a plaque to leave at your dashboard for free parking.
The room we had was very lovely, with a beautiful sea view, as requested. Clean, cosy, rustic and very comfortable. We spent an afternoon chilling in it because it was so comfy!
