Grande Vue Hotel

What a dream! The Grande Vue Hotel is way better than a home away from home. Ash and Brock have amazing taste and know how to add style and comfort. 3 of us stayed for 7 nights, over Christmas, and every day we stayed was perfect. From very comfortable beds to rushing to the kitchen to see what delicious treats Brock or his mum had baked for us! Extra touches like make up removal face towels to luxurious towelling robes… I had to be persuaded to take mine off when leaving the room! The views from our window were of the yacht harbour and watching the boats and rowing activities was captivating. We also got to enjoy the garden and had a lovely BBQ on Christmas Day (Ash’s suggestion, providing us with a BBQ).
I highly recommend that the Grande Vue Hotel is a must for anyone visiting Hobart… don’t get me started on the amazing things to do from there on an electric scooter or on foot!

An exquisite little gem. Superbly located in Battery point, close to the harbourside pubs, galleries, views it is peaceful with stunning views to the sea and mountain. More importantly, Ash the host, has thought of every need to provide a full range of self service breakfast options and even provided a BBQ for our Christmas meal. The house is full of character, wonderfully decorated and furnished with public rooms to relax in. Our bedroom was superb with the most comfortable bed I have enjoyed for years. Thanks for a great experience.

The Grandview Hotel Amazing as it was, from the interior furnishings and exquisite style to the view from our room is hugely complimented by our host and Ashley! One of the loveliest hotels I have ever stayed. This hotel was everything, I loved the interior inside and the room was a stunner
The view from the room was amazing and lovely and gave homey feeling.

It was a very easy checked in and Ash was so responsive and nice.
The location was also strategically located, very nearby to Salamanca Market (yup, we walked and that was not far anyway)

Absolutely unique hotel and experience. The hotel exudes a warm welcome, from the spacious communal sitting rooms, to the deliciously aromatic (and well stocked) kitchen, to the comfortable and elegant dining room, to the luxurious, tastefully furnished rooms. It was like coming home, if you lived in a gorgeous, grand home of great taste. We had high expectations and they were universally exceeded. Thank you Brock, Ashley and staff. We are coming back, see you around the 26th of May!

Ash was super helpful with the check in, the room looked way better in person compared to the photos (which were already stunning), best bath I've had in my life, cooking supplies and tools were a huge bonus in the kitchen and the communal rooms/pleasantries were super thoughtful - We will definitely come back when we're in Tassie next!

Incredible! I don't think there is anything else like the Grand Vue Hotel. It isn't a hotel or a B&B - it's more like a luxurious home away from home. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the views are incredible overlooking the harbour. It is close to the markets and wharves, and lots of cute restaurants, cafes and pubs close by. The first thing people do when they stay is take photos of the hotel and the rooms because it is so beautiful - the attention to detail is exceptional. The kitchen is stocked with coffee and tea, tasty homemade pastries, breakfast cereal and varieties of bread, fruit, yoghurt etc and available at any time of the day so you can eat [breakfast or a snack] whenever you like. We had a late flight out and it was no problem to leave our bags and return at the end of the day for a cup of tea and cake whilst enjoying the view overlooking the harbour from the dining room. This gorgeous home is a must when visiting Hobart. Ashley is like your super helpful best friend. Thank you!

Lovely accommodation, with great views and a beautiful interior. Lots of extra touches with fresh flowers, complimentary Port, fruit and baked treats in the shared kitchen. Ash was a fantastic host. We are looking forward to staying again next time we are in Hobart.

Ashley is the perfect host. Warm and generous hospitality, beautifully appointed clean and comfortable rooms, lovely friendly staff. Walking distance to Salamanca Place and waterfront. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at the Grande Vue Hotel, right on the heart of Hobart CBD in the most fashionable, modern prestige suburb. The hotel was amazing, with a vintage look and incredible views from our room. We were so close to everything that we didn’t touch our car while we stayed there. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! We went for a walk to Kelly’s steps, Salamanca (they have an amazing street market as well!), Hobart waterfront and enjoyed the cafes and restaurants around the area.
We had such a great time!

Definitely want to stay here again if we come back to Hobart. It's a fantastic location with views of the harbour, not to mention the fabulously decorated heritage house and friendly owners

My husband & I stayed at Grande Vue for five nights. What a fabulous boutique hotel it is. So close to Salamanca & right in the heart of Battery Point. The room was beautiful with amazing views & had everything in it that you needed including a Nespresso coffee machine. The hosts Ashley & Brock were so hospitable & made our stay so pleasant. Thank you. We can’t wait to come back again next year.

Beautiful heritage hotel with a homely feel and personal touches. The service from Ashley was so warm and welcoming. The added touches of quality locally made compliments made it feel extra special. We were in the turrets room with beautiful bay window views. We would love to stay again when back in Hobart.

My wife and I spent the last night of our honeymoon at this wonderful establishment.

The rooms at the Grand Vue Hotel do not disappoint. Beautifully decorated, comfortable and cosy. The view, was indeed grand. Overlooking the river, sunrise was an experience not to be missed.

Staff were accommodating and friendly throughout our stay and went above and beyond what anyone could expect.

My wife and I will return and stay again in future.

We stayed in 2018 and loved the location enough to return in 2021. New owners Ash & Brock have breathed new life in this lovely old manor. We felt so welcomed and nurtured, the homely touches weren’t overlooked and felt utterly indulgent.

Very sad this hotel does not allow babies to stay. Why? My four month year old sleeps 8 hours straight and brings his own portacot.

The view, the beautiful room and furnishings. The morning breakfast that was satisfying to start to the day.

The closeness to restaurants, and authentic Shippys pub and Salamanca markets.

I was just looking over my wedding photos and remembered the picture perfect place we stayed during our wedding (elopement) preparations and honeymoon. The owners were so lovely and accommodating, the views were fantastic, the room very romantic - with gorgeous furniture, beautiful linens and such a homey, warm, cosy feel to it all.
