Our recent stay at Strahan Franklin Manor in Tasmania was truly exceptional.

We were immediately captivated by the historic charm of this 127-year-old manor, which made our experience unique and unforgettable.

The old-world ambiance of the Manor transported us back in time while providing all the modern comforts we needed.

The warm and welcoming service from the staff was a true highlight. Their genuine hospitality and readiness to assist with any request made us feel like valued guests rather than just visitors.

Our experience at Strahan Franklin Manor exceeded our expectations, and we can't wait to return.

Quiet gardens surround, old world charm & all staff are friendly. Warm fires in both lounge rooms, even in Oct much appreciated.

In a lovely location, staff were very helpful and continental breakfast very nice. However my room was not, fridge not working shower ran all night curtains hanging down and wooden surround around wash basin was black. In desperate need of money spending on it. Not 4 star!

Wunderschönes historisches Hotel. Bei Checkin so freundlich von Lincoln empfangen, ein Ort, um sich sofort willkommen zu fühlen. Buchung der Fahrt auf dem Gordon River sofort durch Rezeption erledigt. Liebevoll eingerichtetes Zimmer, mit Blick in den Garten. Überaus freundliches Personal, köstliches Frühstück. Da ich erkältet war, wurde mir von Lincoln heisse Zitrone mit Honig serviert. Schade, dass wir dort nur 2 Nächte verbringen durften. Hatte leider mein Reisemaskottchen dort vergessen, per e-mail angefragt, sehr schnelle Antwort.
Das Maskottchen wird mir per Post nach Deutschland geschickt. Hier kann sich jeder Gast als etwas Besonderes fühlen!

Old world charm. Delightful staff. Cosy, warm and comfortable room. Thankyou Chantel you made everyone feel comfortable and relaxed at breakfast time. We met some lovely people on our 2 night stay. Highly recommend Franklin Manor. A short beautiful walk into town, everything just getting back on it’s feet after Covid. Lots of eating places closed down which is sad to see. You will need to book before you arrive in Strahan. Difficult to find staff, you are all doing a wonderful job. Keep up the good work.

Great atmosphere and the care takers were very friendly and accommodating. The room was beautiful and the bed was amazingly comfy. Breakfast was included in the price and it was excellent…. Only complaint was they didn’t do a hot breakfast for this winter weather … but we’ll be going back there again next time we’re here.

No problems from us. The online booking was easy, the check-in was simple, the receptionist was warming, the host Lincoln the ultra-professional, the room cosy and clean, the breakfast and coffee superb, the location completed two magnificent nights.

Beautiful, character filled 19th century harbour master’s house. Cosy, large rooms with all the comforts. Wonderful, helpful manager, Lincoln. Would definitely stay again.

Desperately in need of a refurbishment. Very tired old rooms, bathroom from the 50s. I'd guess price is based on location, not quality of accommodation Staff are great, facility let's them down

We loved every minute of our 2 night stay at Franklin Manor. From the minute we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful. The manor was exactly as we hoped, with its old world charm, where not everything was perfect but beautifully presented. The continental breakfast was delicious. But our favorite thing was the guest lounge with a roaring fireplace. Would definitely recommend Franklin Manor

Very quaint. Beautiful decor. Meal was delightful. Owners and staff were lovely. Lincoln was extremely friendly and accommodating.

Booking online was so easy and from the start I was hooked. The majestic look of the manor I immediately fell in love with and to see it in person was even more spectacular. Chris & Leanne the new owners and the staff could not be more accomodating to help and make us feel so welcome and comfortable. Strahan is a beautiful paradise on the west coast of Tasmania with the Manor so close within walking distance of the main street facilities. Continental breakfast was fresh and filling with the fresh danish every morning as an extra bonus. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with the option of heating if you wish to travel in winter.all sitting rooms are comfortable with open fireplaces which makes it even more attractive especially for those cold nights and the view out the big bay windows of the back verandah into the garden with the huge pine trees is so calming. Without a doubt, Franklin Manor exceeded all my expectations and more of a grand old lady over 100 years old.

We had a really wonderful time at Franklin Manor. Chris and Leanne were great hosts. Chris made the best cocktails and guests enjoyed them in the beautiful lounge with a cozy fire place. The residence it conveniently located within walking distance to everywhere you need to go.

Good place great friendly staff could do with a small coffee table and bit more flat area to place things and fridge needs to be a bit bigger or not ne full of drinks if you need to store your own stuff even though they don't mind you taking their drinks out, but I would stay there again

We really enjoyed our first night in Tasmania staying in this majestic home. Marcus, the owner, and his lovely dog were welcoming and we felt as if nothing was a bother. Thank you Marcus from the three of us.

Very comfortable old (1896) house. All ensuited rooms. Good breakfast in a pleasant dining room. Board games room, fireplaced lounge & sitting area.

Amazing stylish old building with beautiful garden and veranda. Cellar with a big range of wines is available for guests. Big room with very comfortable bed is cozy and clean. Delicious breakfast. We were very impressed with this accommodation. One thing we probably would like to recommend. Breakfast service was really slow. It takes nearly hour to get food. Other than that was fantastic
