Empire Hotel Deloraine

Stayed on 2nd floor, room beautifully renovated, great bathroom. Beautiful old pub with original looking furnishings. Loved the "common room" breakfast and chatting with other guests. Great location, although we missed out on the platypus that others saw.

We tried the different hotels for meals in Deloraine and the Empire Hotel was tops. Best food, best wine selection and best service. Very enjoyable.

Had dinner and some beers, awesome pub.
Wanted to stay longer and the misso made me go home.

$22 Tahini salad was inedible, I gave it to my sister for her chooks. Hoping they will eat it. Niece's carrot dish was half raw and tasteless, floury wierd coloured chips. The cook might at least taste the food before putting it on the menu.

Meal ok but iced coffee looked and tasted like milk. Not receptive to asking for extra coffee. Don’t ask the question is everything ok if your not interested in the answer. Won’t be back!

I went to the cafe in the downstairs area of the hotel. The service is very good, the waitresses are very friendly. The tea is great (it comes with all the bells and whistles) and the sticky date pudding is even better! It is very cozy as well, a lovely space to just relax and have your afternoon tea. If I come through Deloraine again I will return to this cafe!

We only stopped for dinner so cannot make comment to anything else. Waitresses were amazing, sadly that is where the joy ends as the food was terrible. Steak murdered, fish slab more closely related to a brick, calamari was useful as spare shoelaces, and most definitely didn't miss you with their prices which is the reason I felt this review for others was necessary, unfortunately a big miss for us.

Have to say … don’t order the chicken burger, it has these two very small pieces of dried out chicken. Can hardly taste any chicken. Husbands beef burger looked unreal)

A very comfortable accommodation highly recommended and the evening meals were delicious so was the wine list. A very friendly place

Very welcoming accommodation with hospitality rarely found these days. Staff are excellent, and work very hard in this popular hotel. Local hotel regulars add to the atmosphere in the bar, and are very friendly.
Mark the Proprietor took us on a dusk Platypus tour on his day off, which was very much appreciated! And we saw some Platypus!

Clean and Friendly place to stay with an excellent restaurant. (And warm electric blankets make for a great sleep)

Staff made everything so easy, from booking rooms to ordering dinner. After being in a tent for a week, the clean rooms and fresh sheets were just what we needed. Great location on the main street. Dinner at the pub was extraordinary good. Beef cheeks and salt and pepper squid were divine. Thanks to you all for such a lovely night!

This pub is a must stay or visit. The Managers were exceptional. 17 peeps for dinner and yum yum yum.

Had an excellent mushroom risotto, for dinner after being lucky enough to take the publicans platypus tour on dusk. We were treated to a couple of them out feeding.

Such a nice place, the smoked trout dish with Russian potatoes was very yummy. Service was really good. Will definitely come back.

Staff were lovely, rooms exceptionally clean, free platypus walks! This was an all round lovely place to stay and I would definitely come back. Thanks for a great few days!

Loved the art exhibition. The food & service couldn't have been better. Came with a group of 12 on a busy day & they managed it beautifully. Highly recommend.

I thank all what the Hotel has offered to me, the accommodation, the food and the fantastic platypus tour. I missed the Saturday tour and decided to stay one more night. Mark brought me, the only single person in the Sunday tour, along the river to search platypus, a lot of knowledge about platypus I was given. I feel Empire Hotel Deloraine is the must-to-stay hotel if you visit Deloraine at your first time.

The Wonderful coconut curry main prawns treat very satisfying and cuppa share a sticky date pudding with a special gem she's priceless that sister.well that takes me back over 30 years ago in my fav aunty May"s home brilliant cook chef standards
