Diamond islands Restaurant & Bar

Should have known earlier that the restaurant existed. One of the nicest meals we ever had with the family in Bicheno. Lovely service, great food and desserts to die for. Certainly will be back on our next trip.

We had a wonderful staycation with friends and family at Diamond Island. The location I second to none and the owners are very polite, courteous and accommodating. While the rooms are somewhat dated, they are fairly clean and being able to have our pets accompany on the vacation was awesome! We had a group of around 25 and they even set up a buffet style dinner for us and everyone appreciated the food. They make seriously good Korean food by the way and having easy access to the beach and plenty of places to walk was cherry on the cake.

This is a lovely hidden gem, with gorgeous views of the beach and water.
Very tranquil, and very family friendly.
Apartments are very clean, and whilst it's not 5 star, it's very comfortable and well appointed. At first thought, the rooms seemed over priced, however, take into account the free penguin viewing, within the property, and the personalised guide, then the value is definitely there. Customer service was lovely and the owners are very approachable.
The Penguin viewing was outstanding. Such an amazing experience to be so close to these beautiful little creatures. Also, the pademelons and wallabies coming to within 3 to 4m was an extra bonus. Enjoyed our stay very much, thank you. Would stay here again, should we visit Tasmania in the future.

This place is really great. Spacious and very clean room with all facilities you need. Walking distance to the beach. We had a wonderful time there.

Huge chalet with good ocean views across the lawns. We stayed here mainly for the penguin parade. Were a little disappointed they didn't take us on the beach we viewed them from a platform on the lawn. Saw a lot more on our own later as we were allowed to borrow the special light. Beautiful experience

Rooms were incredibly dirty. Cobwebs in almost every corner and extensive scale in the kettle. Beds weren’t great, limited seating in the room, and ceilings were very low in loft. Rather overpriced overall and very disappointing

Great little spot, we had no expectations & I think there lies the secret.
Staff were very nice & room was clean with a comfortable bed.
It was just the two of us but if we had younger children wow this would be perfect. Thanks for a great stay, highly recommended.

Great potential upgrades in the works, can only get better.

Firstly the good staff were friendly and helpful penguin viewing was good, great location. The nots so good main bed very hard lounge was also rock hard and not overly clean, bathroom was tired and not up to clean standards a power point in lounge area was comming off the wall towels were old and had a grey tinge. Not sure about food restraunt was only doing room service but it looked like it could have been a great location for a nice place to eat. Overall not worth the money spent but could be excellent with some attention to detail and a few changes.

This place was just a great hidden gem! The accommodation was clean and perfect for a couple and child. Loved the amazing view. Photos will never do it justice. You turn up and there is a playground for the kids, take a stroll to the beach and see beautiful white sand.you would think you were overseas on a private beach! Then as the sunsets, the penguins come out! Just incredible not only did we see them, they wandered past our room! I can not rate this place more highly!

The worst customer service ever! And very old place. The beds are old and hard as rock!

We booked the room with the Spa facility but there was just a small bath! When we talked to the women through the phone, her attitude is the worst ever!

She was trying to fool us in the beginning. She said that there is no Spa facility in this resort. I have been work in here for three years, never see Sap facility.

Sorry lady we been here last year with the great service and Spa facility….
And then she started to say we are fully booked the Spa room is not available… no thing I can do for you. Just refund and you guys can leave.

We went down to office talked to her, there was no spare room with Spa facility. Which means that they charge a room with a bath only for $250 and advertised Spa facility! We drive 2.5 hours to here and she just said refund you guys can leave!

And keep saying what do you want me to do?

That’s how they run the business. From 4.8 stars resort to 3.5 stars. Please stop lying to customer and get rid of your terrible attitude!

Really disappointed with the customer service. The unit we booked was different from the website pictures without a spa bathtub. I asked but the response was, “if you are not happy, we can refund. ” Really bad customer service and all the conversations we had, the responses was really rude and disrespectful. ‘Because we are paying as discount price so we can’t get the same facilities as shown on the website that we supposed to get! ’ That’s ridiculous. Deceiving consumers If I can put zero stars I would.

Beds hard as a rock, Nice view of trees not ocean, not worth the price what so ever, dated, 3 lights were blown, crusty spa bath/shower, lacking necessary maintenance and the occasional penguin, staff are lovely, lots of room for kids to play and for the most part was pretty clean.

Although set in a stunning location, the resort isn’t up to the level it should be at this price point. The bed was rock hard and pillows awful. It was difficult to find the light switches as they were behind kitchen appliances or in strange spots. There was wine and beer glasses but not normal drinking glasses. The bathrooms have been semi renovated, but don’t have a place to put your shower products/shampoos etc. The location and the penguins which walk through the property is what saves it. The manager was friendly and took us to see the penguins which was pretty cool, we also saw some pademelons which were cute. The main house/reception/restaurant/bar is a lovely building also. This could be a lovely spot to holiday in summer.

The accommodation was comfortable and spacious, with convenient access to the beach. However, eating at the on-site restaurant was a big mistake. It was the worst meal by far that we had in Tasmania on our trip. The 'pasta with prawns ' was not pasta at all, but rather egg noodles drenched in oil with a few shrimps. The gyoza were undercooked and chewy (which I explained to the waitress). The Korean fried chicken was essentially very small pieces of hard chicken. Please don't eat at this restaurant.

The rooms need updating and cleaning windows & doors are needed. We had the honeymoon suite & the spa bath plug ring was rusty and is a potential cause of injury.some soap would've been good even though shower gel was provided. 2 little pots of milk was not enough upon arrival.being a honeymoon suite there could've been something nice to welcome a newly we'd couple. We did enjoy our stay though.was a good price

This was a nice bit of family fun. The whole thing is over and done with in just over an hour. We were in low season, but still saw plenty of penguins and also a wombat which was a rarity. The staff were very professional and knowledgeable. We had one chatty tourist on our tour that didn't stop asking questions, but the lovely staff answered every question confidently. Photography is a little tough when everything is bathed in red lights. No flash photography allowed, as expected and respected. Videos seem to be the best bet. But don't expect any cinema quality or Instagram worth content.

No soap, run down rooms, spider infestation, locks rusted and hard to lock and unlock, overly expensive for what it offers.

Excellent accommodation but the room hadn't been used for a very long time as there were Flys on the floor the air cons remote control needex new battery's the long life milk in the fridge was off
The takeaway meals were ordinary alot could be done
Very pet friendly which was amazing Seeing penguin at night was also cool.
