75Our family of four had an awesome time here during the September school holidays. I'd like to give a special shout out to Pru - her friendly manner and detailed knowledge made the joey encounter and devil feedings incredible experiences for us. She even inspired us to stop our car on the way home to pull roadkill off the road in order to help keep the Tasmanian Devils safe from becoming roadkill themselves (we had not thought to do this before her informative presentation). Thank you Pru!
Devils@Cradle was an amazing sanctuary they are saving the beautiful Tasmanian Devils watching them being fed was a fantastic experience.
I did the sunset feeding tour which was awesome with the staff made it so enjoyable as they were so knowledgeable and passionate about what they were doing.
Sunset experience is a must! Very knowledgeable guide, learning about these incredible animals around a campire having drinks and sweets, couldn't ask for anything more! Definitely recommend!
It was rainy and snowy but the devil feed was amazing and then the keeper introduced me to pancake the wombat. She is such a cutie and loved a good pat
We had a wonderful keeper tour with Prue followed by the Joey experience with Renae. Pancake was definitely a highlight but the Sanctuary overall is well worth the visit. Thanks Devils@Cradle!
We had a great time at Devils After Dark. The guide was super passionate and knowledgeable. Would recommend the night feeding. Recommend wearing warm clothes and a raincoat.
A lovely place to see devils, quolls and a wombat in peaceful surroundings. It was probably the windiest and wettest day to visit last week but the animals weren't bothered. I enjoyed watching the devils cuddle up together in a sunbeam that day!
Excellent spot with a worthy cause. We went for the night feeding and really enjoyed it. The guides were interesting and informative. Parking was easy and close to the centre.
We were really disappointed that there weren’t any Devil Joeys when we paid for the Joey Encounter specifically for that reason but instead, we’re shown a Wombat, a Quoll and an almost adult Devil to pat.
I understand, that it isn’t possible to have the Joey at the younger age always available, but, we would have been much happier if we were first informed about this, before we paid for a very expensive tour.
We just felt we were mislead by the advertised, Joey Encounter.
I recommend the basic flat rate and to just walk around to see the animals, but not the Joey Encounter Tour, unless the Joey’s are actually available.
Best to ring and ask, so your not disappointed with what your paying for.
The staff were absolutely brilliant and the facility is A+.
It was so lovely to see such a wonderful breeding program for these beautiful animals, and the care they are given.
Devils@Cradle had a great collection of Tasmanian Devils, which they are breeding to protect them from extinction. Entry is $25 per person to enter if you wish to guide yourself through the venue, however it may be best to pay the $37 for the tour as you'll see more of the animals. Tour's didn't fit within our timeframe, so we self guided, sadly (for us) most of the animals were sleeping (great for them). The paths are super muddy, so ensure you bring older boots.
This is a great charitable facility aiming to raise funds to save the devil's.
Absolutely fantastic experience! We finished a summit hike and quickly made it here an hour before closing, and it was the perfect end to the day! The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable, and it was amazing to see the devils, quolls and joeys at this facility. The experience wasn't too expensive and the facility was very well maintained. It was really great to see these animals being cared for and thriving in their habitats.
Amazing what these guys are doing for Tasmanian devils. Highly recommend the after hours feeding. Great way to see the devils up close displaying natural behaviours and hearing them growl at each other!
Awesome place to see devil's close up and support a reintroduction program. We went around 4 as they were starting to wake up and I'd say you're guaranteed to see them. Along with the quolls they were awesome to see and really naturally entertaining.
Good opportunity to see the Tasmanian devils & quols. They tell me that all their animals are rescue or born in captivity. They release +-10% of their young into the wild, the low # is because of the disease affecting the devils in the wild.
Very informative and a great opportunity to see a lot of Tasmanian Devils of various age. It is definitely worthwhile to do a day keeper's tour, you'll get a lot of info about the animals and see more of them (devils and quolls).
Absolutely loved this place. Night feeding tours are incredible with many facts shared by the sanctuary stuff. A must-see place if you're visiting Cradle Mountain.
Unfortunately we arrived on a cold and rainy day, so most of the animals were sleeping inside their homes.
We decided last minute to join the 5.30pm feeding tour- and so glad that we did! The keeper was informative with plenty of time for questions as we saw the animals (several devil enclosures and 2 types of quolls) being fed. The sanctuary is nicely set up and they do a lot of conservation work to rehabilitate the devil's and quolls that are born there. Highly recommend.
Went on night feeding tour - both the Tasmanian Devils and Quolls were fed (the latter we did not expect)! Tassie Devils are infinitely very interesting in terms of the sounds they make! Would not wanna be stuck in the Aussie forest in the night with them around although they generally do not attack humans unless u smell like meat! Only four stars cos we were ill prepared for how absolutely freezing it became and the lack of lighting which could’ve been a HSE issue.
Chris our host for the night is very informative and even dedicated extra time to show us as much as possible in this small wildlife sanctuary. We saw not only Tasmanian Devils but also Quolls and Eastern Quolls being served their biggest meal of the week. Pity the souvenir shop doesn't have water bottles but that didn't stop us from having an excellent experience
