Cradle Mountain Highlander Cottages

Dianne was lovely. Easy check in and out. Dry would at cabin for fire place and a well equipped cabin. We will be back again in 2 weeks time and can’t wait.

Fabulous cottage with everything we needed, right across the road from the visitor information centre. Highly recommended to everyone especially families with children.

In Hobart city: mount Wellington, Cadbury Chocolate Factory, where we all received free chocolates and restaurants were amazing.

Drove all the way to Launceston City. Best experience so far.

Somehow, deep down I was worried the wooden cottages are too good to be true on the website. Oh boy! How glad was I to find out how incorrect my doubts were.

We stayed in the Woodstock Cottage. Cosy, large bathroom, high king beds, surrounded by calf depth snow, chimney and wood burning fireplace indoors and sweet little kitchenette.

Luckily my back then, bf was from countryside England and was an expert with wood burning fireplace as all of us had no idea or were too scared to light it up. Well non of us got toasted so all good.

Morning we got a surprise knock at the door with huge basket of continental breakfast.

From there we all went for aromatherapy massage and sauna treat.

Got a little lost while driving back but people of Tasmania are just so easy and friendly to approach. We even got invited by a sweet couple for homemade cookies and tea. We had just stopped by to ask for directions? ‍️.

Loved every bit about the whole trip.
Can’t wait to take my little chuka there for a visit next year.

Loved our stay at the Highlander Cottages. Excellent location and the cottages are well equipped with the basic needs for a mountain getaway. The log fire was amazing and kept us warm all night. Staff are very friendly.

Cosy and well equipped rooms. Well insulated and great log fire heater. Great shower and amenities.
Wonderful for a family holiday or a romantic getaway.

Accommodation was fantastic. Check in was easy and Cabins were easy enough to get to and isolated enough from each other to give the impression that you were alone in a Woodland setting.

Absolutely loved our stay in the two bedroom Currawong cabin. Comfortable nights sleep, great fire and well equipped. This was my second stay, we stayed in the Bushman’s hut many years ago. Something so magical and relaxing about getting back to nature in such beautiful surrounds. Highly recommend.

The cottages and area are incredible - everything is well-maintained and cosy with loads of firewood to keep you warm. If the clouds clear you'll get the most beautiful view of the Milky Way at night. Log cabin, with fireplace, spa and unforgettable scenery all close to Cradle - what more could you ask for! The tap water is the best too, so fresh!

Our Tassie honeymoon in July was cut short when Brisbane went into lockdown meaning we had to isolate in Tassie until we could get a flight home. This meant we were in our log cabin for three nights and Brendan was the friendliest, most accommodating host! As we couldn't leave the cabin, he took our dinner orders by phone each night, drove to pick them up and then left them at our door. He ensured we had enough towels, firewood, internet, board games and movies to get us through our isolation in the winter wonderland.

Even though we didn't get to Cradle itself, we honestly had such a great, relaxing time and can't wait to be back next year for honeymoon 2.0. See you in a few months and thanks again to Brendan and Cradle Highlanders.

We stayed here for 3 nights in late November. The cabins were rustic and authentic but still very warm, clean and great facilities in the kitchen and plenty of hot water. Service was excellent and friendly, and the surrounds were peaceful and private. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Cradle Mountain.

Di at Highlander Cabins was the epitome of good, friendly service and she went above and beyond to ensure that my partner and I had a comfortable stay, even while we were waiting for a COVID test.

Stayed here in September 2021. Honestly these cabins are incredible - exceeded my expectations. The photos don’t do it justice.

Upon checking in, we were greeted with a beautiful dog (Hailey I think) and Di who helped us with what to do in the area as well as where to eat for the evening.
The room was quaint and cosy with a warm fire place that was already set up for us to start up. Great amenities and would recommend for a couples getaway.

The self-contained cottage was neat and clean. Bed was comfortable and warm.

Very friendly host and they gave sound advice. Thanks to them I headed to Cradle Mountain the evening I arrived there and had first glimpse of the mountain before sunset, and sighted a number of wombats at Ronny Creek. It was raining heavily the following day and all scenery was behind thick clouds. And I got the chance to see the national park under different weather.

We stayed in Forest View cabin and it was warm and cosy. The beds are so comfortable too. The staff are also friendly and helpful. It is our favourite place to stay when at Cradle Mountain.

Beautiful place to stay, gorgeous cosy quiet cabin, great staff, close to all the tourist attractions. Just a really nice place to stay.

Loved my one night stay in Lancelot Cabin and will be back to stay for at least 3 nights. Check in was easy and great communication from staff. The cabin was clean, plenty of firewood, cosy yet roomy, the most comfortable bed that was hard to leave in the morning and so close to the Visitor Centre.

No words can describe it. You have to experience it. Out of this world. Friendly staff and enchanting cabins.

Comfortable and well equipped self catering cottages. Rustic features, wood lined. We had a 4 person cottage (Brushtail) which was very spacious for 2. Bit more of a swish for 4. Big bathroom and you can park in front. Efficient reception, and only steps from Visitors Centre and shuttle buses.

Our cabin was so comfortable, cosy and warm. There was everything there we could've required and it was very clean and beautifully presented.
We'll definitely be back.
