Cradle Mountain Highlander Cottages

Only stayed one night but found the location great, the cottage very comfortable and the hosts very accommodating. Would definitely like to come back for a longer stay.

Great location opposite the visitor centre where you can get your bus passes to go on the trails.

For the accommodation, its fabulous. Wooden cabin with a fireplace, quiet and serene. Has 1gb internet if you need it and its a real great experience. It has heater/heating blankets if you cant maintain the fireplace and very adequate hot water after a day of walking. Recommended for kids especially with the wombat and wallabies they have around the area.

The 5 star rating is justified. Well laid out, spacious, well maintained, clean, warm. We'll be back!

We stayed here for 2 nights recently and can't recommend it enough. The host was so lovely and accommodating, and the cabin was so wonderful. A very comfortable and relaxing stay with everything we needed, and close to the visitor centre. Reception also had an amazing offering of well priced wine to make the stay even better. Definitely would come back!

So happy with the accomadation! The location was easy to find, with only a short walk to the cradle mountain visitors centre. Very clean and warm, what more can one aske for! The reception answered every question which we asked, quick and effectivtly

Absolutely loved our stay. Very Clean and tidy cabin. Comfy beds and a small kitchen. Laundry service available for a charge. 5 mins walk to the visitors centre. Our stay there was a highlight of our trip in Tasmania.

Wonderful place. Very lousy wifi, capped, snail pace. But can go to nearby Lodge for excellent wifi and food.

Murtle - a lovely one bedroom wooden cabin. Parking right outside, the cabin was cozy and well equipped. A bedroom and comfortable living room, despite it being summer we needed to light the log burner which soon warmed up the whole cabin.

Our best stay in Tasmania. So close to nature and the spectacular Cradle Mountain. Self contained with everything you could need, bed are comfortable and rooms are warm. The fireplace is amazing and the DVDs were great picks for the family to enjoy on a cold night. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to come back and visit.

An idyllic little cottage set in a real life wonderland. With a crackling fireplace going, the smells, sights and sounds of being in nature, this was an absolute dream trip. Such lovely walks literally at your doorstep. A little slice of heaven.

An absolute gem right in the heart of Cradle. Fab friendly service- nothing too much trouble- including wine sales at very reasonable prices The Woodsmoke cabin we stayed in was spotless with super comfy lounge & bed & nice shower. Surrounded by bush, we were visited by lovely bird & wildlife

Fantastic location - literally across the road from the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre. The cabin was amazingly warm and comfortable, and the fire was readied for us. Only negative was that the wi-fi was poor - but if you want a superb stay in your own alpine paradise, then this is the place.

Right opposite the information centre where the buses leave, an amazing walk around Dove lake circuit, cottage was perfect, great space, we were left alone unless any help was required, always wood at the ready for the amazing cottage fireplace and a beautiful snowfall on our last morning. Great amenities in our cottage, full cooking facilities, and a BBQ area. This was a perfect Cradle Mountain stay, and you must go 5 minutes down the road to see the Devils and Quolls, otherwise there is wildlife in abundance, a very easy 5 stars and more.

This place is so gorgeous. We stayed in the Quoll cabin. My wife even saw a quoll. You walk through the trees along a beautiful path to get from your car to the cabin. Everywhere you turn is picture perfect. The fireplace at the end of the bed was lovely throughout the night

Myself and daughter stayed in the cabin, snow falling, wild life abundance.
Breakfast mouth watering as I'm watching the fresh honey drip into a gully to a pot where's you dip into.

Where do I start. We were blown away by the beauty of our cabin and how cozy/right at home we felt as soon as we walked in. Although the cabin we stayed in was close to reception and the road, you would never have known it; everything was so quiet and we saw noone while we were there.

The heated tiles, fireplace and electric blankets were much appreciated and needed especially on the 3rd day where we woke up to snow! Our cabin and surrounding area looking just like a postcard, we were so lucky. Make sure to bring plenty of snacks and food for brekky as it is completely self-contained.

We couldn't recommend our stay more highly and if you're after something more unique and authentic, this place is definitely for you (we are so glad we chose here instead of hotels). Such an amazing way to spend our honeymoon in tassie, couldn't have asked for a better experience in Cradle Mountain!

These cabins are perfect in every way! Location, hosts, amenities & coziness. The cabin was spotless & well equiped too. How could you stay anywhere else other than a Highlanders log cabin when in Cradle Mountain? ! It’s my 3rd time staying here & it wont be my last. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay!
We stayed in the Tallow-Wood cabin with our two kids under 5. It was perfect. Cosy, well equipped & easy walking distance to the national park. There was so much wildlife around that we'd often enjoy our meals watching a padamelon forage outside. The cabins are a bit dated in design but I feel that is part of the charm & wouldn't change it. Friendly staff:)
We'll definitely be back again.
