Cradle Alpine Retreat

This villa typed accomdation is very spacious with large bedrooms, living room, dining area and kitchen. Sleep very comfortably. For such supposed to score high marks. Location fair need to drive 24km to Cradle Mountain visitor centre and 20+km to Sheffield. Walking distance to the only restaurant in which last order before 7.30pm. The worst experience is the check in and out, which was totally self serviced. From arrival to leaving we have never talked to any staff. Since this property is located in a region of poor infrastructure and wifi cannot be provided, and in this region except Telstra, no other mobile net is available. No staff is on site at the reception. Imagine when you have no internet, no telecommunication, no staff, I was just panicking what to do, and the phone hanging outside the reception has no sound, so just didn't know how to talk to the staff. Somehow I just found an envelope with my name written showing which house and the code for the key (just like playing lost and found). I think if after-hours staff is not possibly available, at least I should receive a greeting email, or message or WhatsApp, telling all the information we need before hand (that what were done in other countries), at least not making myself so stupid.

Came here for our honeymoon and this place was absolutely amazing. Beautiful Bushland and spectacular views. Great value and got so much more than what we we're expecting. 10/10 will definitely come here again.

Located just as a short drive from Cradle Mountain Information Centre & park entry. (Approx 18 klms) The cabins are very comfy and cosy. The cabin we stayed in had comfy beds, microwave, toaster & fridge with all kitchen utensils and crockery. There was a little bath and shower. Very clean and beautiful bush setting with the convenience of Cradle Forest Inn with food, coffee & licenced within short walking distance. Their check-in/ check-out system is very easy and owners very accommodating after I messed up my booking. Loved it

I recently stayed 3 nights at Cradle Alpine Retreat and loved it. It was quiet, clean and spacious. I noticed a lot of extra little things that you dont get at most accommodations. I also loved the native bushland outside my bedroom window, the native wildlife peacefully grazing was lovely to see. I would definitely stay again.

Nice chalet but zero advertising of no phone signal or wifi, make sure you purchase Telstra sims before you arrive there otherwise it’s 40 mins to te nearest Iga.

Pretty room and clean. Close to a laundry (free of charge) and restaurant also. There was a mix up with the rooms and we had some difficulties but overall was not too bad, and the room was nice! If you have problems the reception is close by (but not very near).

Nice place. Good rooms. Comfortable. Not too far out from Cradle Mountain. Good communication. Got to see some pademelons wandering around. Really enjoyed my stay.

Wonderful cabin in a fantastic location, my partner and I only stayed one night but we were so comfortable in Wellington cottage and took full advantage of the spa bath, a welcome surprise after long day of hiking. The pademelons were an added delight and we saw quite a few of them before dusk nibbling the grass right outside our window! The breakfast items that were left for us in the morning to cook were adequate and had plenty of utensils and pans etc.for further cooking if one was staying for a couple of nights. I highly recommend this cute alpine retreat for a respite during travelling across Tassie!

Quite peaceful location. Cabin recently renovated on the inside. Great spa to relax in after a long day.

Absolutely great accommodation and lovely stay. Beautifully presented with a great breakfast hamper. Loved the cooking staples (oil, salt, pepper) and the fireplace and wood made our night! Thanks for the great night.

Loved it! Stayed in cradle with my young family. Could live here it is that lovely. Great decked out kitchen for cooking. Highly recommended!
