Brickendon Estate - UNESCO World Heritage Site reviews
41Step back in time at this wonderful, historic homestead. All the family, even the teenagers, loved it. Pet friendly too! Brilliant, friendly customer service.
It was very well presented the small video told us lots of information about the family which was very interesting also it was lovely to see and talk to the owner's wife she was very friendly and very easy to talk to. I would recommend people to come and have a look well done I loved it. Keep up the fantastic work.
My wife and I spent a couple of nights at Brickendon estate in the farmers cottage.
Absolutely loved it.
The cottage was cosey, the king bed perfectly comfortable. We roamed the estate which is huge and peaceful.
They have a beautiful Chappell and an awesome reception barn, would be a great place for a wedding.
Thank you we will be back
Friendly farm animals of all kinds, and all the old farm equipment and buildings to explore. Very quaint and lovely property, well maintained and run.
Whilst it has plenty of history, unfortunately the area has been let go into a state if disrepair it detracts away from what the place was. It needs lots of love and basic maintenance, just from the video they play that was filmed 5 yrs ago you can physical see just how much the whole area has gone downhill, it's so sad to see.
Great place to visit. You can, like me and my granddaughter spend a lot of time there. Feel the past and embrace what pioneers and convicts did.
Lovely, 'working' farm, preserved in time. Lots of buildings for exploring which were constructed and used during the convict era. Lots of farm animals for the kids to see and interact with.
A beautiful estate that allows you to wander and discover some snippets of history.
We also had a great time bottle feeding the lambs, patting the friendly farm cat, and checking out the long list of other farm animals.
This place seems pretty tired.but then again it's almost 200 years old so what would you expect ;) Good for a look about and to see what life was like in years gone by.nice open function space that's good for many uses (if a little cold in winter) and heaps of parking.
An estate farm that had been founded in 1824, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The buildings and the structures provide a glimpse into what life had been like in those pioneering days. An entrance fee applies.
Stayed overnight in the 2 bedroom cottage. Very cozy and well kept. Enjoyed a walk through the historic farm the following morning. Many old buildings such as the cookhouse and blacksmith still have original artifacts left in them, as if the people had put down the tools and walked away. Great place to visit and stay overnight.
So much to see. Historical farm buildings, cottages and a church! Lots of friendly animals for the kids to pat. Well laid out and the plaques are informative. Gift shop as you enter. An informative movie to watch if desired.
Amazing working farmstay and historic house. Our kids had an absolute ball feeding the sheep, cows, ducks, pig and other critters. A great place to bunker down for a cosy night or two.
We found this estate at last minute. So glad we did it was the most beautiful setting with lots of history if you like that sort of thing like I do.
The lady was prepared to wait for us few minutes around closing time knowing we were desperate to get there she was AWESOME.
Animals are spread across the estate quite friendly as well. The cabins are exactly like early settler era with front verandahs to sit and enjoy the fields across the estate which I LOVE. We are definitely going back and staying longer. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED. #gorgeous
Lovely visit to the old farm and gardens. Great to just wander around at your own pace. Incredible history in such wonderful condition!
Great place to stopover between Launceston and Hobart. We planned on just spending an hour here but spent 3!
Be sure to head to the garden across afterwards.
A wonderful venue for a wedding. Brickendon could not have been more helpful in assisting us to plan our day, which meant we could focus on enjoying ourselves with family and friends. The homestead itself is great to explore, and it was an absolute treat to stay onsite and wake up to the sounds and sights of a working farm. We can’t wait to come back and spend some time here and soak up the history all over again.
A great stay for couples or families. Old style cottages over looking farmland with poppy the goat, sheep, donkeys, horses and heaps of other animals. A walk around the estate is very educational with sign explaining its history. Wold definitely book again
Dutch styled barn and outbuildings take you a step back in time. Estate has many boards explaining its history. Was disappointed to find the cafe is housed in a new building that ruined the whole atmosphere, so didnt dine there.
My Mum loves this place, especially the Gardens and highly recommended it, but we had to reschedule for next trip!
