Bread & Butter reviews
62Don't miss this cafe experience. One of the best ANYwhere. The croissants and breakfast buns are to die for. Great vibe, cool space, friendly service and fab coffee too.
YOU HAVE RUINED OUR LIVES.no mainland croissant competes with b+b.we think about your buttery flakey goodness
We went to purchase savoury and sweet options for lunch on Tuesday 27th December at 1: 10om We could purchase as much food as we wanted, choose if we wanted to sit in to eat or TA. We ordered food then ordered coffee. We were told that they stop making coffee at 1pm!? !
That is the strangest thing we've ever heard of. If you are serving food and permitted to eat in it's reasonable that coffee is served too.
This review would be zero if that were an option.
Edit: Your response to my review was unnecessarily judgemental and aggressive.
You suggesting I haven't lived a fulfilling life is incredibly inappropriate.
I notice you have subsequently removed that post however. Hopefully you realised how inappropriate your comments were.
I didn't say it was a "rule" to serve coffee if you are serving food.
I was not told you closed at 1pm.
Perhaps it would have made a big difference to my perception of your business if I was.
As a result of your peevish response I read all of your responses to 1 star posts and I've come to the conclusion that you do not like receiving feedback that can be construed negatively.
You have a tendency to react quickly, aggressively and thoughtlessly. You try to make amusing comments but rather they are just passive aggressive responses.
You appear to intentionally want to debase your customers.
Edit 2 - I did not set up a new account, rather I edited my first post. Once again you are disproportionately aggressive in your response and you've proceeded to edit your original post.
Enough. Once again you are attempting to debase. You consistency alter and edit your responses.
Please enough. Stop. Over and over again you harangue.
As owners you should be less aggressive to your patrons, even ex-patrons.
Really interesting baked treats and great hot chocolate. Great service in and interesting atmosphere
Had a coffee and morning bun.
Been before and had burnt greasy pastries so thought I'd give them another chance. I had a morning bun but unfortunately it was crisp and hard round the edge, not the best I've eaten left the outside of it, indide was nice and soft. My husband had a sandwich, bread was so hard to bite into.
Coffee is good.
Home made hollandaise, amazing morning buns, great place. All the bread products are amazing
Busy morning, but service was speedy and attentive. Morning bun was to die for. Portions were great! Oh! Relish with the Sausage Roll was delicious! Coffee hit the spot for a Sunday morning!
Coffee/Pastry and Restaurant is iconic, with a great feel, history and considerable reputation.
$31 for two coffee’s and croissants I consider a little steep, or is the sign-of-the times?
Coffee was good, service quick and efficient. Croissants great.
Worth a visit if in town.
Perhaps my expectation was too high…
The only complaint I have is the superb offerings gave me a severe case of Fear Of Missing Out.
What if I chose badly? Did I have room for 2 pastries?
No problems, it's all so good it doesn't matter what you choose, and the whole time, new items are emerging freshly baked to restock.
And the coffee was excellent too.
Great coffee and the bread was insanely good. The omelette was a lot and very eggy (to be fair, it was per the menu), it had no aromatics.
Bad coffe and cold, the food has too much oil, not recommend, and ridiculous expensive for the product they offer
Absolutely amazing pastries, great coffees, wide range of takeaway options including Tassie produce, great service, lovely space to be in. Don’t miss it!
This place was highly recommended but disappointed in delivery. After a week in Tasmania, this was our first experience of surly service …. At least they were consistent - everyone we encountered wore the same pinched expression. The very expensive bagel was not toasted and was served with a hard cooked (!) ‘poached egg’. Having a great reputation doesn’t mean you should stop trying.
You haven't had a pastry unless you've had one from here. The danishes and crossaints are exceptional. And while you're there, better get a brick of butter and a sourdough loaf to take home.
Love this place. It gets busy but service is excellent and efficient. The sourdough and the walnut croissant were delicious.
I go for coffee, and sometimes bread. The coffee is of a very good standard and very consistent. Easily top 5 in Launceston for coffee. I haven't eaten full meals here, but their bread is fantastic, even the simple baguettes are crunchy, moist and flavourful. One can eat them even without butter, which seems to go against the established idiom but possible all the same.
The atmosphere has a cool kinda vibe, semi industrial with tall ceilings and rustic tables, massive canvases with modern artwork. Staff seem on the level and friendly. Sometimes you may spot cute dogs tied up out the front which you may be allowed to pat.
No point in having a menu if you are not serving anything of it. Lunch time went in for lunch. No pies, no sausage rolls, No veggie sausage rolls. Oh, you could get breand and butter. Of course you could. Very disappointing.
Had breakfast here both mornings we stayed in lauceston and it was great. Staff were friendly, cafe had funky vibe, coffee was hot and strong, food was delicious (we tried the ham and cheese croissant and the sausage rolls).
Very popular spot for locally made butter and pastries. We had the walnut chocolate croissant, bostock, danish as well as the sardine toast and coffees. Everything was delicious and would definitely come again!
We stopped by this morning for a morning bun & a croissant. YUM! I haven't had a morning bun before, oh my goodness it's so good. The croissant was beautiful too, so flaky & soft. Absolutely delicious!
