It was cold today but most animals were out which was really good. Love the talking birds. I had the most fun photographing the Owls! Stunning animals!
I also purchased a Annual Pass

Fantastic experience! The kangaroo feeding was a highlight, upon entry you get a bag of kangaroo feed so throughout your walk at the sanctuary you can interact with and feed the local roos. The enclosed animals at the sanctuary are all rescued wildlife who have been injured or cannot be released into the wild due to how they were raised/being non native to Tasmania. My only question would be whether all of the forester kangaroos are free to roam and come and go as they please and if not, why they cannot.

Great sanctuary and experience. Could really see the difference this place is making. The open get room (behind glass) was really good to help explain the importance of the wild life rescue and process involved. Got to meet little Lenny the wombat. A great added experience to younger children. Also good to see that there are new enclosures being planned and available for wildlife as needed in the future.

Probably the best animal experience in Tassie. The animals were as friendly as the staff, and the staff are very knowledgeable and committed to animal welfare.

My partner and I loved our experience here! Lot's of native animals such as wombats, owls and Tasmanian devils which are being rehabilitated or cared for. Our tour guide was very informative and interesting. Highly recommend!

They do such great work, rescuing, rehabilitating & caring for wildlife.
Don't judge a book by it's cover, as the saying goes.

It was wonderful here. The animals are so friendly, mind you when i was feeding the kangaroos I couldn't help but think it was like a scene out of the Alfred Hitchock movie The Birds because there were so many kangaroos. However they were so well behaved. You get close up to wombats, ecidnas and koalas. My personal favourite was Fred who is a white cocky who is over 100 years old who ended up there because he outlived his owner. He got a letter from the queens lady in waiting for reaching 100. He loves a scratch on the head and when you stop he says scratch cocky so he loves it. However the only reason I did that was because I went with someone who goes all the time who said it would be okay. There are animal experiences that are very cheap compared to zoos. It is an animal rescue place so it is important to support it. The animals we are allowed to interact with had injuries where they cannot got back into the wild.

Great way to experience Tassie wildlife up close with people who rescue them from injuries and accidents. Also offer close up encounters with Wombats (and others).

Great spot and an incredible experience feeding their large Kangaroo court. We did the guided tour that is ever 2 hours or so and it was worth waiting for.

Cool little sanctuary just outside of Hobart. Highly recommend doing a night feed tour with Mikey, he's super passionate about what he does and really cares for the animals both inside and out of the sanctuary. Highlight of the night feed would definitely be feeding the Echidnas. Great activity for the kids both big small.

A wonderful experience. Lots of nocturnal animals, so we will come back for a night time tour. Still plenty to see in the day, and the daily tour guides are very knowledgeable.

Had heard good things about this sanctuary and was delighted to finally visit today. The sanctuary finances its important welfare work independently so we were pleased to contribute via the admission fee. We visited the exhibits then joined the informative tour- there are several available times so it’s wise to plan ahead. The highlight was feeding and tickling the chests and necks (not heads backs or tails!) of the gentle kangaroos. They LOVED it. One young mum with a Joey in her pouch chose my friend- bonded, held her hand with both paws and only after that sought food. Such a special moment- I’d come just for that opportunity let alone seeing the devils, the snakes, birds and etc. Great to see such well cared for animals - highly recommend a visit. A cafe and clean loos were a bonus and the gift shop offers a range of items.

Great sanctuary for kids and adults. The work they do at this sanctuary is amazing, rehabilitating injured animals to release them back into the wild. All done by volunteers. They now also have a hospital on the property to treat the animals. You will be able to closely interact with the kangaroos and see koalas, wombats tasmanian devils and many more animals endemic to Tasmania.

This experience was damn good. Should definitely visit. Also better than any of the sanctuaries I have ever visited. If in Tasmania should definitely visit this. It has the Tasmanian animals.
