Cosy little cafe. All the locals seem to go here which is always a good sign. They have a gallery with local art and trinkets. They have new owners too who are really friendly. After the cyclone winds that came through they helped out the community a lot as well.

We stopped here to have coffee and something to eat before going to Cradle Mountain. This cafe is so pretty and they’re making their own sausage roll! And it was soo good! Also, while waiting for your order you can have a look around to check some cute stuff like bags, earrings, gloves, scarf, etc.

Interesting interior for a coffee shop. Great service with fantastic food! The owner was really friendly to chat with and kindly share with us his homemade tomato relish made with secret recipe. Rich sense of taste for the food and will definitely recommended to drop by.

Absolutely awesome coffee, snacks and sweets in a beautiful, funky and cosy coffee shop. If in Tasmania and passing through Sheffield, it is a must!

A little cafe with a lot of character tucked away in the main drag of Sheffield. Enjoy a nice brew next to the fireplace or take your coffee outside to the park, only a minutes walk, and enjoy the inspiring backdrop of Mount Roland.

Racism at its worst. Unfortunately I have terminal cancer and this probably was my partners and my last holiday together. Our whole trip to Tasmania was wonderful but it’s disappointing we had to experience this situation on our last day. It really left a bad taste.

My partner is South Korean but has lived in Australia for over 10 years. As soon as we entered the cafe there was a group of ‘regulars’ (4 senior ladies) sitting down who obviously frequented the cafe a lot. When we entered I realised we were part of an ‘in joke’ with the manager and staff on duty. Yelling out the ladies and and the staff said ‘have you got any Thai pies? ! ’ I love Thai pies, how about fried rice? Or dim sims? This went on for about 3 minutes out loud back and forth with the staff and regulars. I got out of my chair and sat opposite them and starred at them. They stopped immediately and couldn’t look me in the eye.

My partner went back and asked if it was there ‘in’ joke. Again the ladies all had their heads down, gutless. The manager was skirmish in her response. This type of racism is the worst. Indirect racism.

My partner and I are very respectful considerate people. The type who will always return our own dishes and wipe the table for the staff. We have spent our life being respectful to everyone regardless of race, age, etc. This makes the experience so much more disappointing.

Looks can be deceiving. Beautiful little cafe but unfortunately that's were the positives end. Blacksmiths burger had so much cold beetroot relish and cold onion relish that made everything soggy. Meat Pattie was awful and I suspect mass produced. $16 completely over priced with no sides. Chicken Schnitzel was microwaved. Where is the love?

I hardly ever give a review unless something is a really bad or good experience. Clearly a favourite, Blacksmith Café offers homemade pie and pastries, fluffy scones, hot chai and coffee and all we could dream of on our way out of the cold mountains. Definitely worth the visit

Great food, great staff. The owner makes fantastic pies, love the Thai Pie the most. Apparently the owner was an Asian cuisine chef previously, he knows how to make fantastic authentic Asian flavours in his cooking of Asian dishes. Coffee is served at the perfect temperature, you would swear the staff are trained Battista's. The place is a little clustered, but creates a unique atmosphere.

Scones worth driving over an hour for. Fabulous pies too. We look forward to returning to sample more. Fun place, with a fireplace to keep us warm and cosy.

Food was okay, however the coffee took almost half an hour to come and came way after our food. The staff were not welcoming or friendly and when we asked if we could put our coffee into take away cups to take with us, they were extremely rude.

I'm a local and pretty disappointed at the very basic food served. Not much effort put in. Unfortunately I won't be going back and won't be recommending my baby guests.

Rating based purely on the coffee, it cost us $9.60 for 2 small takeaway lattes ($4.80 each), was quite weak and milky, couldn't taste coffee but that's common at country town cafes, some people like it like that. Wouldn't go back for coffee, not sure about the food though.

Coffee came out about 20 mins after food which was odd. The cafe itself was cute and the food was tasty. Staff were a bit cold.
