OMG the room is so cute! My children fell in love with this place straight away and now contently deep in sleep. So warm, cosy, inviting, just a beautiful place. Most unbelievable thing about this place is that they provide cooked breakfast with drinks with an amazing room rates. Thank you Audrey for your great hospitality!

We stopped in for lunch on Sunday, it was cold and wet. Walking in it was warm and inviting. We ordered the chowder with a glass of the house chardy. It was delicious and full of flavour. The house chardy was a great fit with the chowder. Audrey keep up the great work We will be back.

Friendly hostess, clean room with ensuite. We also ate dinner which was amazing with a good variety of wine and beer, even stout.

The food was good, but serving sizes small. We waited almost an hour for our orders. There was only the one person who was taking orders, cooking and serving, so maybe no staff due to covid?

Lovely country cafe, always warm and welcoming. Food is hearty and homely with great modern flavours. The owners and staff are always kind, generous and accommodating to our needs. We've even accidentally walked in when they were closed but they still made us coffee and tea. We regularly stop in on our way through Geeveston because of its relaxed and easy going atmosphere.

Absolutely lovely staff happy to cater for every need. Rooms were huge with comfy beds and adorable decor. The food was yummy and although my father and I always ventured out before breakfast the girls were always quick to make us some lovely coffees to take with us. The staff were also really knowledgable about the area, which was really helpful for a couple of tourists like us. Would definitely stay with again!

Stayed here for the night with my partner and 1 year old. The hosts were very accommodating, nothing was too much to ask which makes such a difference when travelling with a family. Food was yummy too.

Such friendly staff. Great coffee and the scones, jam and cream were yummy. We have been there twice now and would go again. A lovely wood fire was going to keep you warm and toasty on a cold day.

A long wait for luke warm very bitter coffee. The kids drinks were too hot and the toastie was not hot and not very well done. The place was not at all busy but the staff seemed focused on personal needs. Would not recommend.

Today the bears must have gone missing. My family and I dropped in for a quick lunch before attending Hastings caves. Unfortunately our food took 1 hour and 10 minutes to arrive. As a result we had to cancel our Hastings booking. The reason we had travelled down today. The staff ignored us until they delivered our soups (10 mins after delivery of my kids toasted sandwich and heated up pie) at 1 hour. They simply said can we get you a coffee on the house. Too little too late. I get that things can go wrong in business, that's ok. But not communicating with customers is not ok. Hope things improve. So disappointing.

On a freezing day, the fire was barely alight, although a few sticks were added on our arrival. The coffee and hot chocolate were adequate, just. The beef pie looked as if it had been reheated a few times and was less than ordinary; the chips were soggy and warm, not piping hot, when served; and the quiche was an almost flat piece of puff pastry, with a slight indent into which the “filling” was put. Very unimpressed. We won’t venture south of Franklin again!

Great food! Lovely people and good service.
The BEST coffee I have had, despite extensive efforts to find it's equal.
It was a relief for everyone that some efficiency has returned and everything is back on track.

Dropped in for a late lunch, the elderly man who took my order didn't seem at all confident. I was proved correct after 45 minutes of listening to loud random music (mercifully replaced by Queen eventually) when everyone else in the place got their order but we didn't, despite being seated with our rambunctious 4-year-old. Eventually caught the eye of another staff member, discovered we'd been completely forgotten, and our food came out pretty quickly after that. We even got some sympathy from other diners who'd noticed us waiting, even though the staff hadn't! The food (all of which probably only needed reheating anyway) was decent enough once it did arrive, but *definitely* not worth an hour's wait. Got a mumbled half-apology from the man who'd forgotten us, but no offer of a refund or anything, and by that stage we were too tired, hungry and upset to push the issue. We won't be back.

I'm a regular customer because the food is fantastic, but have been less than impressed with the service for the last year or so. I was so impressed today with how efficiently everything ran, I asked about it. They have recently had a staff change which has completely improved the atmosphere. It was lovely to see the delightful service return to what it was. Congratulations on the change, it has had immediate results.
