Bay of Fires Bush Retreat reviews
55Beautiful property- beautifully presented. Relaxed and calm - we had a great stay. We stayed in both the bunk room and bell tents with our family and loved both. There was a well stocked “honesty bar” and delicious precooked meals. Highly recommended!
Best glamping experience in Tasmania. Have stayed here twice already and would definitely recommend it. Wonderful hospitality, lovely hosts.
We have stayed twice here and absolutely LOVED both times. Stayed for our engagement and honeymoon. Could not recommend a more clean, modern, tranquil and beautiful glamp experience! Not to mention the AMAZING food cooked by the hosts! Can't wait to be back later this year for our wedding anniversary ️
Great experience. Only thing is kitchen area is too open and cold. Tents are warm and very comfortable. Will go back again.
We had the bunkhouse which had lots of space and lovely and warm. I got a look in the tents which looked really romantic!
Nice touches like marshmallows in your room to take to the fire pit… help yourself to herbs/veggies from the garden etc.
One morning the shared showers & loos were all busy so I had to wait, the kitchen area is huge and open, with lots of ready made dinners to choose from, take your Ugg boots & warm clothes for the outdoor spaces!
We stayed here for 2 nights before Christmas and really enjoyed it. We loved staying in the bell tents which were very comfortable and well equipped for cold weather. The kitchen works on an honesty basis and we had two of the pre-prepared meals, snacks and wine - all of which were very tasty. It was very atmospheric having the open fires. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a place to explore the Bay of Fires.
Most of what needs to be said has already been said but STILL.it really needs to be SAID AGAIN! Thanks Anna and Tom for having created a little "oasis of magic" for us all to enjoy. We spent two nights recently at the Bush Retreat, having been captivated before several years ago by the beauty of the Binalong area and the absolute gem of a discovery when it came to our accommodation. With a huge family circle back in Ireland, we cannot wait for international borders to open so that we can book them all in for a few nights at The Bay of Fires Bush Retreat! It is in our experience a Must -Do in Tasmania for both visitors and Aussie residents alike.
Enjoy the experience.
An experience we will never forget, everything has been considered to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. From heaters, electric blankets, hot water bottles to fire pits, prepared meals for purchase, craft beers and wines for purchase and some other goodies, vegetable garden and clean toilet facilities with steaming hot showers. It’s got it all and I definitely recommend staying for a nice peaceful getaway from the city life.
Amazing place to stay for a bit of glamping. The amenities are super clean and tidy. The kitchen had everything you needed and more. There was firewood stocked near two fire-pits for those colder nights. This place is well thought out in design and experience. We highly recommend staying at least a couple nights here!
Had a great experience staying here in April last year. Tom the owner and cook (?) was amazing, exceptional meals!
Ah I will miss this place greatly. Truly all the best bits of camping, minus all the worse parts. Running hot water, places to cook and clean, warm heated beds and tents, and WIFI! The fireplaces are pre-made, so just throw a match on and you’re good to go. Good options are excellent, and highly recommend the lamb gnocchi. Can’t wait to be back here again and again.
We had our wedding at the retreat and could not recommend this venue highly enough. Jess, Anna and Tom made sure we had the most amazing wedding weekend. Tom’s food is sensational and the team went above and beyond to make our wedding dreams come true. The tiny details did not go unnoticed by me and my guests. Fresh towels, heating, toiletries, you name it, they have thought of it. The whole team worked tirelessly to ensure we all had an unforgettable weekend. Thank you team! We can’t wait to visit again!
This place is nothing short of spectacular! It’s the best place to stay in the Bay of Fires area, has an amazing look and feel, and we had the best time. The beds and tents are sparkling clean, the owner/host is amazing, and there’s great pre-made food/wine/snacks you can purchase and make onsite. We stayed in winter and the rooms were plenty warm and had hot water bottles and heaters to go on all night. We loved the vibe and everything about this place. It’s also really close to all of the Bay of Fires beaches so you can quickly pop out to visit and come back quickly. Truly a wonderful space and amazing stay, will certainly be back!
We've been travelling around Tasmania for a couple of weeks and have experienced a variety of accommodation options. I can honestly say that the bush retreat was my favourite. The kitchen facilities and the overall aesthetic of the place was second to none, and the tents were extremely cute and cosy. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was a really cool and unique vibe having the option to choose between alone time in our tent or down by the fire, or hanging out around the fire with other travellers drinking wine and making new friends. We stayed for 2 nights, and I wish it was more like 5 - as it really is a special place, and there is lots to see and explore around the bay of fires. There is a well stocked bar, delicious premade meals (vegan gf options too), excellent cooking facilities, real coffee and coffee press etc etc. If you are looking for sumptuous accommodation with a rustic charm and an inspiring and authentic connection to the wild spirit of Tasmania, look no further.
Could not have chosen a better place to stay for our last night in Tassie. The tents felt like a little home away from home, the showers, bathrooms and kitchen were all very clean and accessible. Staff were great and excellent morning brekky cook! Would stay again 100%
My biggest criticism of the place is that they don’t advertise just how amazing it is!
We stayed two nights and found that they have an array of pre prepared gourmet meals which you can take from the ‘honesty bar/kitchen’, which is also stocked with amazing local alcohol.
We opted for the chef prepared cheese board and chef prepared breakfast both days. The meals rivaled anything we had ever had before!
Luxury tents give the perfect balance of camping touches with a luxury night sleep.
Can’t wait to return
Great location, they provide you with marshmallows and we had a little fire to toast them. The breakfast was very good. The only problem was that there were a lot of kids which ruined the romantic experience
It was okay, but for the price I would avoid this place during the school holidays if you don’t have kids. Unfortunately children shrieking and taking up all of the fire spots took away from the serenity.
Outstanding accommodation, if you're in the Binalong Bay area this is a real must. Every detail has been extremely well thought through, and catered for - even down to the marshmallows for toasting on the fire! Food was excellent - definitely go for the platter and breakfast options.
The best bed and doona in a superb, relaxing setting. Very thoughtfully laid out
with everything you need for a one or two night stay.
