Barilla Holiday Park reviews
62Nice location, although a little way away from Hobart. Not enough showers and toilet for the number of people, always had to wait each time we tried to use them.
Convenient location - Close to Hobart and a useful place to stay the night before taking your rented campervan back. Extremely clean facilities - there is also a laundry - cold wash only. There are native chickens and bandicoots on site - amusing to watch. Check in very smooth - pleasant staff. If you are planning to arrive on either a Sunday or Monday, be aware that the restaurant and pizzeria are both closed on those evenings - it seems to be quite difficult to get anything to eat on Sunday evenings generally.
BBQ needs to be paid at least $1.only few shower room, have to queue.
Kitchen is very smalI.
Great staff needs a bigger TV in our cabin, great park and people great restaurant on site geat food
This place is over priced for a caravan, $50 for a powered site per night (10% discount if your a NRMA or RACT member) Some of the sites are quite difficult to maneuver your van into not to mention some sites have the power and water on the wrong side, so make sure you have plenty of hose and long extension cord. The sites do provide plenty of privacy as they are hedged. Things like mini golf, the pool are added extras you will have to pay for, the playground will keep kids amused for all of 5 mins.
What I did find quite quirky was the 4 water tanks that had been converted to unisex bathrooms.
One shocking discovery I made was the lack of security on their WiFi network,
Everyone devices are visible on the network and could easily be hacked, my recommendation would be to use your own internet or hotspot off your phone. TALK ABOUT BREACH OF PRIVACY
All in all this is park is posing as something it's not. (Charging premium prices for something that's not premium)
THE RECEPTION STAFF ARE REALLY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.
The staff here are amazing and welcoming. Beautiful relaxing setting after a long day traveling. Kids had a ball watching wallabies and birds near the creek.
Clean hot showers and fantastic
Pizza onsite definitely a great place to stay
Nice & clean, quiet & a quick drive to shops, Richmond etc, the in house restaurant & pizza is a great idea, Nates pizza's were delicious thanks
This park was incredible, the staff are excellent, the amenities are fantastic and it's like a home away from home, location wise it couldn't be better, close to Hobart and the airport, public transport into town, far enough out to get that middle of nowhere feel a stones throw from the city. The restaurant and wood fired pizza are a must try, you'll be sorry if you miss them. I look forward to my next trip and staying here again.
Amazing spot to camp or hire a hut. Great, well kept facilities and super friendly staff. Lots of wild life around still but no pestering creatures! Free showers and flushing toilets all spotless. There is also Nates pizzeria and restaurant-really nice food for a decent price and service was outstanding, chef came out and made sure we were happy with everything! Will definitely be going back again next time were in Tasmania!
Close to Hobart and airport.good place to stay last couple of nights after driving a campervan around Tasmania
It was my first expee jn a caravan park. I really recomend this place, very clean and organized.
Great place to caravan or camp, clean facilities was best! Native Tasmanian Hens as well as Tasmanian Banicoot! Stayed in a cabin overnight which was well layed out and clean.
Stayed in the 2 bedroom cabins. Clean and comfortable. Plenty of utensils available. Available on site; laundry - restaurant - tourist information- also has a thermal pool and mini golf. All at additional cost. Staff were brilliant and friendly
Need a cheap place to stay with your caravan or motor home. Then Barilla park is for you. Close to amenities. Restaurants and grocery stores within 10 minutes.
Great stay close to the airport for departure.
Restaurant was really good with wood fired Pizza.
Stayed in a standard cabin which was so below standard it was disgraceful. Old flooring was uneven, dark rooms & the curtains & bed coverings were ancient. No air conditioning. The bathroom was a disaster-holes in walls covered with chipboard, an old pipe was hanging from the ceiling, smaller unused old pipes jutting out from wall & ceiling fan was not fully attached to ceiling & was filthy. I have photos. Overall disgraceful accommodation.
Quiet situation not far from beach. Handy to local fuel & deli/hot foods.
Reasonable showers with 8 minute timers. Highly recommend Saturday bus to Salamanca market; it's tiring enough to see everything there without having to find a parking spot, either 2hr paid, or far away.
Market brilliant, with pubs and cafes as well as food stalls.
Do eat at the Horseshoe Inn just up road from Barilla; outside appearance gives way to great interior, great food.
This place is great. Staff are awesome. Food at the restaurant is really good and high quality. If you are traveling or back packing this place is perfect and only a short trip in to the city.
Great cabin for the price. Some of the locks didn't work on the toilet, but other then that, everything else was great.
Nice spot, awesome feed at Nates, a little overpriced but nothing out of the ordinary, clean facilities
