Apricus Launceston reviews
43Their movie night was a disaster, half an hour after movie was supposed to start the screen was still not up. Their cocktail jug had barely any taste of alcohol, we basically paid $63 for a jug of juice. Can not recommend this place unfortunately.
I dine here from time to time and would recommend as they have friendliest staff and great atmosphere.
Food was pretty average here but the location is stunning. It’s a shame they don’t have aircon, there were ceiling fans going but the room was very very warm, like eating lunch in a sauna. Wouldn’t recommend going if it’s a warm/hot day.
I was worried like reviews mentioned that service would take a long time but within an acceptable time the dishes came out and were enjoyable
Stunning landscape for a restaurant to overlook. The animals made a great morning for my 2 year old.
Booked for Saturday night only to find when we arrived that a music festival was on and the restaurant was closed to the public. Was told that our reservation had been cancelled however they had failed to notify us. All I had was a confirmation email and a missed call from a private number (no message left and no way of knowing it was the restaurant calling). We got a half baked offer to stay and eat anyway but declined. Was looking forward to our night out but ended up being a costly uber ride for a nice walk around the grounds!
They mixed up the bill. They'd put adult meals on the bill instead of children meals. Then said there was more to pay, although we'd already paid too much. Children had children meals we wouldn't mind but adult meals more expensive. We'll pay upfront and check all details if we ever go back!
Disappointing. Had high tea here - significantly over priced food and average quality. Approx 1 sandwich, 2x little sausage rolls, 2x scones and 2x slices for approx $45 each. View was lovely, but will not be returning for the high tea.
Came for lunch and waited 90min, people that came after us we saw get their meal first. Very understaffed I would say! We went to follow up as to where our order was twice because we had friends with us that needed to catch a plane and it didn't seem to speed things up even though we told them that. Won't be coming back in a hurry that's for sure.
Chips tasted like they were days old, reheated so much they were chewy.
Cocktail jug for the watermelon mojito was just raspberry cordial? Didn’t taste like a mojito at all or watermelon haha…
Such a let down for a cool area and concept
Asked for crispy bacon with my poached eggs definitely not crispy. When I eventually received them the eggs were cold and bacon was not even warm. There was a table of 10 and most found thier brunch was not very nice. Definitely will not recommend it
Great lunch and drinks. Kids loved their meals and our son even said the fries were A Grade! Burgers (chicken and beef) were tasty and definitely worth it. Waffles were also great!
I came in yesterday and had eggs on toast the girl in the kitchen is by far the best at cooking scrambled eggs I will be back! Thank you so much for a lovely breakfast
We were very disappointed with the menu and our meals. The service was slow or non-existent. We won't be going back. Very poor. A nice setting, but terrible management.
Great place only complaint I was on crutches after knee operation the drop off area had a car just parked there the whole time we were dining so I had to park in carport quite a walk
Amazing views, lovely venue, great food & cocktails but unfortunately all let down by the terrible shambles of the service.
Staff seem to be young, inexperienced and unorganised without clear front of house management. Get this sorted and it would be a 4-5 star review. Sorry Apicus.
Ok, could improve a lot.
Communication re booking was non existent, hard to get through on phone, left message to call back, did not happen. Booked for outside arrived to find booking was inside.
A lot of staff on but not much service, continually told, sorry we haven't got that.
Hmmmm, won't be hurrying back
Lovely location and view but costly coffee and the staff are not that friendly. The previous management (Stonethrow) was much better!
Very poor experience, pre booked 10: 30 brunch. Lovely outlook. Although the wait staff did the best they could, they were let down by the kitchen. Two of the meals we ordered, they were out of, one was pancakes! And the other was Avocado toast. We ordered a childs scrambled eggs and bacon and the eggs were liberally doused with pepper, needless to say they were not eaten. I ordered muesle, which was lovely but didn't get it until 11: 30 so had to leave it as we had plans elsewhere at noon.
For the second time we entered and asked for a table of 2 to be informed that they were "very busy" and any meals ordered would take at least 45 minutes. I counted, they had 28 patrons inside to eat and a full kitchen staff on duty. Now I'm not sure if management had the day off and staff were using this as an opportunity to slack off or not but this level or lack thereof of service is unacceptable. We ordered takeaway drinks (which weren't great) and left. It's a shame as the views are great, however due to a number of bad experiences we will never return and won't recommend to family and friends.
