Good service, lovely couple owners however Belgian waffles were more like a sponge cake. Not crispy waffles at all

Definitely come here for the waffles and skip the toasted sandwich. The waffles were fluffy and soft with huge mounds of ice cream on top. Friendly service and the oddest shop offering to blend waffles with opal sales

This was a special place during our trip to Coober Pedy. The owner is a Scotsmen (Jimmy) who makes nice coffee, waffles and mines his own opals with his partner Rosie. The opals sold in the shop are reasonably priced and there is a nice selection of white, crystal and boulder opals to choose from. Jimmy's journey in becoming an opal miner is wonderful. The place is not for precious city folk who require hipster fitouts and indoor plants. But what you will get in return is experiencing the heart and soul of the outback from a local's perspective. We met Les, who was nice enough to show us his underground dugout that his parents built with their own two hands. An absolute highlight.

I walked in where a lady was smoking out the front, she then proceeded to serve me without washing her hands. The place was filthy (not sure why, they looked to have time on their hands) and lastly the coffee was not drinkable. Would not recommend at all.

It was the first time that my Auntie had ever tried waffles and she was not disappointed, great people and great food, thanks also for the chat, we loved it!

Waffles and Gems, does a better combination even exist? We stopped in while visiting from the US and ordered the Opal Waffle and two long blacks. Great conversation and a sugary treat on our way out of town. Such a quaint cafe!

Best waffles I've even had, no contest and pretty much whatever topping you fancy (savory or sweet). The owners are the most amazing people and the local regulars are a great deal of fun to chat with. You can learn so much about the city and opal mining having a meal here (and I had a fair few). The jewelry is also gorgeous and I saw some of the more interesting pieces here. I can't wait to come back next year.

Worst experience of our whole trip. Went in for breakfast and there were two people smoking. Coffee tasted like dishwater.

It tastes a bit different from other waffles, the crust is crispy but melted in your mouth! Really like it!

Ordered the maple syrup waffle and I got half a waffle that was half cooked. Definitely not worth $8

Staff were beautiful and the waffles were the best we have ever tried! And we have tried a few.highly recommend this place if you ever stop in Coober Pedy.

Jimmy is very knowledgeable with more then 40 years experience. Waffle and coffee are great too. Best coffee I had between Port Augusta to Alice Springs.

It is a very friendly place where you can get a great coffee, and other hot and cold drinks, with waffles, and other eats, and look at, and buy some precious gems, including opals, at a very realistic price, while you can listen to the story of opals, by a very well experienced Scottish miner, of many years, and his german wife, also a very experienced opal miner, of many years

We went there twice for breakfast and would go again and again the owners could not be anymore helpful and so kind will be back.

It's a great place to relax and watch the street activity in Coober Pedy. My favourite thing on the menu is the berry smoothie.

The waffles are great, but better still, the staff are awesome! Super friendly and very knowledgeable on opals with 40 years experience in the mines.
Helped the kids with noodling out the front of the store with much success.
Totally recommend a visit.
