Victoria Hotel - Bay Pub

Had an amazing lunch there today! My sons birthday, he had the seafood hotpot and loved it. Steak was cooked perfectly, parmi and schnitzel were large serves and great for growing boys and my chicken avocado was lovely. Would thoroughly recommend this venue.

We stayed in Port MacDonald for five nights holiday and we had dinner here twice because we were so impressed the first time. We had 10 different meals and they were all fantastic. All came out very promptly both times. The Decor is very nice and the service was great. It really made our holiday. Big thumbs up guys

Be aware of meals are just as they are stated, there were no vegetables or salad included, so I am guessing they are extras.

Came in twice while in town for Easter weekend, had the fish and chips and lambs shanks. Great quality delicious meals, great friendly service and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back next time we are here.

Best pub in SA close to the VIC border, great service and excellent staff, us blokes were travelling from Adelaide and they had our beers on time and served our free chips, I’ve never felt more home away from home! I’f I was in need the Victoria hotel is where I would want to stay! 11/10

Very fast service, friendly and fairly priced. They were able to squeeze a family of 4 in without a booking, meals were fresh and a good size. Give them a go.

Very sad when a local gets ripped off 3 times in 2 days but when you see how they do it it’s even worse. The plan is to keep you talking whilst they make a transaction.like the rest of us I never mix finances with a few beers and a good time but after witnessing 3 different transactions in 2 days where they were taking a lend of me I wised up. These stooges were charging nearly $1 more per purchase than what was listed in their bottle shop prices. I saw it and remained quiet until strike 3.useless crow eaters at their best again. Any wonder why Australia is being held back when we can’t even support our own people.

This is South Australias best example of what a pub should be. Other pubs should take note. Accomadation is basic, but not bad, and much better than the price tag let's on. It has better rooms than nearly every 'pub between here and Adelaide. The staff are absolutely amazing, and will move mountains to make sure you enjoy your stay. 10/10 experience.

My wife and I had lunch at the pub today, she had the Crayfish Fettuccine and I had the Chilli Prawns. Both dishes were amazing and the Shipwreck Dining Room was excellent. If you are ever in Port Macdonnell then this is the place to have lunch or dinner.

Went with a large group. Everyone's food was "meh". Service was friendly and none of the beer was flat.

Absolutely beautiful setting and lovely staff that were eager to help and take orders, also the food was delicious with a large menu fit for everyone and nice cold beer for the guys highly recommended

Went there today for lunch with my husband and friend who lives with us. The meals we had are the delicious and the staff are very friendly.
Plus I'm sure my husband will take us back to his new job there in the future.

It was a last minute New Years Eve booking and it was fairly busy. But. There was apparently some technical hitch in the electronic system that was supposed to deliver the food orders to the kitchen, although why nobody saw to poke their heads out and ask why a restaurant full of people is not ordering food escapes me. A 1-2 hour delay on orders was the result, with an expected rush job on the food preparation.

That said the food was generously proportioned although consisted of many prepackaged items and bulk order sauce mixes.
The venue itself consists of a largish open dinning area, a front bar and a gaming room. Standard country pub arrangement.

At the date of this review the rumor was that either the owners or the operators were going to leave soon.

This place is amazing. New owners n chef as of Feb 2020.
Great value, and its the best food i have had in a long time.
Spot on, all prepared in house; no frozen rubbish.
Its a half hour drive from Mount Gambier, and its a very quiet and pretty little seaside town, but this place exceeds most you find in Adelaide.
Staff are super friendly aswell.
Mark this place on your map and make sure you drop in if you are anywhere nearby.

Visited the Hotel for the first time ever today for lunch and was very impressed. The restaurant was lovely and clean and well layed out and the service was friendly and helpful to. The meals were great, I couldn't fault what I had. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Happy to go back again. Would happily recommend the Hotel to others to. Good job.

Great location. Food is like most pubs these days.restaurant prices, average pub meals. Most of the staff good, just count your change!
