Uraidla Hotel reviews
75The goat curry special was divine. Lovely sunny afternoon, good service and an extensive wine list…with recommendations if you are overwhelmed
Best pub in the Adelaide Hills. Friendly staff, good bear, better food and beautiful inside and out.
My partner and I visited for our second time over the weekend and had the most wonderful time. We hadn’t been here since 2021 but we still received the best service from the loveliest staff. We received our meals quite quickly and they were both delicious. We love the Uraidla Hotel and we can’t wait to go back!
It’s a total amazing experience with the most friendliest service that I have ever experienced, Bianca made my wife and I feel very welcome and gave us an amazing experience, as we were here on a holiday from Melbourne, so we couldn’t resist to come back and enjoy it all over again
Popped in for a few beers and what a great surprise. Staff were most friendly and I would say this has to be one of the great pubs in South Australia. A credit to everybody involved in creating this gem. These type of projects are difficult to achieve when trying to satisfy so many regulations and dealing with the various bureaucrats. I don't know who was behind it but we need more people like them to modernise older historic landmarks such as this pub. Lots or function rooms and eating spots throughout - I went midweek and found it easy to park. I will return later this year (I live interstate) to try the food which also looked great. Also thanks to Natalie who offered us some info on the history of the building. This place is a "must visit".
The moment you walk in, you love this hotel. There are so many visual textures to keep you walking around in admiration. There's pressed metal, gaudy Chesterfield furniture, light shades made from old glassware, rustic features, and it goes on.
In addition to the bar and dining area, there are a couple of event rooms. Upstairs is The Loft, and the other room is characterised by the largest inverted Hills hoist.
Another feature room is the tank wine cellar. Basically, it was a massive well, fed by ground water. It has only recently been converted into a cellar. You can see some of the best Australian reds here. These are the 1986 and 1990 Barossa vintages for me. Bring your chequebook as you'll want to enjoy the wine before discovering your bank balance.
Lunch was awesome. The afternoon shines in the large windows as you look out over the valley toward Summertown. The menu offers, 7hr smoked half chicken and 9hr smoked pork rib Both were well presented and tasted awesome. Crushed kipler potatoes were a perfect accompaniment. This is definitely a place for a long lunch with plenty of conversation.
On another occasion, I tried the Uraidla burger. Homemade chips accompany the plate. The burger is definitely worth the hands-on effort. Juicy and full of the flavours you'd expect feom good country produce.
Had their fisherman's board, nothing short of dynamite, 10/10
Good work around, keep it up guys
Great pub and great restaurant, also great beers and great food.look to spend an afternoon here and you're gonna have a good time!
Both outdoor and indoor seating are spacious. The food is tasty and interior design of one of the room is just beautiful. Lots of green ferny plants at the other indoor seating as well. Enough parking space as well at the back. Staff are attentive and friendly. One happy customer?
Overall, the place is pretty good. The staff are great and the outdoor eating areas are excellent. It is regrettable that the kids' menu has mostly deep-fried food - poor effort.
A very dirty and run down restaurant. Unfortunately in the attempt of trying to do something cool and eclectic they've created a heap of old, broken, dirty and uncomfortable seating space. To top it off our table still had drink stains, crumbs and sauce stains even after being "wiped"! Yuck
Food service was quick. But burger (to make things worse ordered the wrong one lol) was dry and average. No dipping sauce with the fries included.
They do live up to their name! Worst pub for sure haha
Have been there many time and it has always be good, but tonight we had a group of 9 we all ordered at the same time via the app, but 2 of us had to wait an additional 40min for our meals, we asked 2 to see where the meals were up to and received poor answers, when they finally did arrive one of our group asked if there was a drink or something as compensation for the 40min delay, the waitress replied “ you can take that up with the bar”
Honey, I shrunk the menu.
We've been to eat at the Uraidla hotel three times over the holidays for drinks and barfood/nibbles, and each time we've been woefully disappointed by the serving sizes.
A little baked Camembert is really just a quarter of a cheap supermarket Camembert (ours had a bit of foil paper still stuck to it) stuffed into a dollsized ramekin with a few crackers for $18. The haloumi chips are 7 chips for $18 served in a natty mini fry basket that they aren't actually fried in. And today's fisherman's basket was sadly a total joke of a few whitebait lightly dusted over four wedges with a couple of dishes of pickled cheapness nearby and more salt than you'll ever need on a platter that still says "Ikea" on its side (for $46).
The service is detached and impersonal, though most of the staff are themselves friendly.
And the place looks good. But they are shafting patrons on the food to pay back the bank.
We can't envisage going only to walk away feeling cheated again.
Great pub. We had a fantastic lunch on Boxing Day with the family. The smoked pork rib was delicious. Wonderful service. The wine cellar is a must see!
We’ve been living in Uraidla just over a year now and every time we go to the hotel the food is fantastic, dinning staff pretty awesome and then we go to the front bar! Good lord, I have never come across such a disinterested bunch of human beings! No chit chat, no how ya doing, it’s like ‘I’m here to do a job and that’s it’! To be honest they just seemed really nonchalant and I really mean in a negative sense. I’ve worked in hospitality for years and I’ve always said to my staff ‘make people feel welcome, like it’s their place, they deserve to be here’ and we want them here! Just a bit of banter a smile or two and I’m happy. Can you guys please work on your manner and just remember have fun, enjoy yourself, make people feel comfortable and they will love you guys forever!
A lovely pub with pleasant outdoor setting, but I was really disappointed with my meal. No kingfish from menu available, so ordered grilled flathead, $29. It came as one small fillet n was very dry, tho chips n green veg.were nice. Not value for money!
A very disappointing experience.
Ordered our meal and after an hour and a half we asked when we might expect our food. There was no response so at the 2 hour mark, enquired again to be told that our order could not be found and the kitchen was now closed.
We did receive a refund, but we will not return nor recommend this venue.
This place offers a great relaxing vibe and friendly staff, then there is the food! …
We were blown away by how excellent everything was! It’s definitely in the top 3 for places in Adelaide? 100% recommend supporting this lovely venue
Melas we're great and plentiful, staff were really friendly and knew the menu well. Lovely setting, great meal, great sized meals. Would happy go again.
Excellent venue, and highly recommended. Went here for my partner’s birthday last Saturday night, meals we all ordered were all on point, staff were excellent, friendly and attentive, and the venue was lovely, not too crowded in the dining area. Do yourself a favour and definitely do the drive up here for a meal!
