Thebarton Theatre reviews
39Went to see and hear 10cc, the band were brilliant as was the venue. Easy street free parking.
Always a pleasure to go to the Theby. Exceptional building with great viewing points no matter where you sit. Acoustics fantastic. Thankfully we will be keeping her. Renovations due to be done.
Great venue! Could do with some parking. I saw two musical productions there - both moved from a different local theatre. The experience here was much never - more room, better seating, stage was bigger, and the show was awesome. The foyer also had more space and there are many, many more toilets! I can imagine a concert being really fun here.
Fine old building, does a good job for intended purpose but a little dated, enjoyed the concert though! Parking around the area at a premium, but hey a little walk won't kill ya!
I have not been to Thebarton Theatre since Skyhooks were a thing. This place is a gem. The acoustics are great. The inside is amazing. The seating in dress circle is great and the view from the boxes must be amazing too. A rich part of our cultural heritage. Very happy it is not to bulldoze for a freeway.
Great experience
Covid marshals were fantastic
Heaps of assistance
We had a great time
Great memories here seeing the veronicas here twice and Jeff Dunham BUT wearing a mask during the show.fine but so social distancing outside in the line don't have to?
APIA Good times Tour - fantastic.
Lotsa grey hair, bald heads and wrinkly skin, but do we know how to party.
Love the theatre. Heaps of atmosphere.
Recently saw Echoes of Pink Floyd show. The band were incredible. The Thebby was a bit caught out with last minute changes to seating because of Covid. Some disgruntled punters not happy with the arrangements. Rightly so.
My husband and I enjoyed a great performance by iconic Aussie singer John Williamson there.
The Thebarton Theatre was a great venue for this in the city. It was a great afternoon even with the covid setup.
Echoes of pink Floyd were great. Venue organisers, how did you come up w/ your covid friendly seating plan?
Went and saw echoes of pink Floyd the show was fantastic. The event staff were a little confusing. We were asked to leave by the side doors but wanted to leave through the front.
Character theatre unfortunately with "character" seating. Narrow uncomfortable seats- normally wouldn't be so bad as I would be up dancing at a concert but no dancing allowed due to COVID restrictions. Quick service at the bar and ladies bathroom large and clean.
A place of social and architectural heritage- feel the years of history seep into you as you take in a live show and be part of tomorrow's history as it unfolds.
I've been crushed in a musical moshpit (@The Prodigy), swooned as they crooned (@Boys II Men) and laughed my heart out (@Ben Elton Show- stand up comedy).
Pick a show and go!
Admission was a bit chaotic with two queues for different Fringe ticket types, compounded with Covid QR scanning it all got a bit hectic and crowded in front of the venue. Inside it's a lovely, yet dated theater. But.
The chairs (folding chairs) are definitely not designed for longer seating and quite uncomfortable. To enforce Covit seating (spaced with an empty seat between patrons), staff were quite active and kept zooming around with their glow sticks.
What a great Friday Night to Experience John Williamson, still at his best Performing Live at the Grand Old Thebby Theatre, and love by Many.
Went to see Ben Folds and the Adelaide symphony Orchestra, it was fantastic, really good venue and sound, it was a great atmosphere
A fantastic venue but the old charisma doesn't make up for seating that is made for a generation of smaller people. Still at least you can see over people's heads. Covid seating a bit odd. Will we ever be able to stand up and dance? Bee Gees first concert band since Covid and they were pretty good.
Great theatre, excellent seat for seeing the show. Saw the JOK Show which was wonderful. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Great experience
