Over Promises and Under Delivers (especially for the cost). It's like the owners have stopped caring.
Although the view and surrounds are very pretty this accommodation is tired and misses a lot of 1%ers that all add up. Many of the same notes were in other reviews.
No balcony privacy between rooms - even a small trellis would have been good.
Various body hair in the spa.
No ingredients for breakfast provisions (for dietary and allergy reasons).
Soap scum and buildup on soap holder and shower.
Cracked and dirty tiles in shower.
Bathroom floor was dirty.
Peeling finish from bathroom hardware.
Shower head needs a clean (water goes at every angle).
No tissues.
TVs don't have adequate reception.
Couch is fraying with holes in the seams.
No way to get food delivered to room.
Can't go out to dinner and have a few drinks (no transport service etc).
No hard copy physical compendium when online version can't be accessed.
Very poor mobile reception (lack of password for wireless internet isn't cybersecurity smart).
No map of the grounds to know where to explore.

Apparently the venue is amazing for functions.

Increased rating to acknowledge the detailed reply of the owner.

It’s a shame the maintenance schedule can’t be carried out.
Whilst I acknowledge that Wireless is provided I would have thought that at the end of the 1.5 page lecture about leaving the heating on and the cost of Emergency Services surely a paragraph could be dedicated to “Taxi and Uber service this area, the local places who provide delivery are……and the local places to eat are……”
We certainly didn’t expect a resort or chain hotel (couldn’t think of anything worse) – we expect a clean facility and to have at least some guidance about the area and grounds.

Stayed here for a night. Room was ok. Lock on the bathroom/toilet door would be nice
Breakfast was bad.minimal possible i.w 2 slice of bread, a yoghurt and a muffin. For the price (approx $200 a night) would expect more.
Definitely wouldn't go back or reccomend. Not at that price anyway

Absolutely stunning and relaxing place.
The rooms are very nice and with all the comforts, the breakfast was very good and healthy.

Nice wedding venue, but the staff are very deceitful, dishonest and cannot be trusted with the accommodation. Definitely worth considering other places to stay.

Super beautiful place, so peaceful and green. Loved the rays of sunshine through the stain-glass window in our room.
Karl is so welcoming and kind. We locked ourselves out and he drove to the hotel early in the morning to let us in.
Highly recommended

Such a beautiful experience! I loved this old historic castle built in 1935. I’m not a fan of staying in hotels but this style of accommodation is truly unique. Located in the Adelaide hills, not far from Uraidla. It was definitely more than we were expecting, containing downstairs with lounge, kitchen area and upstairs with sleeping area, very spacious toilet and bathroom with a deep bath.
We enjoyed the complimentary coffee, juice, bread, yoghurt and granola. Loved all the archways. Beautifully maintained gardens surround the castle. I can imagine weddings here would be stunning.

Attended a Sunday afternoon wedding followed by cocktail food and drinks then stayed the night in one of the 12 townhouses. The wedding went off without a hitch. Staff were awesome and the food was great.
Accommodation is a 2-storey townhouse style with lounge and kitchen on the ground floor then bedroom and bathroom and balcony on the top level. The bed was firm but cosy and there was great water pressure in the shower.
The spiral staircase is extremely tight and not for the faint-hearted.

Our wedding at The Manor Basket Range was the most perfect day! Naomi and her team were wonderful to work with and supported us through each stage of the wedding planning process. Everything ran smoothly on the day and the food was exceptional. It was fantastic to have the use of the bridal dressing suite from the morning and then be able to stay overnight in the accommodation on site. We received many compliments from our guest about this beautiful setting.

My boys and I had a lovely stay. Beautiful rooms and views of the garden nestled in the Adelaide Hills. Looking forward to return one day

What an absolutely magical experience. Thank you so much for letting us stay with you using our tourism voucher. My child loves castles, dragons and knights and you gave us both memories to last a lifetime. We loved our stay with you. I highly recommend this amazing place, it is unlike anywhere we have ever been. What an atmosphere, and the surrounding grounds are just a dream. Very blessed to have been able to experience it.

Great place tucked away in Basket Range. Very quiet and peaceful ambiance. I loved seeing the stars at night and this place would make a good wedding venue with a cozy chapel to boot!

A big thank you to Naomi, Marcus, and the whole Manor Basket Range crew for making our wedding day such an amazing experience!

From the day we book, to the day we tied the knot, your assistance was hugely appreciated and you helped make the process so easy, especially given all the external stresses going on in the world at the time.

Naomi was absolutely fantastic and very helpful prior to the wedding, and Marcus was simply amazing on the night, making sure everything went smoothly.

We received many compliments about how beautiful the venue was, and we both couldn't have asked for a better day. The surroundings were lovely, the ballroom looked great, and the food was magnificent. Thank you once again!

Kyle was such a delight to speak to and the staff at The Manor really went out of their way to help make our stay seamless and smooth. We had a couple of of hiccups due to travel restrictions and they were very accommodating with our request and helped us out through the stay.
Highly recommended venue both for their service and the beauty of The Manor itself.

A very nice reception venue. Has an indoor reception area and an outdoor undercover verandah to allow people to spread out and mingle.
Food was nice but I wouldn’t say exceptional.
Good places for photographers in the gardens outside.
Staff seemed keen to rush ‘last drinks’ about half hour before our bar was due to close.
All in all though it was a good night and a suitable reception venue.
Although there was a smell of raw sewerage on the verandah at the end of the evening. I’m guessing this is not a common occurrence. (Perhaps the septic tank was overflowing).

This is a place out of a fairytale book.
We had my sons wedding here last Saturday and everything went perfect. It was an amazing wedding. ALex and Ellie looked so happy. We will be back for tastings, food and accommodation.

Lovely place, rooms are a great size and spa baths are lovely. The gardens are well maintained and the building is picturesque. Good selection of bread, jams, juice, muffins, Yoghurt and Granola stocked in the fridge for breakfast. Only downside is no cooking appliances besides a microwave and very small fridge making longer stays reliant on utilising local restaurants for every meal as there isn't one here. That said there are some great places to eat locally eg hahndorf and hardys verandah about 15mins drive. Would definitely recommend for weddings, short stays and quick romantic getaways.

A wonderful location for a wedding or milestone event. Setting, staff, service and decor in the events rooms were trendy and beautiful. Staying overnight in the manor the rooms had a few maintenance things wrong with them like the air duct in the bathroom was almost falling out or the shower head was in a bad need of de-scaling. Routine maintenance would see this hit 5 stars most definitely.

I can't thank the team at The Manor Basket Range enough- we had our wedding at this stunning venue on Sunday 4th October. Naomi and Marcus were just outstanding- they made everything so easy and fun to plan. They would reply to e-mails and messages at all sorts of hours, and everything was organised so efficiently. Everything was just perfect- delicious food, excellent service. I highly recommend The Manor Basket Range for any event!

My son and daughter in law had a wedding booked here but unfortunately the coronavirus meant it couldn't go ahead. It had to be cancelled. The manor offered to reschedule but because of a baby on the way they wanted to be married first. The manor refused to refund the $15000 paid up front as per their terms they kept $3000 saying it was a cancellation fee and they have to pay rent. They only related the $12000 after four months of emails and letters from lawyers. Think long and hard before booking any event at this venue. Shame on you manor for taking advantage of this coronavirus
