The Kentish Hotel

It is an iconic pub of Adelaide. The bar people are great with their quick, friendly service. The kitchen is scary. We were seated close to the kitchen, and the floor staff were frantic. Lots of yelling and floor staff running around with meals. Our meals came out promptly, and they looked good. After having a sneak peak through an open door, I was horrified with the state of the benches and floor. Absolute mess with rubbish and food all over the place. It has placed uncertainty about whether to eat there again.

Since reviewing the Kentish 4 years ago we have come back quite often and they now tick all the right boxes. The menu is varied enough to cater to many people and the Chef is doing a good job at bring this through (our last lunch was a pork chop with roasted fennel, apple and saukraut with mustard sauce, the pork melted in the mouth and the accompaniments worked so well. I hope Chef puts this on the menu and not just the specials). The staff here are so attentive and always on the ball. The atmosphere here is worthwhile just to come and have a drink and sit outside in the warmer days that are to come.

We love trivia night every Tuesday. Food is typical pub food. And the quiz master Pete is such a great guy. The vibe js always good. Hopefully one day we win

What an awesome place for lunch! Out on the beautiful tree lined deadend street, lots of shade, excellent service, great wine selection, fantastic food menu, my wife had the Atlantic Salmon she said was amazing, I had what could only be described as the best Mixed Grill I've ever had, and I go out a lot! The mixed grill was on the specials menu, I hope it stays around because that's going to be my pick for every visit. I think this will be a regular Sunday outing from now on!

Ordered a seafood mixed grill. The fish sticks - battered around the plastic wrapping on them. No manager to be seen. Staff lovely. Father's day lunch ruined by plastic. I could not continue my meal. Staff apologised and refunded just the meal? This destroyed the rest of the meal. Where was the manager to explain the plastic wrapping?

We ate in the restaurant. We had a lovely table in the sun, with a view out to the street. The food was delicious and very generous in serving size. I had pork belly which was very enjoyable. We would definitely go again.

The food was hot, the service was friendly and the place looked clean. That ticks all the boxes for me.

With such a wide culture of a menu it's oustanding that every dish perfect, I think I found my favourite spot

Amazing old pub with lots of charm and style in a stunning location. I really enjoyed my visit at the Kentish. Food was excellent. Lovely and friendly service. Parking can be a little difficult.

THE. BEST.butter chicken!
Shared a late Saturday night dinner (just before the kitchen closed at 9pm) with my husband and we both ordered the butter chicken. It was so so delicious. The roti is divine and the sauce is packed full of flavour. It was such a nice ambience out the front on a warm spring evening. Thank you - we will be back!

Had a function there. Easy to deal with, awesome service, food and staff. The function area is a really good to have presentations, networking or even celebrations.

I've been here a few times since the last review. The food has been great everytime. The service also has been warm and welcoming which has brought me back a few times.

The venue has undergone a nice reno since the last time I was there.

The staff were happy and helpful. The food was good but not amazing. They only have one gravy which I thought was pretty poor.

The only real disappointment was that we all ordered under the same table number, but there was a 10 minute wait between meals coming out which meant my food was cold by the time my friends arrived.

I would go back.

The Kentish Hotel is a lovely pub tucked away in North Adelaide. It has various dining sections all of which are really comfortable. The food is great. Quality pub food. Staff are lovely and even when it's busy they're smiling. The Kentish has a lovely vibe about it.

Super busy and very noisy on a Friday night!

Chicken parmi was absolutely fantastic!

Staff were quick to serve at the bar, and friendly and attentive in other areas of the pub too.

Tha lady in charge on Sunday, Millie, was excellent. Always smiling and very helpful. Have been here on numerous occasions and found the food to be very good with a good selection.

The best Small Plates (Tapas) I have had since Spain in 2019. Char grilled chilli prawn, fish croquettes, pork dumplings and satay chicken skewers. All absolutely delocious

The burger not to miss!
After not eating burgers for more than a decade, this burger changed my whole perspective on the 'what a real burger should be like' and I have been fortunate enough to find plenty of other places serving a burger the way it should be served. So tasteful, well presented, and more than enough to fill me up and get me going.
Great place with a great atmosphere and a great and very attentive and friendly staff.

Favourite pub in adelaide. Would recommend, has a nice alfresco area as well. Service is great most of the time. Gets hectic in peak hours.
