The Bridgewater Inn reviews
41 It’s an amazing establishment. Great setting - such a beautiful spot.
The kids loved playing near the stream. Made little boats and raced them. We were seated right next to the stream, so could keep an eye on them.
Great food, drink and live music. It can get busy but the service is still superb. If you haven’t been, make it an absolute ’must’! Highly recommended.
Drove up to Bridgewater Inn up in the Adelaide Hills for a family lunch.
Nice scenic drive, accentuated by light showers.
The property is historical, nestled at a bend of a rather quiet street. Ample parking spaces gave an early impression of the huge popularity of this property.
Glad we called up ahead and made a reservation, else we would have had to wait for at least an hour.
We ordered the rump steak medallion, roast chicken and a kid's meal deal (cheese burger+drink+sundae).
The service was prompt and efficient and the food was fantastic.
Met with the chef, Stephen and gave him the compliment of preparing excellent food.
Good value for time and money spent!
Highly recommended
Recently had the pleasure of a relaxing lunch in the outdoor area at a table shaded with a large umbrella overlooking the scenic creek setting.
Service was very good provided by friendly staff. Speed of service was good for both food and drinks.
The menu provided a good selection of standard pub style food. The drinks menu was large and diverse.
There was also a seasonal specials menu and special drinks menu.
Plenty of parking on the Aldgate side of the pub not immediately apparent when driving past.
Extremely disappointed- ruined our family NYE-If I could rate this place 0 stars for food i would. We live in the local area and couldn't wait to try the Inn, finally. We had been to the Mill and knew from friends/being inside the Inn that it wasn't exactly the same but we couldn't wait because it wasn't as formal (which is what we generally prefer) and was family friendly with a relaxing vibe.
When we eventually got seated (we moved due to the bistro downstairs being too dark and having no windows) my husband ordered me a diet coke which was flat and tasteless- we got the coke replaced which was fine. But then our food arrived and my burger was raw. As a family, we have dined all over the Adelaide hills and i have NEVER had my burger raw (just for background info) i have a debilitating medical condition, its complex but basically because of this, means i cant have most dishes and the dishes i do have have to be plain. This was sent back- again fair enough. But when my food came back out- the meal had dressing sauce on which my husband ordered WITHOUT.
As mentioned above, without going into my personal details, its important my meals are plain. My burger was also burnt to the point it had shrivelled up and crumbled. I managed to eat a few chips but that's it. We had been saving ourselves for this meal, the first replacement took 25 mins and our young son was becoming upset so we couldnt wait for yet another order. So i ordered some bottled water to wash some of it down-when the waiter came it was WARM. So overall, everything i ordered last night was awful. Not to mention not one sever, waiter or bar tender asked how our meal was-if this was the case we would certainly not be writing this review. It really doesn't take a lot to please us at all but as a family struggling for money, last night was a treat for us. $100 all up is at least 3 months savings for a nice night- all gone to waste. For some, it doesn't sound a lot but for our family, where we live week to week on minimal earnings and children, its everything. Thanks Bridgewater, definitely wont forget last night in a hurry.
Great place with a lovely atmosphere, and even fully booked it runs like a well-oiled machine.
Get the giant pretzel, it’s quite amazing.
How good is this place. Wide open spaces great food, great service. Everything was top notch. Really love the outdoor seating area near the creek. Kids had a ball exploring the creek area.
Staff were friendly, service was very good and no long waits. The building and outside is beautiful, however, its not all accessible. Standard pub style food, not bad, not exceptional. Awesome views.
We had our wedding at the Bridgewater Inn recently and we couldn’t fault a thing. Elise, Matt and all the staff were absolutely amazing and went out of their way to make the day perfect! The food was absolutely incredible! Elise and Matt thank you so much for an amazing night!
Such a beautiful location. Our food was great! Food and drink prices were pretty good. We adored sitting by the creek with the ducks. We’re very excited to eat here again!
Beautiful warm sunny day sat outside down by creek. Tasty menu and seniors menu. Staff attentive. QR code checkin and masks required when standing.
What a great location and pub! We sat river side, had attentive staff, amazing food and great entertainment - Ella & Sienna. Huge variety of food - roast pumpkin, surf and turf and pub normals - steak sandwich. The pub was busy but-staff could not have made us more comfortable. Easy to park or walk too. Worth the bus ride from Adelaide.
Like most places covids ruined, surprisingly the Bridgey still gets by with a good tick to the venue.
Only little let down personally if i didn't want to get into details specifically about all the small things wrong is, -what happened to the 4 pool tables growing up? Enduring in the main front room as a massive social spectical and now its either ghosttown 5 day's a week or your looked at like a red carpet walker entering the pub the 2 other days, when it's proper busy and sufficient to have? Instead they have seating that just gets (maybe) used throughout the week. Only on weekends for it to actually fill up for people eating? 5 day's a week no one uses, 2 days with? If i had a pub to keep it original and happy for the locals it's probably commonsense to have both optional for the sake of being versatile & gaining more business weekly. Over the changes in that factor, but the pandemic has changed everything/everyones spectical, -moneys everything unfortunately.
Good pub still though lol.
Enjoyed our meal and meeting friends at the Bridgewater Inn. Menu Excellent. Staff relaxed and friendly. The garden setting, complete with creek has been landscaped beautifully. Car parking easy.
Went to Bridgewater inn today had seniors menu was do nice excellent value staff all very friendly would recommend to everyone thankyou
I have really enjoyed eating in the downstairs dining area over the years. Warm and friendly location.
Loved it! Very romantic out in the beer garden Situated in a good little spot with a small river with friendly little ducks. The staff were nice and helpful.
Loved the food
Loved our lunch there Very popular Meals were very well presented and delicious My lambs fry was very tender and tasted as good as it looked Sweets were sticky date pudding and my husband had apple pie We will be going back and joining all those customers who were also enjoying their meals as well
Waters edge dining in the form of a babbling brook, sun shining, beautiful spring afternoon, delicious food, lovely for that special occasion or any occasion. It's become a favourite.
Great location, even in winter, rugs and heaters supplied. I’m keen to return with the kids and gum boots to play in the creek. Good GF Gluten Free options clearly labelled on the menu.
Vegetarian snitzel with mash and gravy. Hooley Dooley.yum! Very generous serves. I didn't even have tea tonight! The staff are the friendliest you will find anywhere which makes it all a very nice experience.
