Taste of the Himalayas reviews
52Sorry to be honest, but we were disappointed. Lots of good reviews, but the serving size did not justify the price. Butter chicken was lovely, but one of the other chicken curries was dull in flavour and not worth the money.
Delicious food. So much flavour. The Roti is amazing, the entree were delicious, and the meat/curry was so tender and flavoursome.
Wife and I had a great date dinner together.
Unfortunately they could not handle the amount of people we had booked for a week in advance, along with the other customers and therefore dinner service was very, very slow. They needed to have more people cooking and serving food and drinks. Some if the food was very nice but the butter chicken and naan type breads were not the best in my opinion.
Always have trouble choosing just one main from the enticing menu of mild-to-med-hot curries and Nepali dishes, some on sizzling platters.
Plenty of entrées, naans, vego options and sides. Always tasty.
Attended friends reception party. Worst experience ever. There was no cutleries set on the table. Very unorganised. Asked for waitstaff to organise cutleries for table but didn’t respond to it. Had to remind getting it on the table. Food wasn’t to standard either.
Would recommend the owner to keep an eye on the top ups. Focussing solely on veg top up seems dodgy. Be generous on non veg items too lol.
Not a good experience for first time at taste of Himalaya. Wouldn’t be back for food or a function either. I wouldn’t be happy if my friends returned home unsatisfied at a reception party if I organised one.
Great authentic tasting Nepalese.
Wonderful, fresh flavours, took me right back to eating in Nepal. Even had goat curry without bones.
Attentive service.
Thank you.
We had party in this venue and it was totally nightmare. Worst food I ever had in my life. It was totally tasteless. How come Nepalese food be so bland with no salt no spices nothing. So disappointed by the service as well.
First time visiting and will definitely be back! Amazing food at a very reasonable price, attentive service, calm atmosphere, and good location. Would highly recommend!
We looked for this place and dined in late for dinner.
Food was amazing with full of authentic Neplease flavour. The Momo was divine so was bara in newari Khana.
The duck was amazing as well. Only recommendation is the goat which could have been better.
The Owner came and asked for feedback as well.
A place worth visiting in SA if you are in town.
Taste of Himalayas has absolutely zero taste of Himalaya. They really need to work on their food if they wanna promote nepalese cuisine
This place has amazing curry and amazing food. Me and my family all enjoyed this delicious meal.
Very friendly people cooking lovely food. Fairly priced. They made me a Fluffy Duck cocktail and it tasted wonderful. I'll definitely go back again.
Food was absolutely delicious! We even ordered more to takeaway for the next days' family gathering just to spread the word. Staff were lovely and even let us walk in close to 10pm on NYE of all nights. This has made our 'hit list'.
We went for lunch and were the only customers. Apparently their grand opening is set for Friday. Should be a great occasion. Highly recommended
Please make sure to match what’s in the menu and serve the exact food. Worst experience ever. Food was very bland and tasteless.
Really recommend goat curry with bones in! Waitstaff was also super helpful and accomodating of our requests
My 92 year old father, sister and I have been regulars here for over 7 years. We love the food, but even more than that we really value the relationship we have developed with the beautiful staff who work here, in particular Sunny and Anu. They are the reason we keep coming back, and we hope to for at least the next 7 years, when dad will be 99!
The best Nepalese restaurant in Adelaide. Authentic Nepalese taste, good portion for the price and great service!
Highly Recommended.
Five us decided to have the Minimum 4 person banquet.
Most of us, was our first time there. Chose the goat curry over the lamb (they ask your preference.).
Everything that was put in front of us was, well, simply delicious.
I managed to take a picture of the starter but after that, forgot, sorry!
Tip: get the one with the dessert, the icecream is really good.
Will be back, totally recommend xxx
Food was good. Dined in about 7 yrs back, never been again, went there for a funtion my friend organised. Its not the authentic nepalese food u get.
