Tantanoola Caves Conservation Park reviews
61Interesting Caves to visit. It’s a small cave but it’s great for those who can’t walk far, as once you go through the door to the cave you are right there in the cave as you enter into the side of the hill. There is no long walk down, down into the cave. Interesting guided tour that’s not too long and then you are left to look around and enjoy. There are also a few chairs to sit on for those who need to. Well priced for what it is.
Breathtaking caves.so beautiful, I was mesmerised. The guide was very friendly, with lots of information to give about the caves and places to visit around Mt. Gambier. I recommend doing the walk around the park too, saw some kangaroos and had a picnic in the shade of trees.
Small cave but has aspects of all other caves i have seen. Absolutely stunning and worth the drive.
Stunning cavern with a lot to take in, guided by a wonderful and knowledgeable parks guide.
It's very easy going, and wheelchair accessible which is quite unique when it comes to cave exploration. It isn't expansive, and can be viewed in 15-30 mins depending on your proclivity for the exploration of the minor stalactite features (let's face it, most aren't there for the stalagmites).
An hour drive from Mount Gambier, SA and also close to the coonawarra wine region. $15 entry ticket for adults for half hour tour. Place worth a visit.
Amazing cave. Our family (2 adults + 3 kids under 8) enjoyed this. We lasted about 25 mins exploring the cave and you can exit when you are ready so that was helpful! Guide was great.
The 500 metre walk around the cave was fun too and worth doing.
We were lucky on getting straight onto a tour. No online booking capability yet and no reservations on the phone. If you call the guide can give you a sense of how busy they are which was helpful but still a bit of a planning risk/stress when driving from a distance.
Worth the visit! If you pass by it in the am, grab tickets to visit in the pm. We enjoyed our visit after seeing Mount Gambier!
What an amazing natural phenomena, only $14.50 entry for full fair adult, fantastic to see in the real, photos are great but absolutely brilliant to walk among them.
For a first experience it was really good. I love going to caves and just exploring and the cave looked amazing and you could take some amazing photos there. The prices are really affordable and the scenery is amazing.
Amazing and beautiful I loved it, hard to believe
the tiniest stalictite is 89 years old
Spent a good 30 minutes inside the cave enjoying the sights. It is a small cave but there is alot to see. Price was fair and happy to pay. Would go back
Awesome small cave. The most decorative cave in and around Mt Gambier. Don't miss it. You won't be disappointed. Most people complain how small it is BUT it's not the size it's what's inside and this one is the best. It's 1 of only 5 wheel chair accessible caves. Although it sits up on a hill you can probably drive upto the office to drop off.
The guide is awesome as well with a brief history On the cave. I've visited here before and love seeing this cave.
The price was $14 per person and it was not worth the price tag. The cave was tiny, one room only. At first it was beautiful but then you realise thats it and so much has been altered to the cave so it didnt feel special.and apparently we were lucky to get there just in time for the tour to start, we were not impressed. I would understand a few dollars entry fee but not $14 each and you can be in and out in 5 minutes. I would not recommend this cave sorry.
Absolute wow factor, we had the privilege of being the first through the door to see the cave at the first flick of the light switch. Beautiful example of what caves are all about. Fun to find and discover what previously experienced from other cave visits which was all in your own time and pace. Loved it and thank you to Angela our host on the day.
Great place to bring the family or stop at your on your road trip. It's the first wheelchair accessible cave, and has a "chocolate" coloured formations. Angela, the tour guide, was really friendly and accommodating. She made the experience so much more enjoyable. Would visit again!
Beautiful as always.a must see cave, where you can look around and take pictures at ease and amazing views outside the cave too
Beautiful, natural, wonders. The energy of this place and the stalictites is one rarely experienced.
The cave is undoubtedly very pretty but the cave is quite small. I was expecting quite a bit of walking inside the cave but that didn't happen here. But that makes it accessible for people with wheelchair as well so that's quite nice.
Smallish cave with impressive stalagmites and stalagmites. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
This is definitely worth a stop to view Mother Nature at its best. We purchased the tour tickets and had a fun tour guide. He was not boring while giving us some detailed facts and figures about the cave and the general region history.
Inside the cave itself was absolutely amazing. Outside there are hiking trails for the more adventurous. The grounds outside is good place for a relaxing picnic and rest area.
