Singapore House reviews
81Ambience aplenty, good staff, multiplicity of flavours, multiply visitable, as ever I will.
Save your Money, go to the food court!
Had heard good things about this restaurant, so decided to celebrate a birthday there. Asked the waiter about a wine, he had no idea about it. Ordered the banquet, very average selection. Tiny satay chicken portions between four people, served two types of pork, but too similar to tell apart (why do two pork dishes?), bland taste. The Salt & Pepper Quid was soggy; have had better from ALDI! Potato Dumplings were obviously a cheap dish to make, was left virtually untouched. The Indian offerings were no better than your average Indian takeaway at the food court, butter chicken was way to sweet! Tiny portion of Asian greens, but a huge bowl of rice. Naan bread was average. Definitely not worth $55 per head. Not much of a wine list, and expensive. To top things off, one of our guests suffered from food poisoning that night. Can't 100% verify that it was from here, but I won't be back to find out. The one star is for the building, nice room & nicely fitted out.
Wow. Simply wow. What a restaurant. Had my 26th birthday dinner here with my closest friends. Booked online which was simple and easy. Talked with the manager over the phone and he was super down to earth and friendly. They were very accommodating and happy for me to bring balloons and met my every requests. The restaurant is absolutely stunning. We were assigned a waitress for the night, she was so beautiful and did her job terrifically. She took our whole tables order with no pen or paper. The food was exquisite. Every person loved their meal. The rice and naan came out at the perfect time with all the meals.
Highly recommend:
Crispy beef, sticky pork, steamed dumplings.
Warning: the vindaloo is not just hot it's deathly. It's absolutely delicious but if you usually get vindaloo and love spice you are in for a CHALLENGE so please be careful. They let us stay away past our booking time as they were closing and we were the last table there, chatting away have a ball. They could have kicked us out but they didn't, even helping us with photos.
I can not wait to come back! Maybe my new favourite restaurant?
Way over priced. Small portions. Tasted ok. Service is fine. I cannot recommend it because of the price
Absolutely delicious meal, extremely well priced and lovely waiters. I would highly recommend the coconut creme brûlée!
It was a nice atmosphere, very busy, the food was prompt, fresh and tasty, obviously a local hangout, would recommend.
Did the share menu here with the family. It was very tasty, all of us happy and full. Cheese naan, sticky pork, satay chicken, potato dumplings were delicious. Not much difference between roast pork and sticky pork, I think the roast pork should be swapped out with something else to explore more of the menu. Loved the decor - serious Singapore Raffles vibes.
I've come to Singapore House about five or so times over the years with my family. It's never disappointed. Last night was no exception. The food was delicious and great for sharing and the service was great. We'll be back!
Charges $10 a bottle for each sparkling water without telling you? Sparkling water is usually free and not telling us was kinda lame
Great little joint, food was fantastic - quick and affordable, the place comfortable, staff friendly and the location great.
For the price point, the dishes are value for money - we definitely over ordered for two people but were happy to take leftovers home for lunch the next day. The venue is pretty cool, especially one of the rooms that has a wall completely decorated in butterflies. I agree with some of the other comments that the food is good and I’d come back here but not in a rush
A wonderful place for a large group. The banquet was excellent. Can get a bit noisy but great atmosphere and ambience. Food is tasty!
Great meal, loved the yellow duck curry and potato dumpings! Unfortunately; a few odd interactions with our waitress when selecting the wine and a small mix up with the bill.
A great place for dinner! Menu was great with choices for everyone. We were a group of 6 and well looked after. Service was quick and correct orders. The food was out of this world - tasty, delicious and fresh. We will definitely be back.
Staff is okay. Place looks nice. Had the tempura eggplant-way tooooo much vinegar and very salty. There is no music-it makes the atmosphere very weird. I can hear everyone chew and every baby cry.
A first time customer.and a last time customer. Prob the worst green curry I’ve ever tasted. It was all green wrinkled up beans with a very runny flavourless sauce, no taste or spice at all. The “ginger” vegetables were again, 90 % green beans, very over cooked and soggy, with absolutely no taste of ginger. VERY disappointing. Never again.
Everything was great and tasted, the service was great. The only issue is that it wasn't something great for the price you'd pay.
Never heard of this place but the food was bloody fantastic. Worth the trip and certainly will go back there. Thanks to the lovely man and his wife who spolit us for the night as a thankyou even though I'm just Giulio's wife it was lovely to put a face to your names. Had a great night. Merry Christmas to the staff and a lovely bunch we got to share the night with. Very much appreciated Giulio and Bernie xoxo
Dinner at @singaporehouseadl a couple of weeks ago. We have not been here for many years! I remember the food was good but nothing too special, and I think it is still about the same (similar menu too). The food was pretty tasty, and the service was prompt and efficient. The consistency is good, and appreciated.
.
Chicken satay: pretty decent, and the peanut sauce was tasty!
.
Baked mushrooms with cheese and sambal: these were really yummy! Quite a fusion of flavours. The sambal was not really sambal though - it tasted more like chilli jam that wasn't spicy at all. Would have been nicer if they used proper sambal.
.
Soft shell crab sliders: these sliders were absolutely delicious! Definitely can't go wrong.
.
Eggplant tempura: another good dish that you can't go wrong with. Lightly fried but crispy on the outside, and soft eggplant on the inside.
.
Salt and pepper squid: these were nicely fried, but I was a bit confused by the sauce - it was a bit too sweet for my liking. Would have been nicer if it was a bit spicer.
.
Sticky pork: caramelised pork belly with Asian salad and black vinegar. This was delicious! Super tender pork belly. Just can't go wrong if you enjoy pork belly ️.
.
Cauliflower and pear salad: I quite enjoyed this side dish - bold cumin and tumeric flavours. Delicious!
.
Yellow duck curry: nicely done. Tasty duck!
.
Oven baked fish: pretty tasty fish in a nice sauce!
Always a good time with the best food, me and my family go there all the time for celebrations.
