Shibui Dessert Bar reviews
37Rating for the pop-up stall at Gluttony. Think twice! Waited for over 40 minutes for three donuts! Like what the actual f? ! There was no system in place, no ETA on how long the order would take and they were calling out numbers as if at random. If you know your two menu options are donuts and ice-cream, it shouldn’t be too hard to prepare ahead of time. $20 for 3 mocha donuts is also a rip-off but I do understand that is the price you pay at the Fringe. I’d suggest people think twice before lining up at their Fringe stall.
I've been here at least 5-6 times, never a dull day with the desserts the offer. The quality is really good with flavor and presentation to the top level.
70 points dessert
It's okay to sit and chat with friends. The coffee tastes pretty good, but not amazing.
I really hope Ade Food can wake up
Loved their dessert especially their sticky date pudding and choco lava tart! Such a creative way to present it as well. A must visit in Adelaide.
Best place in Adelaide for a late night dessert! The customer service is more than fantastic. It is so clean and modern inside, they make sure you get enough room on the table. Cutlery were gold. Loud music which made the vibe. We ordered three desserts: the strawberries and tea, crème brûlée with raspberry candy and chocolate lava tart. The crème brûlée was definitely the star, the sugar and the pastry gave it that crunch while it paired with the crème and the raspberry candy. The chocolate tart had a nice ooze and its ice cream was delicious.
First time here and the desserts are AMAZING SO DELICIOUS, seriously good with lots of complimentary yummy flavours in one dessert, awesome
Looks supperb! Tastes amazing and staff is friendly. Must go. Have catch ups with GFs. And spoil yr self
Shibui changes their menu every season, so it's never the same coming here! The creme brullee (1st pic) was definitely my favourite. The butterscotch sauce for the dates pudding was so buttery and delicious too! The mango pudding was not outstanding but overall great experience!
Quite pricey for the actual dessert & their portions, but it makes up for it in presentation taste.
Dark hot chocolate was delicious, but the 50¢ extra for an odd tasting marshmallow was average, will skip on that next time.
Nice simple decor and very Insta worthy deserts. I tried the Appel crumble but was too sweet for me nevertheless still recommendable
Presentation was alright, however the pavlova was despicable. The meringue was merely a shell of what it should’ve been and was mostly a thick toffee like substance resting at the bottom of the bowl. This usually isn’t such an issue however the meringue was awkwardly sized so you would have to split it in two in order to eat it. Obviously, breaking open a dense meringue is near impossible and made the overall eating experience more challenging. Please remove the pavlova from your menu.
It was nice set up but because not everyone wanted to order we were told to leave. I get that they say during busy period you need to order but when there is no line up or place wasn't full I couldn't see a problem if one person out of 5 didn't order.
Amazing place and lovely dessert. The food was really delicious and service was exceptional
Shoutout to all the staff that dressed up for Halloween it was an ingenuous idea
Awful experience. Rude, terrible and unprofessional customer service.
I don’t mean to disregard the entire staff but we were extremely disappointed at the way we were treated. We went on a weekday night for a cuppa and the place wasn’t too busy. We ordered hot chocolates for take away and sat on the table while we waited. The staff member who took the order came back three times to check if that’s all we wanted and then she just asked us to stand and wait near the door instead of waiting on the table? She just rudely asked us to get up from the table and wait on the side!
Again, the place wasn’t too busy and there were spare tables available. It really felt like she was disappointed that we didn’t order enough. The quality of the hot choc also wasn’t great and I later realised that she also overcharged us.
We liked coming here for the desserts and hot chocolate but the behaviour tonight really turned us off.
Got the mochi donuts at the lucky dumpling market for the first time. They were absolutely incredible! I wish they sold them at their main store because I told all of my family and friends about them but now they wont get to try: (
Great time! Friendly accommodating staff, beautiful presentation on the dishes. I had the Rasberry Creme Brulee and macarons.
Dined here and had the chocolate lava tart which was beautifully plated with milk caramel chocolate whipped ganache, sliced fresh strawberries, strawberry gel, compressed strawberry crisp, hazelnut crumble and hazelnut ice cream. The dessert was not too sweet with a lot of textures, and slightly tart from the strawberry components. Chocolate tart was a little underwhelming as there wasn't much chocolate lava filling. Also bought some cakes, tarts and macaron for takeaway which was more enjoyable and tasty for the price.
Writing this review as I am waiting for my food. The customer service was terrible tonight, however my fiancé assures me it has been good before. What really irks me is the fact that we were unfairly treated. We each ordered atleast one drink or dish each and were told to order more. However, other tables clearly had only ordered one item.
Always great experience having dessert here! Would definitely recommend Shibui for fixing your sweet tooth. I believe they update their menu monthly too.
Shibui desserts are excellent. Its a cute place to go after dinner.
Only criticism is that their open times online are inaccurate and their staff weren't on the same page about if they could serve us or not when we arrived at 10pm on a Saturday (the website says they close at 11, Google says 10: 30). We were served by staff who made it very clear they didn't want us there. The desserts were hurried together and not their best work.
