Savers reviews
65 Someone needs to check what is appropriate and what isn’t appropriate to sell and show to customers, this is disgusting and I will not be shopping at savers again.
It wouldn’t be appropriate to put “I support terrorism” but this is basically saying the same thing. Very offensive especially after 30.000 women and children have just recently lost their lives to this terrorist organisation.
This is one of my favourite op shops in my area because it's big and there's always something good there, especially shoes and jeans. However, prices have been going up recently and I'm finding items that are priced really close to or more than original retail price. This is especially the case on a lot of items from SHEIN or Boohoo, which, by the way, make up a lot of the store's stock.
I also collect CDs and I find that Savers has the worst quality second hand CDs for a higher price than what you would find in Salvos. I bought a double CD for $6 only to find that the first CD wasn't even in the case. There's a pretty big collection of music and books and not all of it is bad quality but the store isn't really taking the time to price the poorer quality items properly.
The self-serve checkouts are pretty dodgy as well and I would much rather be served by an employee.
Still, this Savers is one of my favourite stores, and I managed to get a huge bundle of clothes recently for only $50. I just hope the prices don't get much higher and that they take better care of their music stock.
I use to enjoy the Savers store at Modbury. I had been shopping here for 5 years now, weekly.
I have noticed the whole atmosphere, vibe, staff to customer interactions etc use to be enjoyable, pleasurable and positive. But for the past 1.5 to 2 years it's just gone down hill. Team members look miserable and don't bother asking for help with anything. I'm not sure what has changed, other than the noticeable different faces of management & team.whatever it is, needs a whole new adjustment or take me back to 2020.
Different workers monthly including Managers. BUT same miserable expressions.
Feel for the workers.
P.s
No wonder the guy who takes donations and is head to toe ink. (can't recall his name as never has badge or necklace) no wonder he always smells of the hippy leaf.
Only way to enjoy work
Thanks
In response to the review left by the person below Joel - I witnessed this incident today and the person playing the victim here actually assaulted the poor woman with the pram as they left the change room. I also witnessed staff go above and beyond to try and accomodate his incredibly rude wife whose behaviour was absolutely disgusting. Well done to staff at savers Modbury for having more patience than I would have.
Price is a lot higher than it was just a short time ago but still has a good range of items.
Has frequent sales on specific categories
So many bargains and cheap finds at this op shop. Always getting in new stock. Go to this op shop
Love, love savers. Amazing store great store Staff are always pleasant, courteous, friendly and understanding.
Always interesting and different things to buy. You'll find something you need or just want.
Excellent place to buy all types of curios and knick knacks donated by kind souls. And of course the goto place for picking up that cool pricey branded party outfit for the weekend bash.at amazing bargain prices. Blessed you will be as the proceeds go for charitable work.
This is probably the best op shop I've ever been to! Always had amazing finds and great bargains. I find so many high quality brand that are in good condition and easily get lost browsing for a good hour. It's always so fun to hunt for a good find and I always leave with way more than I'd intended.
They are becoming less "charity shop" prices and more "Cash converters" prices - being a bit.hmmm. Considering Cash Converters did pay for the items they sell, unlike Savers - who basically got their 'for profit' purposed idea from genuine non for profit charity shops.
Its great to make a living and to be able to give a swag of people jobs to do the same, its a great business venture to do such things, but feel its a brand on its way to being bigger than it really should be.
Finding a pair of shoes with $29.95 on the Savers tag only to discover the original retail price was still attached at $45.feels a bit funny, when it's known those shoes came to them for free from people who did pay the full price.
I'll still shop there, I probably won't donate there though.
Friendly and interactive workers. There was so many options and sections to choose from, all at such an affordable price. Clothes smell clean, not at all musty or smelly!
Favourite place get what you need and repurpose perfectly good items, everything you need is in this shop and the prices are so good!
A good store, but I find the quality of items is reflective of the area. They have some good stuff but it's not my favourite store.
Always seems to be busy too with lots of families so things are not always tidy. Not the stores fault, more the families for being messy.
Still an enjoyable trip but I prefer the other locations.
Best place for finds you won't get elsewhere cheap as
Friendly staff
Honestly can't go wrong here
Way overpriced and smelly, possibly at least a decade old in one case, u could buy better just about anywhere, disgusting
Where else can I pick up some random blokes old footy trip t-shirt from 2008? Good staff, good prices, no complaints
Used to be reasonably priced but they have become expensive can buy cheaper brand new so was very disappointed
It's alright for the Variety of Unexpected Items.
Although the Staff ain't that Best!
They are quite Unfrofessional to be Honest.
And not very Helpfull
Might wanna Hire some Staff with Social Skills and Qualifications in Business Studies or Retail Skills.
So much variety, it's amazing. Some things are over priced. The homewares section has so many good items! You can always find something in the huge store. Customer service is good. Great accessibility for those with wheelchairs!
