Saudade - Portuguese Custard Tarts

I have just come back from Portugal and tried many Portuguese tarts there and none compared to the fantastic tarts at Saudade - absolutely delicious!

Asked for a warm custard tart, was given a cold one. Asked for a replacement and was told I would have to pay for a new one.
Have been here plenty of times, however bad customer service is no excuse, no matter how good your product is.

An absolute favourite. Portuguese tarts are authentic to the ones I had in Lisbon. I don't live nearby so am delighted to stop in every time I go to Adelaide.

Great, convenient new store location in the former Baker's Delight of the Adelaide Central Market. Tarts are delicious, perhaps a little overly sweet but that could be just be my personal taste preferences. Do keep in mind I haven't been to Portugal so I cannot compare. Either way, I love the freshness and would definitely recommend to anyone interested.

Be very careful going to Saudade, you may find yourself with an empty box because you ate all 6 tarts yourself! They are absolutely divine and extremely morish. A must for any Portuguese tart lover or general pastry enthusiast!

Recently I had the pleasure of ordering some of these wonderful custard tarts again. To say that these morsels are heavenly would be an understatement. At first, you take one of these delights from the packaging, feeling the lovely pastry and as you raise the tart to your mouth you smell the beautiful aroma of syrupy custard. You then take a bite and.of my wordy lordy.my tonsils have just been made love to by this beautiful custard tart. Beware! You can't just stop at one!

These tarts are superb. To heir coffee is not so bad either. Good place for a break between shopping!

Really nice place to visit.located in mitcham shopping center, they have a superb location, staff are very friendly, the portugese tarts are the highlight and simply a must try. If you are a local or a visitor Saudade will make you visit memorable.

I am no stranger to Portuguese egg tarts. Raised in Macau where those tarts were popular to locals and tourists alike and I have been to Portugal for a couple of times and had them compared. I am with a very sound mind what they are supposed to be liked.

When I found out there was one opening in Adelaide, I was overjoyed.

There were not authentic, not at all. The condensed milk part was missing and the egg part needs body.there was “nobody” to them. The pastry part is too “thin” hence missing the “bite”.

I sincerely hope they will look at improving them as I will closely monitor … I love egg tarts.

This is one of the best pastry/tart places i have ever been. The tarts are rich creamy and so delicious. They have the perfect crispy pastry and workers were very friendly and welcoming. I would definably recommend this shop to anyone who is in seek of a good and tasty tart, I absolutely loved them, thank you saudade!

Oh my god! No saudade (melancholia) here.just three bites to each tart.and one tart is never enough!

Saudade is the place to go for pastel de nata (Portugese tarts). The perfectly scorched Portuguese tarts are filled with a smooth, rich custard and encased with crisp layers of golden puff pastry. All baked on site and are undoubtedly the best in Adelaide. Go on, you know you want it.

Always get great service here. Very friendly and polite staff. Amazing custard tarts. I like to eat them after heating briefly in the microwave - yuuummmm!

Tasty oh so tasty! These custard tarts have lovely flakey pastry and sweet savoury custard baked to perfection. Perfect with a cup of tea or coffee. Enjoy!

Best tarts ever. Kinda addictive too! Unless you're stocking up for a tart frenzy - go with the coffee / tart deal - it's great value. And get the cinnamon dusted on top too (thank me later).

Best Portugese tarts in Adelaide without a doubt! The pastry is super flakey and the custard is creamy and amazing! Can't have enough of them.
