Raj on Taj Hyde Park reviews
84 The worst ever experience. Pathetic food and service. Clear instructions not followed.
Kadahi Paneer was sweet! The manager himself took order and unable to follow the clear instructions and saying kadhaai paneer is always has sweet gravy …So frustrating
Atmosphere is alright. Not authentic food. Pretty regular stuff. Tried chefs special which was not at all special.
"I recently had a meal at a this place, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with the food. The flavors were exquisite, and the taste was exceptional.
In addition, I highly recommend trying their gulfi; it's a must-try for everyone. It's a delightful treat that you won't want to miss.
Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I can't wait to visit again soon. I encourage everyone to give it a try! "
Such a beautiful restaurant with quality service and AMAZING food. I’ve never left a Raj on Taj disappointed. The quality of the food is sensational, and not overly priced. The kitchen will cater to your spice liking for any dish (mild, medium or hot). One of the biggest standouts is the cheesy garlic naan. You cannot pass this up!
Excellent menu and taste sensations. Really yummy. Jes, the owner, is particularly attentive and welcoming. Recommended.
The atmosphere was very nice, beautifully directed with light bulbs and lighting.
Staff were very friendly.
However, in terms of food
There's a lot of coriander in the food, and maybe because I haven't gotten used to the different spices yet, the food keeps smelling like a moose's armpit, so I had a hard time eating it, so I put down the spoon.
Butter chicken was less fragrant, so I was able to eat it, but it has a strong sweet taste.
I went last week everything was great except for the horrible smell that came out between the payment area and kitchen. The rest was ok.
As soon as you walk in you can feel the authenticity.
The restaurant looks very inviting. There is a lot of seating, and the decor makes you feel comfortable. The open fire was special.
The mouthwatering aromas from the kitchen were promising.
We were pleased to find three goat options on the extensive menu. We chose the goat masala, as well as the prawn Kashmiri. Both dishes were very tasty. If anything, the Kashmiri was a little sweet for me, but that's being picky.
We also had our favourite cheese & garlic naan, as well as a cheese & chilli naan which was delicious.
Service was great. Glad we chose this restaurant. We would happily return.
The food quality was bad. Not the same it used to be before. Took a takeaway order and most of the food was undercooked and no balance of spices. They need to check the quality.
For me their food tastes like desert, from this i have to assume thats how indian food tastes like very SWEET for me. Food Presentation is beautiful. Ambience is fantastic.
The food is really good, but the service is pretty lacking… Nice people but just not very attentive (even with only 2 small tables between more than 2 servers).
Vegan butter chicken was 10/10!
I have enjoyed there excellent food for years. Recently, I made a mistake with my order and they were very kind and accommodating in making sure I still received what I wanted. Fantastic customer service.
We've lived close to a couple of Melbourne's best Indian restaurants, we live literally next door to an Adelaide Indian restaurant, and we have eaten plenty of decent Indian food. We ordered takeaway from the little Unley Road Raj on Taj and were impressed by the quality. Beef was very delicate and almost fell apart on the fork. For the money, just terrific.
Best food yesterday I went to raj on taj it was amazing food thanks to chef who served us best food and thanks to front staff who gave us best service better than other raj on taj!
Restaurant set off the Main Street (King WIlliam Road). Monday night for dinner. Staff were warm and friendly and happy to answer any questions.
Serving sizes look small but are very filling. Enjoyed all of our meals. Plenty of flavour and spice if you want it. No children’s menu which is a little annoying but the waiter was happy to give a couple of suggestions to use. This is the second time I have being to this restaurant now and I’m pretty sure there will be a third some time in the future.
I had been ok Raj on Taj today. It was worst food ever and worst service ever. Manager was so rude and arrogant. He is even proudy too.
Tasty food n reasonably priced but grossly understaffed. Waited for 25 mins for dinner on a Sunday - along with quite a few others waiting for their takeaways!
Only 3 tables when we were there n they couldn’t cope already.
Tip - try not to sit next to the door- got a cold rush of air every time someone opened it which was every 10-15 mins…
This review was for the Unley branch on Unley Road
We couldn’t sit on the other table cos the waitress didn’t have time to clear it.
Such a shame a long standing business can have such terrible customer service. Being greeted with “yes” and then being totally ignored when arriving to pick up a takeaway order. The korma was tough and dry and the butter chicken was tasteless! Won’t be going back.
Lovely food, really nice manager who came to apologise for slow service, wasn't even slow.
Would highly recommend
Not sure how they got all of these good reviews? One of the worst Indian restaurants we have eaten at, no flavour, bland. All dishes seemed to taste the same. Really disappointing
1/10
